With Training Camp in full-swing, it’s a perfect opportunity to take a look at some key players that are entering their final year of a contract, looking to prove themselves to their team or multiple teams if they’re likely to hit free agency. In recent news, many elite football players have been holding out of training camp in order to get new deals, like Ezekiel Elliott, Melvin Gordon, and up until a recent contract extension, Michael Thomas.

How Is David Johnson Impacted By Kyler & Kliff’s Air Raid?

As of early August 2019, David Johnson appears to be the consensus 5th pick after Barkley/CMC/Elliott/Kamara. Below is a screenshot from our RazzBowl partner’s NFFC ADP.

My projections have David Johnson as RB8 for PPR (behind the top 4 in ADP as well as Le’Veon Bell, Joe Mixon, and James Conner) so I’m quite divergent from the consensus on this one. I had pick #5 in my RazzBowl draft and went with Davante Adams (ADP #7) when no one was kind enough to let one of the top four fall to me.

We made it to the end of our divisional fantasy previews. Just in time, as the heart of fantasy re-draft season starts and preseason games begin. Keep in mind, our valuation of players and teams change constantly as new information is received. Rudy is on top of his weekly projections, constantly updating them when things change. A couple of weeks ago we were drafting Hill in the 6-8th round, and now you can’t get him cheaper than a 2nd round pick.

Picture yourself in a bizarro-world casino where the gin and tonics aren’t watered down and the roulette table has more black spaces than red. After counting a few times you’re certain there are more black spaces on the wheel. You notice other gamblers are getting normal payouts for bets on black, one-to-one. The odds of winning are greater but the risk is the same as betting red. So I ask you, hypothetical gambler: why would you ever bet on red?

Just consuming the influx of updates and news around the league as every organization fields its players and prepares for the oncoming season is overwhelming. It’s exciting for sure. But it’s also a lot to sort through.
