The 2018 off-season was an exciting one for Kirk Cousins. Not only did he earn the only fully guaranteed contract in NFL history, he also earned the highest paying contract in league history as well, a grand total of $84 million over three years. Expectations were high for Cousins in his first year for the Vikings, and unfortunately for him, it didn’t go very well. The Vikings failed to reach the playoffs for the second time in three seasons.
Please, blog, may I have some more? The first thing that should be written here is that Chris Godwin is good at football. He may even be great and there’s a chance he’s elite. Unfortunately, the founding fathers of our game decided not to reward actual skill, but rather on field production in real games. Of course, this is a 101-level point to make, but it’s worth remembering. A tremendous amount of buzz is building for Godwin and recently an article was published entitled Why You Should Worship at the Altar of Chris Godwin. Now, this is not intended to be a rebuttal to that article in particular but more a sensible tapping of the breaks as draft season approaches.

Please, blog, may I have some more?Choices. It is what we as fantasy owners deal with leading up to the draft, as we make our selections, and throughout the actual season. Every season we have particularly polarizing athletes that offer a wide range of outcomes. This leaves their ADPs with wide high-to-low pick margins and make it difficult to get a grasp on what the true projection of the player, because the floor/ceiling combination is different than all of the similar players around them. My aim is to present one player who can make or break your season from each of rounds 1-4 that fits this criteria and follow up with my personal view on that player.
Please, blog, may I have some more?If you ask 100 fantasy analysts who they have as their #1 QB in fantasy, I’m sure 100/100 would tell you that it’s Patrick Mahomes. However, if you then ask them who their #2 QB in fantasy is, and you’ll get a variety of answers. Some will tell you it’ll be Andrew Luck. Some have Deshaun Watson. Some are going back to the Aaron Rodgers well. However, I’m here to tell you that we should be strongly considering Baker Mayfield as the QB2 in fantasy football this season.
Please, blog, may I have some more?As we continue through the draft rankings journey, there are a lot of names on this list that could end up being league winners for you. Any of the three Rams receivers could have an exceptional season and anyone on this list could end up with 1,200-1,300 yards and a bunch of touchdowns. The fun part is picking the right players in the draft. So let’s roll the dice and see if we can come up with some answers for your WR2-WR3 spots.Â
Please, blog, may I have some more? The draft accuracy rankings for Fantasy Pros came out on Sunday morning and for my first year competing in the contest, I think that I did alright. I finished 57th out of 154 competitors and I would have done a lot better if it weren’t for those meddling running backs! Rex Burkhead, David Johnson, and Peyton Barber wrecked my running back chances to the tune of a finish of 126th at that position. On positive notes: I finished 8th in quarterback accuracy, 35th in wide receiver accuracy, and 12th in tight end accuracy. Also if you need kicker advice holler at your boy, I finished 2nd in kickers. I’m guessing that kickers don’t figure heavily into the algorithm. In year two, my goal is a top 10 finish.

Please, blog, may I have some more?Continuing another similar piece to what I’ve been writing about this past week or so, today we’ll be taking a look at Explosive Play Rankings from Sharp Football Stats. Over the past week or so, I’ve been talking a lot about finding fantasy value and bargain players that come from the most successful offenses, or offenses that prioritize the pass or run compared to other teams. Well, today, we’ll be diving into Explosive Play Rankings, and finding out which offenses have explosive run games, and which offenses are explosive through the air. In turn, this should further help us on draft day by targeting lucrative offenses that will produce some of the best fantasy players.Â

Please, blog, may I have some more?Do you guys remember Gary Barnidge? I was just combing through the depths of Fantasy Pros tight end results from recent seasons and my heart skipped a beat when I saw that he finished as the third overall tight end in 2015. My writing time in the evening is very valuable. I need to use every minute to the best of my ability after working 10-hour days Monday-Friday at my full-time gig. But, I just spent about 20 minutes trying to find out what the hell happened to Gary Barnidge and where he went. It’s no wonder I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder as a child, right?
