More randomness in Week 7! Let’s talk about it. But first, I rep the brand:

No more random than last Sunday, but I’m going to keep testing that theory.

Four of the players are owned in fewer than 2% of leagues (per FantasyPros), and Greg Dulcich is a regular top-30 guy in my rankings, but top-10 is a boost. If I get that one, I’m opening my own Psychic Friends Network. I’m liking Eli Raridon more and more. He still belongs in free agency in all but the deepest leagues, but he’s on my watch list. I covered Davis Allen and Mason Taylor in “Week 7 Takeaways” column. Brock Bowers has now played two of the toughest defenses against TEs (Patriots and Rams), and has done well, but teams are keying on him. Tre Tucker and Michael Mayer have benefited. We’ll see how the Raiders counter. Kyle Pitts has been rising, although 4.4 YPR is not going to feed the dog; he’s been living on TDs. I’d like to see more volume.

Trey McBride retakes the top spot with his TE 1 Week 7 finish. Isaiah Likely was TE 37 for Week 7. That does not quell my concerns over J.J. McCarthy taking the reins for the Giants, and we’ll have to wait to Week 9 to see more. To be fair, the Texans are fourth vs. TEs in PPR, but Buffalo, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville creased them. Pitts’ and Colston Loveland’s stocks are rising. T.J. Hockenson’s volume is too variable; some consistency would make him an add to rosters. Dalton Kincaid and Brenton Strange just had their byes, so don’t take them being in the bottom of the top 20 as a bad sign.

My fascination with the negative yard RZ plays will never end: there were four of them this week. I’ll expound on my Allen and Taylor takes: each of them had 1 RZT for the season before Week 7. Allen came close to a third TD on Sunday, but Stafford overthrew him. Taylor’s third RZT was caught for 11 yards and he was stopped at the Miami 3 for a first down. Dulcich had a play from the 20 that he caught behind the line of scrimmage and he took to the 5; a shoestring tackle thwarted the TD.
Here are the season-to-date RZ targets:

McBride owns the RZ. Loveland has had 7 RZTs since Week 4. Darnell Washington has snuck up the board; his bulk makes him a new RZT for Aaron Rodgers. I’d keep an eye on this if for nothing else than an Anytime TD play. Sam LaPorta’s RZ usage has slowed to a crawl since Week 5.
And now, the top 30 for Week 8, but first:
These rankings are for Week 8 games ONLY. If you want to speak about them, hit me up in the COMMENTS.
These rankings are for base PPR leagues: 1 point per reception, 1 point for 10 yards rushing/receiving, 6 points per touchdown, and -2 points per fumble lost. No premiums or bonuses.
I’ll give player, player’s team, opponent this week, home or road game (H/R), day of game, time of game (early (E), late (L), or night (N)), current projected team total (Imp Pts) per DraftKings, opponent’s 2026 rank vs. tight ends, PPR points per game (PPG), PPR scoring rank for the season (Rank), and percent rostered per FantasyPros (Rost %).

While TEs are the Cowboys strongest position defending, they’re still mid. McBride is TE 1 for me this week.
I wasn’t worried last week about Bowers’ calf injury last week, but I’m not ignoring it this week as he’s still a limited participant on Wednesday. I can’t help but think it was partly the cause of his lower output in Weeks 6 and 7.
Tyler Warren was back at practice Wednesday since his late-week injury before the Colts’ Week 6 game. I’m proceeding as if he’s playing, but my eyes are on the participation reports.
Kraft and Pitts are getting bumps due to Loveland’s matchup in Seattle and LaPorta’s vs. Minnesota. One thing to keep an eye on in Green Bay: Matthew Golden is questionable for Thursday; if he does not play, that puts more of a burden on Kraft, Christian Watson, and Josh Jacobs. The Panthers have been good against WRs, less so against RBs and TEs.
Travis Kelce is still dealing with an ankle injury, but he was a full participant Wednesday. He and Noah Gray were two of the (relative) bright spots for KC against the Seahawks.
Dallas Goedert, Hunter Henry, and T.J. Hockenson all have great matchups on paper. Hockenson has the added incentive of playing against his former team, but the Lions did a credible job against Kraft this past Sunday.
Darren Waller provided a bright spot for an otherwise dark day for the Panthers in Week 7, hauling in a 50-yard TD. I’ll ignore that it came well after the game had been decided and that it was his only catch of the game.
I could be too low on Chig Okonkwo. The Eagles are a tough matchup for TEs, but the Giants and 49ers are above average and he did well there. There appears to be chemistry with Jayden Daniels. A couple of trips to the end zone and his value skyrockets.
I really want Jake Ferguson to have a bounceback this week after getting shutout in Philadelphia. I’ll make him my deep dive start of the week. The Cowboys have the highest implied points for the week, and Ferguson is too good to top out at 4 receptions for 43 yards in a game for the season.
More comments about Raridon: he hauled in a 30-yard TD in Chicago, and Maye targeted him in the RZ as well, although Maye should not have thrown that pass. Raridon has 12 targets and two 50+ yard games in his last three. I like this kid.
Having George Kittle, Likely, and Juwan Johnson out this week? Not cool, but I got you. Thanks for stopping by!

Hock @ Detroit or Kelce @ Denver? PPR
Hi Chucky:
Thanks for your question!
I’m going with Kelce this week. I know the matchup is great; that’s why I have him as high as I do. But the Vikings have underperformed on offense in good matchups. Hock only has one game with more than five targets, and “revenge” games are for fans and analysts. Most players are going to put the team first, and like Justin Jefferson alluded to, what they’re doing is working. If I played Hock, I’d be hoping for a TD.
I still like Kelce as the volume play. Rashee Rice is practicing. If he plays I’m a little higher on Kelce, so I’m watching that situation.
I hope this helps!
Dave
