Nike-signs-Jameis-Winston-Marcus-Mariota-Melvin-Gordon-and-Amari-Cooper

With the early slate of games nearly in the book, we can now turn our attention to the late games, where there are even more marquee match-ups featuring legendary players, long held rivalries, and the ultimate in what we know as professional football. And that’s just the Titans and Buccaneers game I’m talking about. Hyperbole aside, the game does feature an intriguing match-up between two rookie quarterbacks; Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston.

My reaction to this wonderful quote went something like this…

I feel this is what John Elway looks like when the Broncos score a touch down. Or avoid using the fax machine.

If horse neighing isn’t your thing, there are other interesting games like the Saints at the Cardinals, Lions at MY San Diego Chargers, Bengals at Raiders, and probably the most elite match-up with Joe Flacco’s Ravens travelling to Denver to see how Peyton Manning’s arm strength is doing…

Our rankings have been updated for today’s games and can be found here.

    Now that TY Hilton is out with knee injury which Colts WR should I add? Moncrief or Dorsett?

      I like Moncrief, but I think Dorsett has the higher ceiling.

    Would you drop Boldin or LFitz to put in a waiver claim on Percy Harvin in a PPR/return yardage league?

    had to go mallett over geno (in that league with QB overvaluing, owning hoyer, and there’s a super flex) in that 14 teamer with no waivers, so huge advantage to those at internet when news breaks, i’ve been both screwed by this once (forgot what QB last year), and did well twice (got sanchez last year, and now mallett. turns out youse guys were right about BUF winning. Tod dog ruled.

      @Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: Yeah, I was going to say, Mallet looks okay today. I figured they were going to give Hoyer a longer leash, but maybe I forgot it was Hoyer.

      The Colts defense looked so shitty.

        @Jay: if this wasn’t the kind of league where i could’ve grabbed somebody midgame i would’ve added mallett over g.smith anyway, but knew i could since i’d be at internet.

        Also, your boy Green F’d me in the A with his fake to miss the week, i added cumberland in a 20 teamer (also have gates) since it didn’t look at all as late as 24 hours ago that green would play. If cumberland played in the NYJ game nobody saw it. Now since it’s yahoo i can’t even waiver him and somebody else might. other “options” are lewis/housler/fells/harbor. fells is at least getting targets if i can’t reaquire green.

        and also, is k.robinson a decent add as RB #6, he appears to be stealing half of ingram’s carries. already trying to waiver d.williams as a bell owner in standard (and good god williams appeared to have stolen the body of a much younger person in that game).

          @Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: I honestly thought Green was out… I don’t think I even ranked him. I was surprised.

            @Jay: somebody is gonna very likely waiver him over me getting him. sucks. i realized k.robinson only had that usage with spiller out, so even as a spiller owner this guy isn’t an add. However in standard leagues it’s sounding like d.jo (ARI) is. In that 20 team league where my offense is this
            QB KC 1/RG 3 (start 1)
            RB AP, A.Morris, Michael, Helu, Sims (start 1)
            WR D-Jax (out),Garcon, Agholor, A.Roberts
            TE Reed, Donnell, ASJ
            Flex (can be a TE)
            K mcmanus
            Somebody grabbed McCoy, which could be troubing for my having any chance at having a starter if KC gets hurt or demoted yet again. The settings in this league where changed somewhat this year (seemingly to strengthen IDP players and balance out RB’s being worth more than WR, since we only have to play 1 RB). In fact, even with D-Jax/KC 1 having the games they had, i’m on pace to be the 4th best team this week due to good IDP players.
            Settings: completions +1, incompletions -2 (this used to be 1/-1), 20 Yds per pt (same as last year), bonuses of 2/4/6 at 200/300/350 (same as last year. TD throws 5 (i think were 6), picks -5 (were -3), sacks against -3.
            5 Yds per point (so double, last year 10) rushing, with 5/7/10 bonuses at 100/150/200. 1 pt PPR but receiving yds have been halved, with 15 per point (so rushing yds worth 3 times more, last year was 10 per pt), bonus of 3/5/7 at 100/150/200. fumbles -1, fumbles lost -3. pick 6’s -7. 40 yd throwing on single play bonus of 2 pts, 4 pts for 40 yd rushing play, 2 pts for 40 yd catching play, 5 for 40 pt TD rush.
            kickers are overvalued too, with
            0-19 worth 2, 20-29 worth 3, 30-39 worth 4, 40-49 worth 5, 50+ worth 6 (so napping mcmanus seems very good), missed short 19 under -5, 20-29 -4, 30-39 -3, 40-49 -2, missing 50+ -1, extra pts 1 and missed xtra pts -2. For IDP’s, 2 for solo tackles, 1 for assisted tackles, sack 4, pick 5, fumble force 2, fumble recovery 3, defensive TD 7, safety 5, pass defended 1, blocked kick 4, tackle for loss 3, TO return yds 5 per pt, extra pt returned 2. So with all this at this point, having only 3/4 of collins/donnell left and AP/Agholor 158 of my 205 have come from IDP or kicker. All this being true and these RB out there: j.allen/blue/powell/taliaferro/ballard/oliver should i drop Helu for Sanchez or Oswelier, it’s looking like Forehead is a few weeks from retirement and Bradford has got to be one of likest injury risks at QB. Or should i just wait and keep trying to trade Donnell for a RB of some similar value before even thinking of dropping Helu?

            And just how in the F is that Donnell catch (he ran about 3 whole steps with ball in his hands not bobbling) called an incompletion?

              @Aubrey Plaza’s Pillow: According to Colinsworth, that savant, the tie goes to, whatever, I have no idea. He put me into a nap.

              I’d say give yourself a week deadline on a Donnell trade and reassess then.

    Didn’t get to see the Colts game, but should I be looking for a replacement for Andre Johnson?

    • Jay

      @Robert: Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeee did not look good. Next week is going to be another tough game, so I’d look for some backup or depth, not exactly a replacement.

        @Jay: ok
