On this week’s dynasty rankings update, we’re talking breakouts. These players are going to have career years while taking your team to the title, well that’s the hope anyway. And no, I won’t be cheating and talking about rookies. If you haven’t already, make you subscribe to Razzball so you can enjoy all the awesome tools and content we have on the site. As every dynasty league is different and every team has different needs, I’ve taken a neutral approach to my rankings, assuming PPR, 4-point passing touchdowns and a roster of 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1FLEX. I’ve also balanced win-now value and building for the future so my rankings sit somewhere in the middle of those two extremes. If you need help valuing players in your specific situation, message me on Instagram @TheFantasyFirstDown or on Twitter @FantasyFirstDwn, plus you can find my full positional and rookie rankings at ffdfantasyfootball.com If you need IDP rankings you can find them on my website while I also do paid personalised rankings, as advertised on Razzball last year. Anthony Richardson (IND)
Dynasty Rank: QB9
We saw a hint of what Anthony Richardson could bring to the league during his injury-shortened cameo last season. Richardson’s rushing floor gives him the week-to-week stability you want in fantasy while he’s also got a true WR2 in Adonai Mitchell to elevate his passing game. I’m still wary on taking Richardson too high in dynasty though. Rushing quarterbacks tend to have shorter shelf lives and Richardson doesn’t have the accuracy of youngsters like Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams and CJ Stroud. But he’s such a dynamic athlete that I’m still willing to make him my dynasty leader knowing he should be good for at least the rest of the decade.

Isiah Pacheco (KC)
Dynasty Rank: RB10
The biggest Chiefs piece not returning this season is Jerick McKinnon. Assuming the Chiefs do indeed go forward with just Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, you’d have to feel good about Pacheco emerging as a true Top 10 running back. With McKinnon active, Pacheco received 40-65% of snaps. When McKinnon was out injured, Pacheco jumped to well over 70% snaps, with that number increasing even further when CEH was out. Pacheco’s ceiling is immense in a high-powered Chiefs offense that made Kareem Hunt a star. The breakout is coming.

Zamir White (LV)
Dynasty Rank: RB20
With the uber-talented Josh Jacobs out towards the end of last year, Zamir White emerged as a fantastic replacement in Vegas. Now the clear number one in a run-heavy offense, it’s easy to be bullish on White. I don’t think 1000 yards rushing is out of the question (even though only one player did that last year) but I’m very concerned about the receiving work. Only 12% of White’s career touches have been receptions and the Raiders have drafted an excellent receiving back in Dylan Laube to challenge Ameer Abdullah. I think White is ultimately a talented runner but in PPR he’s a limited fantasy asset. He should have a great year on the ground, but he’s unlikely to be anything more than a RB2. In Half-PPR though, I really like him as a breakout option.

Drake London (ATL)
Dynasty Rank: WR18
This one’s easy. Drake London finally gets a good quarterback and a competent play-caller. Surely in 2024 the sky’s the limit! I do think this offense will be very good this year but it’s worth remembering London will still be competing with Bijan Robinson and Kyle Pitts for targets while Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore aren’t the no-name mugs he’s shared with in the past. A breakout is inevitable, but can you afford the exorbitant price required to get London on your roster?
George Pickens (PIT)
Dynasty Rank: WR23
Another player finally getting a competent QB is George Pickens. As an added bonus, he even loses target hog Diontae Johnson from his WR room. My greatest concern around Pickens is the play-calling. Arthur Smith is the new OC and he’s got a history of wasting good talent. Nevertheless, even in a run-heavy scheme, I still expect a big year from Pickens. And even if a breakout doesn’t happen immediately, Pickens is still a supremely talented receiver who is finally free of the injuries that hindered his later college years and rookie NFL season. He’s a solid fantasy asset who should be a WR2 for years to come.
Noah Fant (SEA)
Dynasty Rank: TE22
For anyone who heard me talk about Fant last pre-season, this will be a big surprise. I was very nervous about emergence of a committee tight end approach in Seattle late in 2022 and rightly eased off Fant. But the play-callers have changed, the committee is gone, and it’s just Noah Fant and a heap of run-blockers and aging veterans. Fant is the clear receiving tight end in this offense and I think he could be due a second breakout (acknowledging he has already had a few excellent seasons). I primarily mention this because he’s almost free in dynasty. I recently took him in the late 18th round of a dynasty startup with other fantasy experts when the previous picks that round were: Treylon Burks, Chig Okonkwo, Tez Walker, Dameon Pierce, Isaac Guerendo, Theo Johnson, Tucker Kraft and Adam Thielen. Yes, that’s how far Fant has fallen. The dude is only 26 years old! Take a chance on him.
As always, please leave your comments and dynasty trade questions below and please consider subscribing to make use of the many awesome tools available on the Razzball site. I’ll be back next week with more dynasty updates.
