We have sort of an exciting week for start and sit. There are some smaller names with great match ups and that makes this more fun to write than usual. It might give me a chance to differentiate from other sites’ start/sits. Because every fantasy site and blog has a start/sit column, right? At least I hope so. These match ups are juicy and not terribly hard to find. By now, we have a pretty good idea which defenses to stack against and which matchups to try and avoid. Let’s start with a TNF play at the quarterback position.

Week 7 is upon us and Thursday Night Football is back after a one week hiatus. I think we should make Tuesday night football a regular thing instead of Thursday. Thursday night games hardly even feel like a game for the week of the Sunday games. Tuesday night football still gives us 3 days of football, but it makes them flow better. I’m probably just bummed that my choice of football if I oblige is an NFC East game tonight. There won’t be a play for tonight’s game this week, so here are your starts and sits for Sunday!

Le’Veon Bell pulled the ultimate fleece on the New York Jets. Well, either that or the Jets fleeced themselves by signing Bell and then hiring a head coach that wouldn’t use Bell correctly. Gase and Bell were a match made in Hell from the beginning, so the end result is not a surprise at all.

Le’Veon Bell expressed frustration about his usage after the Jets’ loss on Sunday, and boom, a couple days later he was cut, cleared waivers, and was free to sign with whatever team he wished. Being a New York Jet on Sunday and then a Kansas City Chief by Thursday is like going from the mail room to CEO in four days. Also, anyone who thinks that the New York Jets Bell is going to be comparable to the Kansas City Chiefs Bell is high on crack. Bell is 28 years old, and only a few years removed from being one of the three most dynamic backs in the NFL. His workload has been light since his last year in Pittsburgh, including a year away from football and some missed time this season.

It’s that time of the week again! Thursday night football will be played just hours after you read this. It’s week 5, which means the beginning of bye weeks. Bye weeks are another road block to go along with the plethora of injuries and COVID cancellations that are surely on the horizon. There might even be a cancellation this week between Buffalo and Tennessee. But we must trudge on and work with what we have. Hopefully you still have some healthy studs to get you through the tough times.

If you are clicking to make last minute lineup decisions and are looking for a start from tonight’s game, you came to the wrong place. I do have a recommended sit for tonight’s game which we will get to a little later. The media is reporting that the next game or two are very important for his employment status. A win at home on Thursday just has to be a must for Gase. There isn’t a better spot for the Jets to get a win left on the schedule. If Gase doesn’t win this one, he might as well pack up his office before he goes home. I understand that a lot of players came to Gase’s defense after their on Sunday, but I know that he can’t be super popular in the locker room. It’ll be interesting to see if the full team rallies around him and puts on an inspired effort. Hear are your start/sits for week 4!

So far I have enjoyed the challenge of putting out a weekly start/sit article. A lot of these are foreshadowed in my weekly rankings (13th in accuracy for FantasyPros last week)! But also, writing this column has helped me take a closer look at my rankings the day after I publish them and it makes me notice that what I put out on Wednesday is far from a finished product. If you use my rankings, be sure to check back on Sunday because they will look a lot different. I love gambling on football. I’ve been doing it for years and I still have a roof over my head so I guess it’s not going too bad. I do a lot of digging from Thursday-Saturday when looking at game lines and totals and it helps find the errors in my ways from a fantasy aspect earlier in the week. If you’d like a second opinion on my start and sit options, be sure to check out Rudy’s projections each week! Now would be as good as a time as any to use that 7-day free trial. Let’s get to the plays for week 3.

Here comes your week 1 disclaimer! Individual roster talent has everything to do with how you use the information in this post. Different folks have different strengths and weaknesses on their roster. If I say that I don’t like JuJu Smith-Schuster this week and you are in a 14 team league and your next best option is Sammy Watkins, that doesn’t mean that you should take “sit JuJu” as gospel. It just means that I like other players in a certain player’s tier more. I’ll specify if I think a player is going to put up a donut. Let’s sort through the rosters and find the plays for week 1.

Welcome to the championship week. If you are still here and reading, I am assuming you are still involved in your fantasy leagues. Of course, in any serious league, this means the championship game and not a semi-final or first week of a final. Really, Week 17 folks?

With winning a title in mind, let us take a look at some games this weekend and more importantly, matchups which could help you in your quest. We have seen some break outs in the two previous weeks of the playoffs. Some expected and some not so much. This is why no one, not even the great Matthew Berry or Evan Silva are 100% right. If you are the type of person who takes the advice given in any article as the be all end all and start threatening analysts or their families because of it, re-evaluate your life and especially your morals.

Welcome to the playoffs.

If you are reading his, you have had a good season, or at least been lucky enough to make the playoffs in your league. Let’s look at some Week 14 matchups we can exploit or avoid while trying to move on to the semi-finals and beyond.

Of course, no one and no process is perfect. There will always be the Adrian Peterson or Derrius Guices of the world to show that. But these are educated predictions of who may or may not deserve a spot in your lineup this week.
