Don’t be sad that the fantasy football season is over; be glad it happened in the first place. If you are one of the many football enthusiasts who play dynasty-format fantasy football, however, you know the season never truly ends. We might be getting ready for the Super Bowl and making our picks, but there’s no time to rest. Between now and the beginning of training camp is when champions are made. We will be in the trenches, following all the breaking dynasty fantasy football news, trades, draft picks, free agent signings, and rumblings amongst NFL media, so you don’t have to.

Every week, the Dynasty Diehards will be breaking down all the relevant information from around the league and helping you make sense of it. This week, Nate and Jon discuss their Super Bowl predictions, picks for the big game’s MVP, including a sneaky defensive sleeper, and what helped bump up Tyjae Spears’ draft stock at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Who Comes Out On Top This Sunday

Super Bowl LVII is shaping up to be a fantastic affair. The two best teams in the NFL regular season are squaring off in Glendale this Sunday. Expectations for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are sky-high. The current over/under on this game, per DraftKings Sportsbook, is set at 51 points. Philadelphia is favored by 1.5 points.

This Sunday, the key to winning a championship will land on these teams’ respective defensive units. Can Patrick Mahomes find the equation to best the league’s best defense in Philly? Will the Eagles’ electric combo of Jalen Hurts, Miles Sanders, and AJ Brown be too much for the Chiefs to handle?

Super Bowl MVP Picks

Someone outside the quarterback position rarely wins an MVP award in the Super Bowl. Case in point, 11 of the last 16 prestigious award winners have been signal callers. This year isn’t shaping up to be much different. The odds in Vegas favor Mahomes (+ 120) and Hurts (+125). The next best odds are on Travis Kelce (+1200) and Brown (+1800). However, it’s not unheard of for a defensive player to have such an overwhelmingly impactful performance that voters can’t ignore it. Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick (+3000) has been a cornerstone of the stonewall Eagles defense and could be a dark horse who bucks the trend this year.

Super Bowl Prop Picks

Part of the fun of the penultimate NFL contest is having some skin in the game. The availability of sports books across the United States and beyond is on the rise. It’s become more accessible for anyone to join in on the fun. Here are a few prop bets we like. Check out this week’s episode for more!

  • Isiah Pachecho (RB – KC) OVER 16.5 Receiving Yards (-110 on DraftKings)
  • Will there be a Flea Flicker? YES (+210 on DraftKings)

Rookie Watch – Tyjae Spears

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is complete. There were a lot of takeaways from the first of many showcases for incoming NFL rookies. One player who stood out and bolstered his draft stock ahead of the NFL Combine is Tulane ball carrier, Tyjae Spears. Despite his smaller frame (5’10 “, 205 lbs), he showed an ability to play much larger while still maintaining elite-level agility. Did he do enough to sneak into Day Two on the draft this April?
