As you are reading this, I may be stranded in an airport as Hurricane Florence bares down on the Carolinas. If all goes well, I will not be able to comment on your posts this week, as I’ll be celebrating our first anniversary with my wife on the beaches of Curacao (and reluctantly missing week 2 and a huge Packers-Vikings matchup). Hopefully she doesn’t read this. Anyway, I’ll be back next week  answer any questions!

In this week’s dive, let’s take a look at some players that are on the tail-end of their careers. They shouldn’t cost much to acquire from a team in re-build. Knowing when to trade future assets for players that will help you now is crucial. Similar to the trade deadlines in Keeper leagues, you have to know when to go all in, or when to sell off your studs. Here are few guys that are worth giving up future assets for.

It’s the best time of the year. The week that the new NFL season kicks-off is an exciting and hopeful time. With the majority of fantasy drafts completed, most of us are sitting around and admiring the teams we drafted. Perhaps you are in a dynasty league and admiring the team that you have built over the past few years. If you are in a dynasty league, or thinking of joining one, I’m here to help you along the way. For those of you that haven’t taken the dynasty plunge, hopefully you will be inspired to join a start-up league or create your own. Although my future posts will be dynasty focused, there should be plenty of information that will help you out in all formats.  Let’s dive right in and take a look at a few rookies that will look to make an impact this year, and have the potential to impact the fantasy landscape for years to come.

Brandon Marshall, Antonio Brown, Marques Colston, Shannon Sharpe, Julian Edelman, Michael Turner, Darren Sproles, Pierre Garcon, Derrick Mason. All of these players were drafted in the 4th round or later and went on to become useful real life and fantasy players. There are plenty of people out there telling you why to draft Derrius Guice over Rashaad Penny (Guice is #2 in my dynasty rankings and Penny is #4). And if you want to hear the full break down of all rookie running backs and wide receivers, you can always go check out my podcast with @DonkeyTeeth87, Ditka, Sausage, and Fantasy Sports, hosted by Razzball, where we reviewed 21 rookie WRs and 18 rookie RBs.

Today though, I’m here to give you a list for the back end of your dynasty drafts. As the list at the start of the article shows, there can certainly be some hidden gems in the late rounds of the NFL draft and your dynasty start up. Let’s uncover some stones like Cornelius and Maxwell from the old SNES game.

In the golden age of rookie production in the NFL, it’s only right that I give them their own article. We had two rookies finish in the top 10 in the 2017 season and neither of them were Christian McCaffery or Leonard Fournette. Kareem Hunt, who finished #9, made a late push in the 2017 fantasy draft season at the expense of Spencer Ware’s season ending injury. When it was all said and done, Hunt was going in the third and fourth round in a lot of leagues.
