Quarterbacks

  • Player: Drake Maye
  • Game: vs. Saints
  • Stats: 18-26, 261 passing yards, 3 TDs, 2-PT, 28 rushing yards

After defeating Josh Allen in Week 5, Maye followed up with his best fantasy performance of the season. His three passing TDs tied a career-high and are the most he’s thrown this season. Four different pass catchers have been Mayes’ top target through six games.  The Saints have allowed the seventh-most points to QBs and will face the Bears in Chicago in Week 7. Mike Vrabel is set for a revenge game against the Titans next week, but it will be the Mayes’ toughest matchup this season. Tennessee allows the eighth-fewest points to QBs.

Notables:

Bryce Young tossed three TDs against the most advantageous defense to QBs this season. Young gets his third opponent in the top 10 against QBs in the NY Jets, who limited Bo Nix to 174 yards and one TD  in London.

Dak Prescott tossed three more TDs and no picks against the Panthers, who rank in the bottom third against QBs. Prescott has a 10/0 TD to INT ratio over his last three games. He’ll face the Commanders next week, who rank in the upper third against QBs. The Panthers have allowed 6 TDs over the past two weeks and will face Justin Fields, who has thrown four TDs in five games.

Matthew Stafford had his worst performance of the season against Baltimore, who is giving up the second-most points to QBs in 2025. He’ll have another top-10 matchup against Jacksonville in Week 7.

Jacoby Brissett made the surprise Sunday start at Indianapolis as Kyler Murray deals with a foot injury that could cost him some significant time. It’s not a stretch to say the passing offense looked better under Brissett after throwing for 320 yards and one TD. Murray has yet to throw over 300 yards season and did so only two times in 2024. The Colts were allowing sixth sixth-fewest points to QBs entering Week 6. The Packers are next for the Cards.

Patrick Mahomes is on a mission to keep the Chiefs relevant in the AFC hierarchy with his outstanding play.  He’s produced two or more TDs in five of six games, after tossing three TDs and a rushing TD against the Lions on SNF. He’s currently the QB1 in fantasy and is set to get Rashee Rice back. The former Red Raider is set to raid Las Vegas in Week 7.

Baker Mayfield is a dawg. His aura is contagious to his pass catchers, whoever they may be. His floor appears safe for 250 and two TDs on any given week. I don’t expect the Lions to slow him down following Mahomes performance.

Uncle Joe Flacco was serviceable with 200+ yards and two TDs in his debut with the Bengals. He’s a QB2 in superflex with the potential for more.

Daniel Jones rushed for his fourth TD and tossed two TDs against a difficult Cardinals defense. He’s posted four games of 2+ TDs, each with a rushing score, becoming a QB1 in the process. I like his chances to continue his strong play against the Chargers.

Sam Darnold and Trevor Lawrence had themselves a QB duel with each throwing 250+ with two TDs and zero turnovers. Both will be strong plays with tough matchups in Week 7.

Bo Nix is regressing in front of our eyes. Hard to trust him next week against the New York Giants.

Running Backs

  • Player: Rico Dowdle
  • Game: vs. Cowboys
  • Stats: 30 carries, 186 rushing yards, 4 receptions, 56 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD on 5 targets

Dowdle’s revenge game was one for the ages against Dallas. I think Dowdle has earned the starting role even when Chuba Hubbard returns. His 473 total yards in the most since Dalvin Cook’s 478 total yards in 2020. Dowdle will look for his third consecutive game over 200 all-purpose yards against the Jets, who permit the eighth-most points and ninth-most rushing yards to RBs. I would hate to miss out on the generational run that Dowdle COULD go on, but look to sell high while you still can!

Notables:

De’Von Achane posted his first 100-yard rushing game and two-score game of the season against a tough Charger defense against RBs. Cleveland is next up on the schedule, which held the Steelers’ RBs to 74 rushing yards and 25 receiving yards.

Jonathan Taylor looks like the overall RB1 this season. He posted his third game over 100 rushing yards and scored his league-leading seventh rushing TD. JT will set to face the Chargers, who allowed Achane’s best rushing performance of the season.

Kimani Vidal was the next man up for the Chargers’ backfield, who out-snapped (43-20) and out-touched (18-6) Hassan Haskins. Vidal was one of five players to rush over the century mark in Week 6 in a plus matchup against the Dolphins, who allow the fifth-most points to RBs. The Chargers will face the Colts, who allowed Bam Knight and Michael Carter to tally 100+ total yards and one score.

The old Derrick Henry emerged from the ashes of the Ravens’ playoff ambitions with his second 100-yard rushing game of the season. He and Ravens get a very timely bye week in Week 7, then face Chicago and Miami, who both rank in the top five in conceding the most points to RBs.

Coming out of the bye week, Josh Jacobs faced a Bengals defense that allows the most points to RBs, and he did not disappoint, scoring the third-most points by an RB in Week 6. He’ll have another advantageous matchup against the Cardinals, who allowed JT to finish as RB5.

Breece Hall was grounded by the Broncos’ defense despite logging the fifth-most touches by an RB in Week 6. Volume will keep Hall in the RB2 conversation against the Panthers, who confined Javonte Williams to 34 total yards.

The Broncos’ backfield is becoming frustrating because of the scheming by Sean Payton. RJ Harvey has three-plus receptions in four games, but only had a 28% snap share vs the Jets. JK Dobbins led the team in snaps and touches, finishing with 40 rushing yards. Denver’s next two games are against the Giants and Cowboys, who are in the top 10 in points allowed to RBs.

Travis Etienne Jr. has been caged up, tallying two consecutive games with 12 rushing attempts while averaging 56 total yards. Etienne averaged 16 carries with 106 total yards in his first four games. He’s still the top RB in Duvall County, totaling 45 out of 74 snaps in Week 6. Next week doesn’t appear to bode well on paper, but should be unleashed after seeing King Henry run over the Rams’ defense.

The dreaded RB by committee has officially landed in the Seahawks nest. Zach Charbonnet played more snaps (33-19) and received more touches (13-11) than Kenneth Walker III. You may want to avoid both against the Texans, who are coming off a bye week.

Wide Receivers

  • Player: Jaxon Smith-Njigba
  • Game: at Jacksonville
  • Stats: 8 receptions, 162 receiving yards, 1 touchdown on 13 targets

Smith-Njigba was in peak performance against the Jags’ new-look secondary with three receptions of 20+yards, including a 61-yard TD. He’s posted consecutive games with 100+ yards and a TD. In addition, he’s up to five games with at least 100 yards or a TD. JSN has a difficult matchup against the Texans, who are coming off a Week 6 bye week. Houston has only allowed Puca Nacua to tally over 100 receiving yards back in Week 1.

Notables:

George Pickens was able to overcome the Panthers’ 30th-ranked defense to WRs, posting his best game as a Cowboy with 168 yards and tuddy. Pickens has now scored six TDs in five consecutive games. He’ll look to add another, facing the Commanders, who have given up six receiving TDs to WRs through five games.

Kayshon Boutte was able to locate the booty twice in New Orleans. His five targets led the team while playing the most snaps. DeMario Douglas produced a 58-yard TD and had a 61-yard TD erased by a questionable OPI call. The Patriots seem keen on distributing snaps and targets among their pass catchers. This was Boutte’s best finish since Week 1. Stefon Diggs is still the trusted New England WR for fantasy purposes.

Uncle Flacco appears poised to return Ja’Marr Chase’s stripes. Chase finished with 10 receptions for 94 yards for one TD on 12 targets. The former triple crown winner has back-to-back games with double targets and TDs. The streak should continue against the Steelers, who allow the seventh most points to WRs.

Tetairoa McMillan scored his first two TDs against the laughable Cowboys secondary while tallying his worst yardage output on the season. The Jets are next, who wrangled in Courtland Sutton at London with 17 yards.

I feel for the Niners’ WRs passing corps. The best WR in the NFL, Ricky Pearsall, missed his second consecutive game. For the second consecutive game, Kendrick Bourne stepped up for Mac Jones, posting his second game with 142 receiving yards. Be sure to check the injury report before San Francisco’s next game against the Falcons.

DK Metcalf’s chemistry continues to grow with A-Rod, connecting on their fourth straight TD. Metcalf drew a season-high nine targets, recording 95 yards facing the Browns. He’ll have a favorable matchup against Cincinnati.

Jaylen Waddle paced the Dolphins’ WRs in all receiving categories from snaps, targets, and yardage. He might be the safest WR2 moving forward. He’ll face the Browns in Week 7.

Brian Thomas Jr. scored his first receiving TD and posted a season-high 90 receiving yards. BTJ has put together his best two-game stretch of the season. He could have scored another if it wasn’t for Travis Hunter lining up offsides. Hunter played his most snaps on offense this season, generating the second-most targets, but his lowest yardage total. The Jags duo will face a beatable Rams secondary in London.

Ladd McConkey recorded his second TD and first 100-yard game of the season with Quentin Johnston inactive. Keenan Allen posted one fewer target than McConkey, finishing with just 27 yards. The Colts are next, who allow the seventh most points to WRs.

Puca Nacua’s status is unknown after suffering an ankle injury against the Ravens. Why can’t we have nice things?

Calvin Ridley sustained a hamstring injury and left after playing six snaps. Van Jefferson and Elic Ayomanor paced Tennessee’s WRs. Ayomanor is the clear favorite to make some noise should Cam Ward start to get into a groove.

Garrett Wilson’s TD streak ended as he posted his worst game of 2025 against the 31st-ranked Broncos defense to WRs. Wilson is set for diagnostic testing for his knee or hip. Not good for the Jets offense.

Emeka Egbuka left the game with a hamstring injury and did not return. The Bucs are now down to their fifth and sixth WRs. I’ll let Matty Stiles fill you in with his favorite waiver adds for Week 7.

Tight Ends

  • Player: Trey McBride
  • Game: at Indianapolis
  • Stats: 8 receptions, 72 yards, 1 touchdown on 11 targets

The move to Brissett led to McBride’s best game of the season, tying a season-high in targets, second-highest yard output, and bringing in his second TD. I like to call this the McRib and Brisket connection. Harrison Jr. left the game due to concussion-like symptoms, leaving Zay Jones and Michael Wilson as the top WRs. McBride ran the most routes and snaps of any Arizona pass catcher. Expect the same against the Packers in Week 7, who allow the ninth-most points to TEs.

 Notables:

Tyler Warren was just as good as McBride, pacing the Colts’ pass catchers against Arizona. He’s becoming a mainstay in the passing offense that faces the Chargers in Week 7, who rank in the bottom third in allowing points to TEs.

Darren Waller has four TDs in three games with Miami. He’ll hope to make it five against the Browns, who’ve given up three TDs, tied for the third most.

Sam LaPorta has strung his best two-game stretch of the season against difficult opponents. He scored his second TD and has drawn six targets in each game. LaPorta has a top-10 matchup against the Bucs in Week 7.

Entering the best matchup for a TE, Tucker Kraft generated just two targets against Cincinnati. He was able to muster a 19-yard TD, but his talent leaves much more to be desired in fantasy. We may never get to see his full potential in Green Bay. He’ll get the Cardinals next, who allowed Warren the TE3 finish in Week 6.

Pickens overshadowed Jake Ferguson against the Panthers, who allow the second-most points to TEs. Like Kraft, he completed a 19-yard TD and did little else with three targets. I foresee a bounce-back in Dallas against the Commanders.

Oronde Gadsden has placed himself on the TE map. He’s taken over as the TE1 in LAC, playing the most snaps and running 32 routes, second behind Tre Harris and McConkey’s 33.  His performance coincides with Johnston missing the game, but he should continue to be involved.

Michael Mayer did his best Brock Bowers impression and could get another opportunity should Bowers miss the game in Kansas City. The Chiefs allow the second-fewest points to TEs, but allowed LaPorta to have his second-best game of the season.

The move to Dillon Gabriel has benefited the Cleveland TEs. Harold Fannin Jr. drew a team-high 10 targets, resulting in 7 catches for 81 yards. David Njoku suffered a knee injury, and his status for Week 7 at home against the Dolphins is up in the air. Fannin should be a great stream against Miami, which allows the fifth-most points to opposing TEs.
