This week is the start of RazzBowl8 drafts. This is one of my favorite times of the year when one draft ends and another begins. I feel like I was just drafting my Scott Fish Bowl 16 team and now, here I am looking at a fresh, clean RazzBowl8 draft board. Once this is complete, the second season of our invite-only @RazzballNFL (Home – Razzball Fantasy Football) Guillotine (new name incoming) League and PPR Redraft leagues will occur. We are currently contacting last year’s participants to determine if we have open spots to fill. Once we have shrunk our lists down, look for communications for the leagues that you can request to enter. For now, I bring to you a new article…Best and Work WR Draft Picks by Round (Rounds 1-5). These names might help you narrow your search for WRs in each of the early rounds. Do not reach too early and consider the fact that the WR position appears to be thinner than recent seasons. Get your guys early and often as I think the other skill positions are much deeper in 2026.
We are selecting viewers (podcasts) and readers (articles) to fill the coveted spots in our Guillotine and PPR Redraft leagues. The key to receiving an invite from one of our writers is to comment on an article and/or show up and chat with us during one of our podcasts. We want the best, brightest managers that enjoy our Razz brand. Let me know if you are interested in filling one of the final three spots. Comment on my article and we will go from there.
Remember to check in with the @Razzball NFL team of writers as we host our You Tube podcasts where we chat all things off-season fantasy football, fantasy football draft season, and maybe weave in some music and pop culture chatter. Join Sky @SkyGuasco, The Lineup Builder @Derek_Favret, Jeff @Jefferson__21, Dave @crewser128, and me, Matt @stiles08 on out various You Tube pods as we answer your questions thus keeping you informed for the 2026 draft season. Come for the analysis and stay for the laughs!
Round 1
Best Pick: CeeDee Lamb – Dallas Cowboys
Currently, Lamb is coming in near the end of Round 1 and could land as the overall WR1 when the 2026 season finishes. I like Dallas to throw the ball a lot, and I see George Pickens to be the opposite side WR Lamb needs to see more single coverage. The number one reason for me to have Lamb as the best pick is my belief that he will improve from three to ten TDs+ in 2026.
Worst Pick: Puka Nacua – Los Angeles Rams
Hear me out. Puka is a stud and we all know it. Of the top tier WRs, he is also the most likely to not have the volume he has seen in the past. The Rams defense is going to be elite; thus, the offense will not be forced to throw as often as they did in 2025. Matthew Stafford is another year older and coming off an MVP season he is unlikely to repeat. The one, separating factor for me is Puka only played about 65% of snaps. He is simply not on the field enough due to rest and injuries. Do not even get me started on the latest off the field stuff happening in his orbit.
Round 2
Best Pick: Drake London – Atlanta Falcons
First, the Falcons are going to be awful and trailing in a lot games. Bijan Robinson will be the focus for all defensive coordinators. The two QBs jockeying to be the starter in Atlanta are not good. Michael Penix is still on the shelf for 2-4 more weeks which means our old friend Tua Tagovailoa leading the way in camp. Assuming Tua wins the job, and I truly think he will, he and his spaghetti arm will create an absolute target monster out of London. Do not look for a ton of TDs for London, though he is like Davante Adams lite in the red zone.
Worst Pick: Devonta Smith – Philadelphia Eagles
This one is simple for me. No AJ Brown to take coverage away from him. Rookie WR drafted to play from day one. Run first offense. New offensive coordinator. Jalen Hurts is not a good passing QB. That’s it. That’s all. What more do you need to read?
POLARIZING HONORABLE MENTION for Round 2 – Malik Nabers – could be a league winner or guy who misses half the season and drags your team down with him.
Round 3
Best Pick: Zay Flowers – Baltimore Ravens
Lamar runs less and must continue the downward trend to ensure he stays healthy and on the field. Flowers has virtually no competition for targets. He has improved his overall WR standing each season and has not finished below WR16 since he came into the league.
Worst Pick: Garrett Wilson – New York Jets
The Jets are, and will probably always be, a mess. The starting QB is Geno Smith…again. The second passing option is an RB in Breece Hall. The WR2 is Adonai Mitchell. Suffice it to say, I will allow someone else to pay up for Wilson.
Round 4
Best Pick: Emeka Egbuka – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker Mayfield appears to be fully healthy in camp. Mike Evans is gone. Bucky Irving is not who he was two years ago. Chris Godwin is a great story but another year older and coming off a nasty lower leg injury. I think Egbuka looks much more first half 2025 Egbuka than he does second half let down come 2026. I see him ascending to Round 2-3 value by the end of the season.
Worst Pick: Jaylen Waddle – Denver Broncos
Nope! Not gonna get me with another Sean Payton WR. Just not going to happen for me. I know Waddle has a ton of helium coming into Denver, but I am not buying in until I see him as the featured WR1 in this offense. Remember, the Broncos still have Courtland Sutton vying to be the lead dog in this offense. Also, will Bo Nix continue to tuck the ball and run versus trusting his WRs? He needs confidence to stay in the pocket, and with Waddle being more of a downfield threat, I simply do not see Nix sitting in the pocket long enough to warrant the fourth-round selection.
Round 5
Best Pick: Jameson Williams – Detroit Lions, DJ Moore – Buffalo Bills, Christian Watson – Green Bay Packers, Davante Adams – Los Angeles Rams, Parker Washington – Jacksonville Jaguars, Rome Odunze – Chicago Bears
To me, Round 5 is the absolute sweet spot for WRs. Look at the name I have listed above and tell me you would not relish the opportunity to roster any of these as your WR3. I will not have a ton of Jameson or Moore, but the others are all welcome on my squads.
Worst Pick: Mike Evans – San Francisco 49ers
Love the player. Do not love the 2025 injury nor the advanced age. I am not a fan of an offense that just lost Ricky Pearsall for the season (PCL surgery). I do not like the signing of Deebo Samuel who simply takes touches away from Big Mike. I do not like that Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle will be the offensive focus when both on the field. I just do not see enough opportunities for Evans in this offense. Give me De’Zhaun Stribling much, MUCH later in the draft. Someone else can pay up for Evans. It will not be me.

Amazing article as always! I’m high on Egbuka & Watson (yes I’m a Homer “Go Pack Go!”). Keep up the great work!
Dan – Appreciate the kind words. As you know, I, too, am a homer. With that, I still feel like Watson is a little bit of a bargain in the 5th. I see that round as a sweet spot for WR. I have Egbuka slightly higher in my ranks.

Morning Stiles,
I am in a 10 team PPR league where we start 2 RB, 2 WR and 2 Flex. I have pick 2 so will likely take either Bijan or Gibbs. Have been doing some mocks and it is quite likely I could get Chase Brown at 19 (but I am open to taking a WR if my league mates go RB heavy and there are some bargains). My strategy would then be to take 4/5 WR’s so hitting your sweet spot. Likely going to wait on QB and TE. See anything wrong with this strategy ?
Not sure I am going to be in the market for Nabers 19, and 22 feel too early for the risk. I took him at the turn in round 2 last year (think it was 13 or 14) and it made things difficult. (Took CMC the year before, so it might be best not drafting players I like).
Thanks for the article,
Another Dan
Good morning, Dan.
I have no issue with your plan. In fact, I fully support your plan. I am not a huge proponent of mocks unless they are simply a fun time filler for you. I do not think they provide much, if any, value to the fantasy manager. With Bijan/Gibbs on the roster, you can wait on your RB2 as there are plenty of options in Round 3-4. In a perfect world, you will land your stud RB1 then one of your top WR1s followed by best player available and then that WR sweet spot in Round 5 I mention in the article.
In my current RazzBowl8 draft, I did not select a RB until Round 5 based on the way the names fell to me. I picked at 1.03 selecting Ja’Marr Chase. Coming back at the end of Round 2, Drake London was available and better than the RB names on the board. At the top of Round 3, the same thing occurred with Malik Nabers being available at 3.03 so I nabbed him. Wrapping all the back in Round 4, I had my sights set on Breece Hall to anchor my RB room but he went two picks in front of me, so I grabbed the best player available, Garrett Wilson. Round 5 saw my first RB in Travis Etienne. Not my plan going in but I am ecstatic about the roster so far. My challenge will be to find a suitable group of RBs to complement my WRs.
I think if Chase Brown is available for you in Round 2, he makes a ton of sense. Then, pound WRs for a few rounds and you will best just fine.

Great stuff as always my friend. Really appreciate the efforts you and the crew put in on this stuff.
Are there going to be any detailed ranking lists from the site this year? Been waiting for a few weeks for some of Rudy’s projections.
First, let me say I love the handle. I have, in fact, seen the movie, Threat Level Midnight by Michael Scott!
I digress. We are working, individually, on position rankings. We wanted the RazzBowl8 drafts to get started before we post our lists. I have reached out to the boss to see if we can expedite the rankings being published to the site. We will get in touch with Rudy as well.
