Week 6 is almost over and another big name has gone down. We’ll get to that shortly. I’m coming to you late on Sunday night and I’m probably going to win a match up because Evan Engram is outscoring C.J. Anderson on Sunday Night Football. This is just how unpredictable fantasy football has been this year. Let’s get to the games!

Ezekiel Elliott owners are still shaking off their own CTE issues from this week’s shocking yet not so shocking (which makes this mildly shocking I guess?) news that the Fifth Circuit Court upheld Elliott’s six-game suspension. I hadn’t heard screams that loud and high-pitched since David Johnson was put on the IR. While Matt did a fantastic job covering the breaking Zeke news this week, I wanted to make sure and shed some light on who it actually is that’s playing with all of our collective livers…

The Fifth Circuit isn’t just a very conservative court — 10 of its 15 active judges are Republican appointees — it also includes some of the most unapologetic and ideological conservative judges in the country. Five Fifth Circuit judges joined an opinion saying that a man could be executed even though his lawyer slept through much of his trial. The court once sanctioned a high school cheerleader after she sued the school that told her to cheer for her alleged rapist. Its former chief judge was recently under investigation for allegedly claiming that African Americans and Hispanics are predisposed to violent crime. [Source.]

So yeah, this doesn’t really count as political content, simply because after reading that paragraph, I don’t really care that they’re conservatives in this context, only that they’re spiteful idiots. It’s like probably not even in the top-1000 decisions that this circuit has made out of Jerkdom. Which is either a kingdom full of jerks or beef jerky. IT CAN’T BE BOTH PEOPLE. Regardless, the NFLPA will ask for a full panel rehearing of the case through the court’s appeals process, which means Zeke plays for now. Next week?

Hold on, I think I hear some more screaming…

Here’s your updated Razzball Fantasy Football Rankings for Week 6 (STD, Half-PPR, PPR, IDP) including our updated Staff Consensus, Player Status Updates, and an opportunity to ask those all so important roster questions to myself, MB, and Zach in the commentary section!

Now that my little Fantasy Football science experiment is over I’m going to change things up a little bit. You wouldn’t believe all the hate mail I got in the past couple of weeks. It seems my ESPN accounts have been locked out and someone even toilet papered my front yard. Enough is enough. Going forward I’m just going to give you my top six picks for the week. The only rule for a pick is that a player cannot be considered a stud to be eligible. Recommending Antonio Brown helps no one.

Before we get started let’s quickly see how I did last week…

Sometimes you’re the dog — sometimes you’re the hydrant. Ben Roethlisberger was one of my QB sit recommendations last week and this week he is my first QB start recommendation. Last week I recommended you start 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin and this week I want nothing to do with anyone on offense for San Francisco. What a difference a week makes!

I’ve got your cure for the bye week blues right here:

Tired of clicking multiple links just to look up where one of our writers ranked Gerald Everett? Wondering who Gerald Everett is? Good, because I’m with you on both counts! With MB and Zach providing the Razzball readers with their own rankings (a contrarian consensus, as I like to say, to pretend I’m clever), we’re going to provide our 2017 Fantasy Football Staff Rankings for the first time ever, a place where you can find all of our weekly rankings in one spot! The players will be sorted by our average ranking, providing you a great way to see how the Razzball Staff feels (questions posted in our comment section will be answered by all ranking writers!), and it’ll also provide our specific rankings so you know how each of us feel about a player. So many feels, so little time. Follow us after the jump for your Official 2017 Razzball Staff Rankings for Week 6!

Another wild and crazy few weeks in the books!  We saw the Detroit Lions lose on a buzzer beating touchdown review that overturned Golden Tate’s dive for the endzone and the Philadelphia Eagles win on a franchise long 61-yard field goal from a rookie kicker in Week 3! Week 4 saw a shocker in new England where the Panthers won 33-30 on a last second field goal. and the New York Jets won an OT game on a Chandler Catanzaro field goal.  In Week 5, we saw the emergence of Texans QB Deshaun Watson, who scored 5 TDs on Sunday Night Football.   The remaining undefeated team is Kansas City Chiefs, while the winless teams of 2017 include the Browns, Giants and 49ers. Speaking of the Kansas City Chiefs, rookie Kareem Hunt has basically taken David Johnson’s talent “Space Jam” style as he has been electric with another 69 (nice!) yard touchdown run combined with nearly 90% usage rates out of the backfield on 29 carries last week.

Since I’m sure Jay from Razzball.com has all the major news of Week Six here, let’s dive into the main reason you clicked on this link; Razzball 2017 RCL updates on Fantrax!

While the sample size is obviously very limited through only five weeks of football, please don’t be too elated or discouraged if you see your squad throughout the rest of the article.  Below, you can see the Top 10 list of most combined fantasy points across all Razzball RCLs:

There comes a point during the baseball season where the NFL ramps up and my ADD can’t handle the two tracks. Inevitably, as my fantasy baseball teams fade away, I get so pumped in all the early drafts for fantasy football. The draft and holds, regular draft prep, training camp buzz… And here we sit in NFL Week 6, and I’m back in the baseball pool. Cubs possibly getting screwed over by a rain postponement, the Yankees taking down Kluber in Game 5. What the hell is going on?!?!? With a great first round of MLB playoffs and the clusterf*ck that has become my fantasy teams with all the injuries, it’s hard to resist the baseball pull. But just remember that it’s not just you suffering through the injuries and ineffectiveness. You may have that one dude in your league who’s dodged all the bullets, drafted all the late round guys that ended up hitting.. But this game is a fickle bitch that comes for our pride and dignity just when we think we’ve got it beat. Stick with us, and we’ll help you pull it out. All of the phrasing intended with that right there. Let’s go streaming! As always, I focus on guys owned in less than 65% of leagues after waivers run on Thursday mornings in Yahoo leagues. Bring your green hat Snoop-aloop!

After a few weeks of solid results and hanging out in the top-20’s, another middling week returns. While this happens about three times a year on average, I can admit that last week was pretty bizarre for me. I joked in my review that the only thing I did learn from Week 5 football is that I don’t understand football, but perhaps there’s a foundation of truth there. Running backs still confound me, almost as much as Joe Flacco’s eyebrows. And while the season, especially the Fantasy Football season still has a ways to go, playoffs should be on everyone’s mind…

Welcome back to the RazzBlitz Podcast!

Zach and I power through the Week 6 slate so I can catch the end of the Cubs game. I should have just made him podcast for two more hours. We talk about the tragedy that is Ben Roethlisberger and Ju-Ju Smith Schuster vs. Martavis Bryant. Other topics include: Breida vs. Hyde, how incredible Deshaun Watson and Alvin Kamara are, and Aaron Rodgers’ outlook against the Vikings!
