Don’t be sad that the fantasy football season is over; be glad it happened in the first place. However, if you are one of the many football enthusiasts who play dynasty-format fantasy football, you know the season never truly ends. So while we might be staring down the barrel of the NFL offseason, there’s plenty to be done as a dynasty manager. Between now and the beginning of training camp is when champions are made. After that, we will be in the trenches, doing mock drafts and following all the breaking dynasty fantasy football news, trades, draft picks, free agent signings, and rumblings amongst NFL media, so you don’t have to.

Every week, the Dynasty Diehards will break down all the relevant information from around the league. This week, Nate and Jon mock the entire first round of the NFL Draft to see where some of the highly anticipated incoming rookie prospects might land in April.

Diehards NFL Mock Draft 1.0

A lot can happen between now and April 27th, but it’s always fun to hypothesize where some of this incoming rookie class might land. We did just that in the latest episode of Dynasty Diehards.

The Bears Stand Pat

One of the most discussed topics around the upcoming NFL draft has been what the Chicago Bears will do with the first overall pick. Will they trade away Justin Fields and select Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud? Will they trade the pick for a haul and stick with Fields? What if they did neither of those things? The Bears would be best served to take Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter to shore up their rushing attack and run defense.

Out With The Old In With The Bijan

The one weakness the Philadelphia Eagles offense had in 2022 was their rushing attack outside quarterback Jalen Hurts. While veteran Miles Sanders was efficient early in the season, he faded down the stretch and was a non-factor in critical situations for Philadelphia. This is their chance to upgrade with the 10th pick in the draft. No team ahead of them is looking to draft a running back, and Texas stand-out Bijan Robinson will be ripe for the picking. Adding Robinson will allow the team to give Hurts a much-needed break in the rushing attack and keep him fresh and healthy all season.

Round It Out

The Kansas City Chiefs tore through the NFL in 2022 without having a marquee wide receiver. Sure, Juju Smith-Schuster had his moments, Marquez Valdez-Scantling was serviceable, and Kadarius Toney got hot down the stretch, but let’s be honest. Patrick Mahomes was the reason any of them had any success this past season. Head coach Andy Reid surely knows if they want to make a run in 2023, this will need to change. Travis Kelce is a year older, Toney has proven unreliable thus far in his career, and MVS is, and always will be, MVS. That’s why the Chiefs will take a shot on the University of Houston wide receiver Nathaniel “Tank” Dell. While undersized, his speed and agility are reminiscent of Tyreek Hill, and he could make an explosive offense even more so next season.
