Welcome to the Razzball streamer article!  I’m coming to you live from my brand new laptop, and let me tell you, compared to my old lap top, it’s incredible.  I feel like I went from a Ford Fiesta to a Tesla.  So I know that I have expressed my annoyance in the past with Cris Collinsworth and how he commentates on Sunday Night Football.  That will never happen again…

C.J. Prosise rushes against the New England Patriots

If you played your cards right, 2016 may have been one of the best seasons ever to roll with a zero RB strategy in your draft. Not only have there been a litany of running back committees utilized across the league, but legitimate RB1s and RB2s have been emerging all year. Take a look at this list: Jordan Howard, Devontae Booker, Spencer Ware, C.J. Prosise, Robert Kelley. Those guys were all either not drafted at all or were taken later in drafts as a handcuff or dice roll option (I actually drafted Booker in one league but dropped him after a few weeks because I need the roster spot. D’oh!).

My apologies for the quick and short and sudden intro, but I have hit a “creative writer’s block” when it comes to the intro for the week. Alas, I do not have any stories to tell and rapidly tie back to fantasy football. Hopefully it works for next week.

So let’s just jump right into it, cool? Alright.

Welcome to the Razzball streamer article.  It has certainly been a week of surprise and self-reflection for all of us.  Whether you’re happy about the result of the election or not, it’s time for us to focus on things that we can change, our fantasy football lineups! The bye weeks continue to roll in/ and it’s been my job to help you with those fill-ins.  I hope you have found my weekly findings helpful as I’ve been lucky enough nail at least two players per week lately, usually at least one quarterback and one defense.  I was definitely disappointed that I missed out on the San Diego Chargers this past week though.  (I overlooked Mariota’s turnover tendencies.)  If I happen to overlook a player that you may like and I missed it, feel free to ask me in the comments section.  Let’s get to this week’s plays…

Welcome back, everyone. I apologize for missing last week, but I had a bunch of running around to do and was never able to settle down and hammer out the Week 9 Handcuff Report. Let’s just assume that I gave you great advice last week and that you’re back this week for more. Ok? Ok. Good. Great. Now, about those running backs.

The Oakland Raiders have been really fun to watch this year unless you have been trying to predict running back touches all year. While Latavius Murray was frustrating earlier in the year and then got hurt, but one thing he has done all year is find his way into the end zone. And in a week when a ton of people probably benched him because he was going up against the defense of the Denver Broncos, he decided to get into the end zone three times. Hopefully, you rolled the dice or were forced to start him because of bye weeks and injuries, but I know that many of you didn’t start him. I probably wouldn’t have.

Hey everyone, welcome to the weekend! It’s been a long week (or at least for me), but we are finally here. It’s Saturday. The ‘Bama game will be on soon.

For those that don’t know, I am currently a student, and I’d like to talk about something I’m currently studying. In my Psychology class, we are going over memory processes, which includes mostly recognition and retrieval; fully understanding an event (or series of events) that has just occurred, or remembering an event (or a series). Some of you may already know a little bit about this. Two of the bigger terms we are covering currently is constructive processing and hindsight bias (lightbulb!). Constructive processing refers to the retrieval of memories in which those memories are altered, revised or influenced by newer information. Hindsight bias, on the other hand, is the tendency to falsely believe, through revision of older memories to include newer information, that one could have correctly predicted the outcome of an event. Know the term “Monday Morning Quarterback”? That’s a prime example of hindsight bias.

Fantasy Football is purely based on interpreting data (doesn’t have to be numbers and charts, it could be just injury news, matchups, etc.) and applying this info to our lineups and teams for the week. But sometimes, past events has a great influence over our future moves. Have you ever said to yourself, “Jesus man, why the hell did you not start ____ against the ____?? Stupid!”. Don’t fault yourself, that is a pure example of hindsight bias. We’ll try to eliminate recent events from our thinking, but it’s nearly impossible to do so. This player has been on fire, let’s continue to ride the hot hand. Should we always think this way?

Let me bring this back to the week ahead, by going back to last Sunday night, where the Cowboys mounted a pretty sizable comeback en route to an overtime victory against Philadelphia. Was this shocking, especially the results of Dez after a full comeback from his injury? I say yes. The Eagles had (and still have) arguably a Top-5 pass defense, and against a WR who hadn’t seen the field in a while, all looked good and well for the Eagles to make a strong statement on prime-time TV. But that wasn’t the case, Dak and Dez looked very good together, especially when you consider they hadn’t had a chance to form completely chemistry. So when we consider all the factors, was the result truly surprising? Sure, it was a tough matchup on paper, but Dez has been one of the best offensive weapons in the last couple of years when healthy, with arguably the ROY lead dog at the helm, we should have been all over him. And, we should be on him as a Top-5 wideout rest of season.

Oh, and this week he’ll play the Browns.

world-series

Welcome to the Razzball Streamer series… I am writing this a day later than usual because Game 7 of the World Series had me too stressed yesterday.  I’ve been a Cubs fan since a kid, one of my favorite memories from when I was young was seeing Sammy Sosa hit a game changing home run in the 7th inning against the Diamondbacks while me and my dad cheered from seats down the 3rd baseline at Wrigley Field.  Last year, we went to a couple Cubs games at Miller Park in early August when they were in the heat of the Wild Card race.

Nothing compares to last night.  I wasn’t within a 300 mile radius of Cleveland, but the energy at my house was unreal.  I got to watch it unfold with my wife, my dad, my kid, and a couple of my good friends.  It is still surreal that I cared about baseball in November.  I’m 28 years old and can’t imagine what it was like for fans twice or three times my age to finally see the Cubs win the World Series.  I guess it is just nice to be in the winner’s circle for once.  I’ve never been in a better mood.  So I’ll try and pass you these good vibes with some good streamers for Week 9!

Hey guys! I’m glad to be back after a week off in which I took the ACT, but now I cannot wait to jump into Week 8 of the NFL season. Big thanks to the main man MB for taking over this column last week, he absolutely nailed it with some of the selections, most notably Jameis Winston and his dominating performance against the 49ers. But I’m still better-looking.

Anyway, I had to miss last week due to my taking of the ACT test, which reminded me of Fantasy Football. We prepare as long and as hard as we can, even maybe spending money to prep for the test, yet we still do not know what will be on it: so we need to not only be prepared for it, and we need some luck on our side. It helps if we also can pull off at least one lopsided. But I don’t know how that last statement refers to the ACT, but at least we got it out of the way.

This week kinda marks the halfway point of the year. Leave a comment down below of what your record is, and if I and this column, or even Razzball in general has contributed to your success. Or declines. Accentuate the positive.

Of first matchup of Week 8 comes between two styles of football in the AFC. One marked by a solid defensive unit, and on offense, marked by a traditional conservatism offensive attack, and in turned, marked by strength at the HB position. Then we have the Colts…

Welcome to our Week 8 streamer article.  We had a great week last week with the New York Giants DST and Ty Montgomery.  Let’s keep the momentum going this week!

Who are these people who are out on the NFL?  It seems like that is all that I hear about on podcasts and radio shows anymore.  I understand that good primetime games are hard to come by but bad football is better than no football, right?  I just know that in March when there’s no football, I’d much rather watch the Jaguars and Titans than a regular season basketball game.   Let’s get to some streamers…

If you were to define the 2016 fantasy football season in one sentence, I challenge you to do better than this: Jay Ajayi has more rushing yards in the last two weeks than Todd Gurley has all season. It has been that bad, and that sentence describes both how surprisingly good Ajayi has been the last two weeks and how disappointing Todd Gurley has been all year. It’s tough to say if those two backs will continue going in different directions, but they are currently following the same paths as their respective offenses. The Rams aren’t giving Gurley any space, while the Dolphins, with their front five finally healthy and playing together, are dropping bodies for Ajayi. Ajayi’s stock has never been higher, now that he is officially the top man in Miami. Which brings us to…

NFL: Chiefs v Colts Wild Card game

Welcome to the Week 7 edition of Start Em’ and Sit ‘Em.  I’m filling in for Zach this week, but he will be back next week, so don’t worry. If you are interested in reading my weekly article, I produce the streamer article which comes out on Thursdays.  I picked two players per position to start, and two to sit.  I know Zach usually does three, but I’m not as smart, talented, or energetic.  I’m just better looking. Whether any of that is true or not… well, let’s get right to it with some quarterbacks.

Welcome to the Razzball Streamer article. I’m going to keep the intro short tonight as I prepare for my debut podcast appearance with my fellow Razzballians.  We will talk about football, West World and perhaps even the debate, so be on the look out for that to come out.  We have had quite the week of running back injuries, surprise bye week torn ACLs, and other really weird stuff.  So we have plenty of streaming options which makes my job easy.  So let’s get right to it!
