All stats are exclusive to red zone usage. Some numbers behind the numbers: McBride had 5 RZ targets in Week 6 alone, with 3 receptions for 12 yards and a TD. Ferguson, Warren, and Gadsden each had 3 RZ targets in Week 6: Ferguson caught all 3 for 33 yards and a TD; Warren caught 2 for 14 yards and a TD; Gadsden caught 2 for 12 yards. In total, TEs had 15 RZ TDs in Week 6.

This is not the be-all and end-all, but a piece of the puzzle. There are no guarantees. And if you see this and say, “Why don’t they do this more?” remember there are other players on the field on both sides of the football. And tight ends do a lot of blocking.

London game: Los Angeles Rams @ Jacksonville Jaguars, Wembley Stadium.

Week 7 byes: Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills.

More tight end stuff:

  1. The Pittsburgh TE situation is up in the air coming out of the bye: with 47, Darnell Washington led the team in TE snaps for the second straight game. Jonnu Smith was not far behind with 41. Smith participated in more pass plays (22) than Washington (19), but Washington’s line of 5/3/62/0 outpaced Smith’s 4/3/18/0 line. Pat Freiermuth has dropped to number 3 in the pecking order, at least temporarily, with a 1/1/11/0 line on 21 snaps, and to make things perfectly muddy, Connor Heyward played 6 snaps and hauled in a 12-yard TD on his only pass play. If you want one or more of these guys, I won’t get in your way. The Steelers play the Bengals on Thursday night in Cincinnati.
  2. Bengals TE Mike Gesicki left the Week 6 game in Green Bay with a pectoral injury and is headed to IR. Tanner Hudson caught one of QB Joe Flacco’s 2 TD passes but also left the game; he had a concussion and will miss Week 7. Noah Fant, Drew Sample, and Cam Grandy will likely be the TEs against Pittsburgh.
  3. One of the few highlights for the Eagles on Thursday was the play of TE Dallas Goedert, who dropped an 11/9/110/1 line for 26.0 PPR points. The only two TEs that had more points in a 2025 game were Hunter Henry (29.0) and Mark Andrews (27.1), both in Week 3. And they each had 2 TDs in those performances.
  4. The Dart & Skattebo Show for the Giants in their shockingly easy win over the defending World Champs left room for little else. TE Theo Johnson dropped a modest 4/2/24/0 line.
  5. Broncos TEs Evan Engram (6/5/42/0, 1 rush for 7 yards) and Nate Adkins (2/2/23/1) provided two of the fantasy-worthy lines of the game in London. And I’m reaching to apply the term.
  6. Jets TE Mason Taylor had a 1/1/2/0 line. He was fourth in receiving on the team in London. Yes, that’s as bad as it sounds.
  7. I would like to throw a vote for Offensive Player of the Year to Cards QB Jacoby Brissett for pointing out TE Trey McBride can be useful in the end zone. McBride was peppered with 11 targets and responded with an 8/72/1 line. Bonus points for targeting McBride 5 times in the red zone in Week 6. McBride had 21.2 PPR points for Week 6.
  8. Colts TE Tyler Warren continued his impressive rookie campaign with a 9/6/63/1 line, good for 18.3 PPR points in Week 6. He led the team in targets and yards while sharing the reception lead with WR Josh Downs.
  9. Chargers TE Will Dissly returned to the field for the first time since Week 3 and played 26 snaps, but the offense needed Oronde Gadsden’s pass-catching to help beat the Dolphins. Gadsden had an 8/7/68/0 line, while Dissly had a 2/2/18/ line. Gadsden did commit the Chargers’ only turnover, a fumble near midfield in the first quarter, but played a season-high 48 snaps. Tyler Conklin was limited to 3 snaps.
  10. Dolphins TE Darren Waller had a modest day with a 3/2/12/1 line but scored a TD in his third straight game, QB Tua Tagovailoa’s only TD pass, to give the Dolphins their last lead at 27-26. Waller played a season-high 40 snaps. Julian Hill and Tanner Conner combined for a 4/4/39/0 line.
  11. Patriots TEs Hunter Henry (53) and Austin Hopper (41) played plenty of snaps, but combined for a 4/4/32/0 line on a day New England only attempted 26 passes.
  12. The Saints’ TE Juwan Johnson fever dream may be over. After playing all but 15 offensive snaps and accumulating a 31/22/204/1 line in the first four games, Johnson has a combined 6/4/32/0 line in the last two. He played a season-low 40 snaps in Week 6 and lost a fumble when by NE LB Christian Elliss punched the ball out near midfield with 8:28 remaining, snuffing out the last significant drive the Saints had. Foster Moreau (20), Taysom Hill (12), and Jack Stoll (12) all received at least 12 snaps; none of them had more than one touch, although Hill ran in the Saints’ only TD from one yard out 5:18 into the second quarter.
  13. Browns TE Harold Fannin had a day against the Steelers with a 10/7/81/0 line, all career highs except for TDs. TE David Njoku suffered a knee injury that one of the Twitter docs called “a hyperextension,” although that’s not confirmed.
  14. Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson’s TD streak reached 3 games, but he had an otherwise quiet day (for him) with a 3/3/33/1 line. The 3 targets and receptions were season lows.
  15. Panthers TE Tommy Tremble had a 4/4/39/0 line against the Cowboys. Mitchell Evans caught his only target for 21 yards.
  16. With 2:53 left in the game, Seahawks TE AJ Barner got free on 1st and 10 from the Seattle 27 after Sam Darnold’s play fake, catching the ball at the Jacksonville 40 and taking it down to the Jags’ 12, helping Seattle protect a 20-12 lead. Barner finished the day catching all 3 of his targets for 71 yards, and Elijah Arroyo added a 2/1/6/0 line.
  17. The Jaguars’ TEs, Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt, combined for 3 receptions for 33 yards on 5 targets.
  18. Rams TE Tyler Higbee was the receiving star of the Week 6 game against the Ravens with a 4/4/40/1 line. That should tell us a lot about the Rams’ offense.
  19. Ravens TE Mark Andrews had a 6/4/26/0 line and Isaiah Likely had a 2/2/6/0 line. More below.
  20. The Titans’ TEs all contributed: Chig Okonkwo had a 6/6/46/0 line, Gunnar Heim had 3/2/15/0, and David Martin-Robinson had the Titans’ only TD on a 1-yard reception.
  21. Raiders TE Brock Bowers (knee) is still out, and I get the feeling he won’t be back until at least after their Week 8 bye. Michael Mayer had a 7/5/50/1 line and was PPR TE 6 for Week 6.
  22. Packers TE Tucker Kraft caught both his targets, and they were consequential: the first was a 24-yarder from the Green Bay 17 to the 41 that got them out of their own end, and the second was a 19-yard TD that made the score 24-10 with 7:33 left in the game.
  23. The 49ers have a viable option at TE if George Kittle gets hurt. Well, and everybody else. Jake Tonges has been one of the best surprises of the 2025 season. He showed his dawg in Week 1, snatching the winning TD away from Seattle NB Riq Woolen. He may not have much of a pass-catching role if everyone else is healthy for SF, but he posted a 7/6/58/0 line against the Buccaneers after an 11/7/41/1 line against the Rams in Week 5. George Kittle’s 21-day window to be restored to the active roster has been activated and he was a limited practice participant on Wednesday.
  24. Like Tonges, Bucs TE Cade Otton seems ready to step up for a larger pass-catching role when needed. His 6/5/51/0 line against the 49ers came right after a 5/4/81/0 line against Seattle.
  25. Lions TE Sam LaPorta had one of the what will likely be many candidates for “Catch of the Year” on Sunday night at Arrowhead. On 2nd and goal from the Chiefs’ 4 with just over 14 minutes left in the game, the 6’3” LaPorta made his way to the back line of the end zone and reached over 6’0” KC CB Chamarri Conner, who was on LaPorta like a cheap suit, to make the grab while getting both feet just inside the field of play. LaPorta had a 6/5/55/1 line, similar to his Week 5 line but with 37 fewer yards.
  26. Chiefs TE Travis Kelce led the Chiefs with a 7/6/78 line but with no TDs despite 3 short Patrick Mahomes scoring passes. His presence in the red zone still needs to be accounted for, which helps the team more than his fantasy shareholders.
  27. Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (oblique) did not play in the Week 6 game in Atlanta and will have the bye week to try and heal. Dawson Knox caught 1 of 2 targets for a nice falling-down 19-yard TD that gave the Bills their only tie at 7-7. Well, besides 0-0.
  28. Falcons TE Kyle Pitts took a back seat against the Bills with a 4/3/18/0 line. All those stats are season lows.
  29. Bears TE Colston Loveland returned to action Monday night in Washington. Neither Loveland nor Cole Kmet had many opportunities to catch passes, combining for a 5/3/11/0 line.
  30. A week after Commanders TE Zach Ertz had no catches, he led the team in targets and receptions, posting a 6/6/43/1 line. His touchdown 3:33 into the 4th quarter gave Washington a 24-16 lead.

Other stuff:

  1. The Steelers had little trouble Sunday, beating the Browns 23-9. They creased the Browns’ tough run D for 100 rushing yards, but needed 28 carries to get there. QB Aaron Rodgers efficiently led the offense with a 21/30/230/2 line with no turnovers, WR DK Metcalf had a 4/4/95/1 line, and the defense held Cleveland to 248 yards and three FGs. They sacked Browns QB Dillon Gabriel 6 times. WR Calvin Austin (shoulder) missed the Week 6 game and will be out for Week 7 as well.
  2. The Bengals played a better-than-expected game in Green Bay, but the Packers answered the Bengals every time Cincinnati got within one score of the lead. QB Joe Flacco made his debut for the Bengals with a 29/45/219/2 line with no turnovers and only a six-yard sack absorbed. WR Ja’Marr Chase had a 12/10/94/1 line and WR Tee Higgins had an 8/5/62/0 line; the 5 receptions and 62 receiving yards were season highs for Higgins. DE Trey Hendrickson left with a back injury in the second quarter. Hendrickson and WR Charlie Jones are questionable for the Bengals game with the Steelers on Thursday night, as is G Lucas Patrick, who is hoping to return from IR.
  3. The Eagles played an odd game on Thursday in New Jersey against the Giants. They scored on three of their first four drives. The one they punted on allowed the Giants to take a 13-3 lead. The Eagles clawed their way back to a 17-13 lead, then allowed a 15-play, 67-yard drive to fall behind 17-20. After muffing the kickoff and starting their last drive of the first half at their own 7-yard line with 1:12 left, the first half ended on a 9-yard scramble by QB Jalen Hurts to the Giants’ 48-yard line as the Eagles had used their timeouts on the Giants’ drive. Of their five second-half possessions, the first three produced one first down, and the last two ended on turnovers. The press seems to be in a frenzy over this turn of events; I have no idea how the Eagles actually feel, although DE Za’Darius Smith retired on Monday. I will add this opinion: in the last two-plus seasons, the Eagles seem to be a team of momentum. They’ll try to change theirs on Sunday in Minnesota. The Eagles were missing G Landon Dickerson (ankle), TE Grant Calcaterra (oblique), and DT Jalen Carter (heel) in Week 6 and lost CB Quinyon Mitchell to a hamstring injury during the Week 6 game.
  4. The Giants played arguably their best game of HC Brian Daboll’s tenure, at least outside their odd dominance of the Indianapolis Colts. The Giants scored TDs on their first two possessions for the second week in a row, but unlike the Week 5 game in New Orleans, the Giants hung three more TDs on the Eagles, and after recovering RB A.J. Dillon’s fumble, ran out the final 6:50, sealing the game on a 2-yard sneak by QB Jaxson Dart for a first down near the 2:00 warning. Dart had lines of 25/17/195/1 passing and 13/58/1 rushing. RB Cam Skattebo had 110 scrimmage yards and 3 TDs on 22 touches, and WR Wan’Dale Robinson added a 7/6/84/1 line. The Giants were without WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) and C John Michael Schmitz suffered a concussion in the 3rd quarter of the game. I’ll also add this: the Giants’ improvement since Week 3 owes as much to the return to (relative) health of LT Andrew Thomas as to any other personnel change they’ve made. The Giants head to Denver and Philadelphia for their next two games.
  5. I shared my thoughts on the NFL International games on the RazzballNFL Start/Sit show on Sunday morning during the Broncos’ 13-11 win in London. There were few offensive highlights, although QB Bo Nix had a serviceable line of 19/30/174/1 and added 24 yards on five rushes. The only turnover for the Broncos was a fumble by WR Troy Franklin after a 7-yard reception on the Jets’ 32 on the Broncos’ opening drive. LG Ben Powers (biceps) was placed on IR Saturday and former NYG G Matt Peart has slotted in as Powers’ replacement. Denver LB Nic Bonito said, “The most important thing was coming here and getting the win — it didn’t matter how it looked,” disregarding the feelings of every other human being. The Broncos return to Mile High for Week 7 against the Giants.
  6. What to say about the Week 6 Jets? Their two first-half “scoring drives” totaled 4 yards combined, came after Franklin’s fumble and RB Kene Nwangwu’s 72-yard kickoff return, and yielded 2 field goals. Their longest drives of the day sandwiched halftime and yielded their third FG, which were the last points they managed on offense. Despite all that, the Jets took an 11-10 lead with 4:56 left in the 3rd when Broncos RG Quinn Meinerz was flagged for holding Jets DE Micheal Clemmons in the Denver end zone for a safety. The Jets were without WR Allen Lazard (personal), and WR Garrett Wilson injured either his hip, his ribs, his knee, or some combination, depending on who is asked (note: Wilson had an MRI on his knee Monday; it is being reported as a hyperextention, and it was noted he could miss time and that the Jets’ bye is in Week 9). The Jets only had 82 yards of offense, including -10 net passing yards after QB Justin Fields was sacked 9 times. No typos, the minus is real. Assuming the Jets will be allowed back in the U.S., they return to MetLife for a Sunday game with the Panthers.
  7. The Cardinals played Week 6 without QB Kyler Murray. Murray missed the game with what is being called a “mid-foot injury.” He could miss more than that game. They also lost WR Marvin Harrison Jr. to a concussion in the second quarter. A frightening injury occurred when TE Travis Vokolek collided with another player on a kickoff return and was immobilized before being taken off the field. Reports are that he has feelings in his extremities after suffering a neck injury. Prayers up. The Cards head back to Glendale to host the Packers in Week 7.
  8. The Colts lost two players during pregame warmups: CB Charvarius Ward suffered his second concussion of the season when he collided with TE Drew Ogletree. QB Anthony Richardson also suffered a pregame injury when a pole he had an elastic band attached to snapped and struck him in the face. Richardson’s orbital bone was fractured, and he’ll reportedly be placed on IR. Riley Leonard is the current QB2 and the Colts signed Brett Rypien to the practice squad for depth. The Colts travel to SoFi Stadium for a Week 7 game with the Chargers.
  9. The Chargers broke a two-game losing streak in Miami, beating the Dolphins 29-27. They won the turnover battle (+2) and limited penalties (7 for 45 yards) while only allowing one sack of QB Justin Herbert. Herbert had an effective day with a 38/29/264/2 line. Ladd McConkey had his 2025 fantasy breakout with a 9/7/100/1 line, his second straight week with a TD. 42 of McConkey’s yards came with 0:34 left in the game: Herbert shook off a sack attempt by Miami LB Jaelan Phillips, then hit McConkey a few yards beyond the line of scrimmage. McConkey juked S Dante Trader Jr. and received a key block from RB Hassan Haskins, moving the ball from the Chargers’ 41 to the Dolphins’ 17 and setting up Cameron Dicker’s game-winning FG. With WR Quentin Johnston sidelined by a hamstring, WR Tre Harris stepped up with 53 snaps, which were the high for all Chargers’ receivers, and put in a solid run-blocking effort. RB Kimani Vidal ceded the start to Haskins, but out-snapped Haskins 43-20 and out-touched Haskins 21-7 on his way to 138 scrimmage yards and a receiving TD. Haskins is a solid blocker, and Vidal struggled in his few pass-blocking opportunities, so a different opponent might yield a different split. The Chargers return to Inglewood for a Week 7 matchup with the Colts.
  10. Dolphins RB De’Von Achane had his best rushing day of the 2025 season against the Chargers with 128 yards and 2 TDs with a 6/4/22/0 receiving line thrown in. After Gadsden’s fumble, Achane took the ball 49 yards to the house on the next play to give Miami a 7-3 lead. The Dolphins gamely rallied from a 13-26 deficit in the 4th as Achane’s second TD cut the Chargers’ lead to 20-26 and Waller got ridiculously open in the end zone to give the Dolphins a 27-26 lead with 0:46 left. Tagovailoa’s third interception on the game’s final play sealed the loss. Jaylen Waddle (8/6/95/0) continues excelling as the Dolphins’ WR1 in place of Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins head to Cleveland for their Week 7 game against the Browns.
  11. Louisiana native and LSU alumnus WR Kayshon Boutte had a homecoming to remember in his first visit for a pro game, posting a 5/5/93/2 line. Boutte’s second TD with 0:31 left until halftime gave the Patriots a lead they would not relinquish. A week after posting a 12/10/146/0 line in Orchard Park, WR Stefon Diggs posted a 3/3/28/0 line in New Orleans. The Pats offense is shaping up to be one where the only fantasy hero it has may very well be QB Drake Maye. The Pats are now 4-2 and in a familiar position: first place in the AFC East. They’ll be in Nashville for a Week 7 meeting with the Titans.
  12. Saints RG Cesar Ruiz (ankle) returned to the lineup and played all 56 snaps. The Saints gave New England a game, but apart from Hill’s second-quarter TD, settled for 4 FGs by K Blake Grupe. Despite holding the Patriots to a field goal in the second half, they could get no closer than six points. The Saints will give it another go in Chicago for Week 7.
  13. The Browns had a horrible time in Pittsburgh in Week 6, not only losing the game, but LT Cam Robinson (knee), Njoku (knee), RT Jack Conklin (concussion), and WR Gage Larvadain (concussion). They’ll all be evaluated during the week. QB Dillon Gabriel was 29 of 52 but for only 221 air yards, and he was sacked 6 times by the Steelers for 38 yards in losses. RB Quinshon Judkins was limited to 36 yards on 12 carries, and WR Jerry Jeudy had 13 targets, but only 5 receptions for 43 yards. To be fair, the Pittsburgh defense was as healthy as it’s been all year and was rested, but if the Browns can’t push the ball down the field, it’s going to be a long year. Gabriel is currently averaging under 5 yards per attempt. The Browns will host the Dolphins on Sunday. I also want to say a fare thee well to WR David Bell: Bell was a highly-regarded prospect coming out of Purdue and was drafted in the 3rd round by the Browns in 2022. Before he could get his career going, he suffered a season-ending hip injury in Week 2 of 2024 that also wound up ending his career as he announced his retirement on Tuesday. I hope that at 24, he’ll enjoy the next chapter.
  14. The Cowboys were without WRs CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and Kevonte Turpin (foot), as well as RG Tyler Booker (ankle), but LT Tyler Guyton cleared the concussion protocol to play against the Panthers. The Cowboys only managed 279 yards on offense against the tough Carolina defense and were held to 31 yards rushing, but stayed in the game by limiting mistakes (no turnovers or sacks against, 37 penalty yards) and through 3 QB Dak Prescott TD passes. The Cowboys took Carolina’s only turnover, a Donovan Wilson interception of Panthers QB Bryce Young at the Panthers’ 46-yard line, to Carolina’s 25 and were assisted by an unnecessary roughness penalty on the return that moved the ball to Carolina’s 12. The Cowboys cashed in four plays later on a 3-yard pass to a wide-open FB Hunter Luepke on a legal rub play with WR Jalen Tolbert. WR George Pickens caught Prescott’s final TD with 2:38 left in the third quarter which gave Dallas its last lead at 24-20. From the Panthers’ 34, Pickens caught a slant at the 25 and split the defense to go untouched into the end zone. He capped an 11/9/168/1 day with a 45-yard reception to the Panthers’ 20 to set up a K Brandon Aubrey field goal for the Cowboys’ final points. Pickens has been revelatory with the Cowboys, on pace for career seasonal highs in the major receiving categories; he already has a career-high 6 TD receptions. Kill the Cowboys all you want for trading DE Micah Parsons, but the trade for Pickens has been a home run so far. Lamb, Turpin, Booker, and WR Jonathan Mingo (knee, IR-designated for return) all had limited practices on Wednesday. The Cowboys host the Commanders in Week 7.
  15. Opportunity knocked when Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard (calf) went down in Week 4 just as Carolina was set for games with two of the NFL’s worst run defenses. But give it to RB Rico Dowdle, he burst through the door answering the knock. Against his former team, he had his second straight 200+ scrimmage yard game, bullying them so much that he drew the unnecessary roughing flag on Wilson’s interception return. In the games against the Dolphins and Cowboys, Dowdle had 60 touches for 473 scrimmage yards and 2 total TDs. His 239 yards in Week 6 are the franchise record. When questioned about the Panthers’ plan at RB when Hubbard returns, HC Dave Canales was non-committal. Hubbard could return as early as this week; so could TE Ja’Tavion Sanders (ankle) and WR Jalen Coker (quad) could be activated from IR.
  16. The Seahawks didn’t mess around on defense Sunday, sacking Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence 7 times for 44 yards in losses. DE DeMarcus Lawrence returned from a one-game absence to lead the way with 2 sacks and 5 hits on the Jags’ QB. QB Sam Darnold had a 16/27/295/2 line with no turnovers and WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a 13/8/162/1 line. The two hooked up on a 61-yard TD with 8:34 left in the first half when JSN blew past new Jags’ CB Greg Newsome down the middle, catching Darnold’s heave at the Jags’ 12 and cruising into the end zone. The Hawks return home to face Houston on Monday night and hope to get back LB Derick Hall (oblique), LCB Devon Witherspoon (knee), NB Riq Woolen (concussion), and FS Julian Love (hamstring).
  17. The Jaguars didn’t need to but helped Seattle with 10 penalties for 76 yards and had a dropped 16-yard pass on 3rd and 5 from the Jags’ 17 with 9:17 left. The running game never got going, and though Lawrence had 259 air yards and hit 10 different receivers, Brian Thomas was the only other offensive standout – despite the aforementioned dropped pass – with a 10/8/90/1 line. It was also the first game of the season that the defense had no takeaways. The Jags will be in London on Sunday to “host” the Rams.
  18. The Rams did not have a lot to do on offense, so they didn’t. They only managed 241 net yards of offense against a (somewhat) replenished Ravens defense. Their first half drives went missed FG, fumble, FG, punt, end of half. QB Matthew Stafford led them on a 9-play, 76-yard drive that culminated with a 3-yard run by RB Kyren Williams for the only points they’d need. Three plays later, Stafford hit Higbee after DE Jared Verse stripped Ravens WR Zay Flowers and S Quentin Lake returned the fumble to the Ravens 21. The defense had four sacks and forced three turnovers. The bad news happened when WR Puka Nacua went down with a foot injury in the 2nd quarter. He returned to the game in the 3rd, but had no targets following his return. We should know by Friday if he’ll join the team in London, but he DNP on Wednesday, as did OT Rob Havenstein (ankle). WR Tutu Atwell (hamstring) logged an LP after missing Week 6.
  19. Credit the Ravens: they were more successful running the ball against the Rams than most, but a good way to sum up the Ravens offense without QB Lamar Jackson was illustrated near the end of the first half: after Ravens WR LeJohntay Wester returned an Ethan Evans punt to the Rams’ 32, Baltimore rode RB Derrick Henry five straight times to move the ball to the Rams’ 1. Starting with 2nd-and-goal from the 1, Baltimore tried two straight Tush Pushes with Mark Andrews performing the Jalen Hurts role. Both were stuffed for no gain. On 4th down, Baltimore tried Henry left end where he was tackled by Verse for a 2-yard loss and a turnover on downs. The Ravens were able to get back CB Marlon Humphrey and S Kyle Hamilton for the game, and it did help steady the defense some, but they have to be thankful their bye week is here. They have key injuries to LB Roquan Smith (hamstring), FB Patrick Ricard (calf), and Jackson (hamstring), among others. WR Zay Flowers has been playing through a shoulder injury as well. At 1-5, they’re not out of it, but the hill to climb will be steep starting in Week 8 when they host the Bears.
  20. The Raiders defense threw the kitchen sink at Titans QB Cam Ward, sacking him six times and turning him over three others. Tennessee managed only 225 yards of offense. They lost WR Calvin Ridley to a hamstring injury in the 2nd quarter. Sorry to be dry, but this is dreadful. Apparently, Titans’ management agreed and made Brian Callahan the first head coach to be fired in the 2025 season. Mike McCoy will take over in the interim. They head home to face the Patriots for McCoy’s first game as IHC.
  21. It was a good day for the Raiders’ defense against the hapless Titans’ offense. DE Maxx Crosby held the stick the most as they beat the Cam Ward piñata repeatedly, accounting for 2 sacks and 3 QB hits. The Raiders’ offense was not much more impressive than the Titans’ with 226 yards, but they only had 1 turnover, didn’t commit needless penalties on offense, and had a 60 and a 70-yard drive. WR Jakobi Meyers (toe/knee) and RB Dylan Laube (hamstring) DNP on Wednesday. The Raiders head to Kansas City for Week 7. The last three meetings between the teams were one-score games.
  22. The Packers are trying to get 2025 first-round pick WR Matthew Golden more involved in the offense. On their second drive, Golden had both his runs of the game for 8 yards each and a 20-yard reception on 2nd and 9 from the Green Bay 36 that took the ball over midfield; the drive ended in a Lucas Havrisik 43-yard field goal (if you were expecting K Brandon McManus there, he’s out with a right quad injury). With 5:46 left in the 2nd quarter, QB Jordan Love laid out a beautiful throw that Golden caught over the outstretched arms of Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt for a 35-yard gain to the Cincy 35; RB Josh Jacobs ran it in from 3 yards out with 4:05 left. Golden’s final catch came with 2:24 left right after Love had been sacked back to the Green Bay 43; Golden beat Bengals S Jordan Battle to the left and Love hit him for a 31-yard gain to the Bengals 29 and set up another Havrisik FG to make it a two-score game with 1:52 left. The Packers had RT Zach Tom and LG Arron Banks back. WR Dontayvion Wicks hurt his ankle but logged an LP on Wednesday.
  23. The 49ers’ injury woes continue. Or like Dr. Frankenstein said to Igor, “I need more bodies.” The ghost of WR Jauan Jennings had only 1 reception for 7 yards on 3 targets. After the game, he confided that, on top of ankle and shoulder injuries, he has five broken ribs. Of the offensive players that missed Week 6, only WR Ricky Pearsall did not practice on Wednesday; QB Brock Purdy and WR Jordan Watkins were limited. WR Skyy Moore (ankle) was injured Sunday and DNP on Wednesday. LB Fred Warner (ankle) suffered a gruesome injury Sunday and is done for the season. The 49ers return to Santa Clara for a Sunday night game with the Falcons.
  24. The Bucs came into the game not in much better shape than the 49ers, with WRs Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (fibula), as well as RB Ricky Irving (Foot/shoulder) out. They then lost WR Emeka Egbuka to a hamstring injury and he is expected to miss some games. It sounds like Evans is getting close to returning. In their absence, WRs Tez Johnson and Kameron Johnson each caught TDs from QB Baker Mayfield. The Bucs head to Ford Field for a Monday night clash with the Lions.
  25. The Lions’ time on the field Sunday night was limited. Their longest drive of the night was a 15-play, 61-yard drive that chewed up 9:39 and reached the Chiefs’ 1-yard line on the first possession of the game. On 4th down from the 1, their first try was a TD, but RB David Montgomery’s pass to QB Jared Goff (you read that right) was overturned by an illegal motion penalty on Goff. Now at the KC 5, the Lions were penalized again, this time for delay of game. They settled for a 28-yard Jason Bates FG. They didn’t have another drive longer than 8 plays or 4:36, and turned the ball over on downs twice. WR Jameson Williams, rumored deceased in fantasy circles, had a 7/6/66/1 line. Goff’s 29 passing attempts, not a lot, were his most since Week 1. The Lions were down to their third LT, 31-year-old Dan Skipper, who allowed only one pressure on Goff as Taylor Decker (shoulder) missed his second straight game and Giovanni Manu (knee) is out for the season.
  26. If I need a defensive plan to win one game, the list of DCs I’d call is short and the Chiefs’ Steve Spagnuolo is near the top. If you need a list of his accomplishments for Spagnuolo, use your favorite search engine; start with “Super Bowl XLII.” The Chiefs limited the Lions, who had been averaging 365 yards and 34.8 points per game, to 297 and 17, respectively. WR Hollywood Brown had two short TD receptions, which would have made me look like a genius in my Week 5 Players Splits column, but as usual, I was a week early to the party. And I wonder why my friends never invite me anywhere. Other than LT Josh Simmons (NIR-Personal, DNP on Wednesday) and RB Brashard Smith (Illness, DNP on Wednesday), the Chiefs are healthy on offense as they host the Raiders in Week 7.
  27. It seems like a month since the Bills were 4-0. In reality, it only took them 9 days to fall to 4-2 and second place in the AFC East. WR Joshua Palmer was having a nice night until, on a reception, he was hip-dropped by Falcons CB Dee Alford less than a minute into the 2nd quarter; I’m old enough to remember when that was illegal. Palmer left with an ankle injury and is now “week-to-week.” Without Kincaid, Curtis Samuel (inactive with neck and rib injuries), and Palmer, QB Josh Allen was harassed into 4 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 2 fumbles (none lost). The Bills will have the bye to regroup and heal up on both sides of the ball before meeting the Panthers in Charlotte.
  28. Falcons RB Bijan Robinson had the fantasy game that his shareholders have wet dreams about. He had career highs in scrimmage yards (238) and PPR points (35.8). Robinson and WR Drake London combined for 396 of the Falcons’ 483 yards of offense. They also had 24 of QB Michael Penix’s 31 targets. They generously allowed RB Tyler Allgeier 11 touches for 38 scrimmage yards and a TD. Everyone not named Penix, Robinson, Allgeier, or London combined for 4 touches for 20 yards. The Falcons were without WRs Darnell Mooney (hamstring) and Ray-Ray McCloud (your guess is as good as mine). LT Jake Matthews (ankle) was injured in and left the Week 6 game. The Falcons play the 49ers Sunday night in Santa Clara.
  29. Bears RB D’Andre Swift had one of his best games for Chicago with 175 scrimmage yards on 16 touches. Three plays after Ertz’s TD on 3rd and 4 from the Bears’ 45, Swift caught a pass at midfield, eluded a tackle by Washington S Quan Martin, and blew past CB Marshon Lattimore for a 55-yard TD that brought the Bears to 22-24. No one else on the Bears had more than 52 scrimmage yards or 6 touches. QB Caleb Williams ran one in from a yard out 0:42 into the second quarter. K Jake Moody, signed off the practice squad with Cairo Santos (thigh) out, hit an extra point and was 4/5 on FGs, including the walkoff from 38 yards as time expired. The Bears head home for a Week 7 game with the Saints.
  30. The Commanders went scoreless for the first 20:32, scored 24 of the next 27 points, then went scoreless for the last 11:27. They were without WRs Terry McLaurin (quad) and Noah Brown (groin/knee), and Deebo Samuel wasn’t certain to play until right before the game due to a heel injury. Samuel played but had his worst game for the Commanders with 14 scrimmage yards on 5 touches. Brown tried to practice leading to the game, but was shut down and put on IR this week. McLaurin, Samuel, and RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. are not practicing so far this week. The Commanders head to Dallas for their Week 7 game.
  31. Houston returns to action Monday night in Seattle. None of their offensive players on the active roster is currently on the injury report.
  32. Minnesota returns to action Sunday at home against Philadelphia. RT Brian O’Neill is limited with a knee injury and the Vikings have made no indication of who their starting QB will be yet.

These rankings are for Week 7 games ONLY. If you want to speak about them, hit me up in the COMMENTS, which is also where I will post updates after Friday practice participation reports are finalized.

These rankings are for base PPR leagues: 1 point per reception, 1 point for 10 yards rushing/receiving, 6 points per touchdown, and -2 points per fumble lost. No premiums or bonuses.

I’ll give player, player’s team, opponent this week, home or road game (H/R), day of game, time of game (early (E), late (L), or night (N)), opponent’s 2025 rank vs. tight ends, current projected team total per ESPNBET, PPR points per game (PPG), PPR PPG scoring rank for the season (Sc Rk), and percent rostered per FantasyPros (Rost %).
