Another week, another set of results. While there was some slippage (that’s what she said?) in our Week 5 Rankings, the aggregate tells a different story. We’ve actually moved into the magical top-20 of all fantasy “experts” for the year, and top-15 percentile.

In the mean time, as I mentioned in yesterday’s post talking about Razzball Football’s bright future, I wanted to introduce a Razzball-only contest. Yes, it’s hosted by FanDuel, but instead of the large money leagues and bigger formats, we’re getting more intimate (that’s what I wish she said). And it’s just for the Razzball writers and readers… that’s it. Just a $5.00 buy-in and the top-12 finishers are part of the prize pool. We understand that Daily Fantasy isn’t for everyone, so this contest is just the thing we as a Razzball community can get into. For now, we’ll start with 55 spots and see how this week fares. So, if you’d like to take myself and your fellow readers on, join here!

And now, your Week 6 Rankings… (with an updated Rest of Season Rankings!) And, in lieu of our new Razzball Contest this week, I’ll be including a FanDuel Cheat Sheet below!

arian foster/greg olson or sammy watkings; snead, gore?

      @hello!: Foster side.

  2. Nick says:

Morning Jay, I had asked previously about the Ravens defense, using them in my 10-team or grabbing either the Vikings or Bengals as a streamer…now based on your rankings, it appears the Bengals are a few rankings higher than my Ravens, but you had mentioned you like Balty more..I than went to the schedule to see who the Ravens play next to see if that might be an indication of why you would rec commend holding them but they play Az next, so not the easiest week 6/7…should I make the quick swap out for the Bengals? I’m playing the 1st place team so I need all the help I can get & Ravens have not put up big numbers outside of hanging 16 points up week 1…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Yeah, with Tyrod and Karlos still dealing with their injuries, I made the call to upgrade the Bengals. Geno Smith will probably end up being the Bengals best defensive player…

      • Nick says:
        (link)

@Jay: ugh, I looked at Cincy defensive points the first 5 games & I’m not impressed. Although Ravens have been nothing special as well…really tough call here between Cincy playing a depleted Bills team or Ravens playing a brutal SF team….

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Nick: Honestly, they are a few spots apart, but the the top-5 to top-10 are pretty much a coin flip…

  3. Nick says:
    (link)

Also, forgot to ask about my flex spot, I currently have Ty/Hankerson/Garcon at WR & DeMarco/AP at RB for week 6. Bennett at TE.

For flex (non-ppr), do I go Gates, Duke J or Tate? Tough decision but I have a 2 TE setup right now but re-thinking Garcon vs. my Jets..I could bench him for Tate…not best option considering the state of the Lions but Chicago secondary not great…thoughts?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: Yeah, I think Tate for Garcon and Gates in there is probably your best combo.

    • Jay

      (link)

      @Josh: davis for Jstew.

  5. Zandy says:
    (link)

FYI ROS rankings didn’t push thru yet

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: That’s weird, let me take a look, thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Zandy: Should be up now, code issue. Thanks!

  6. IV says:
    (link)

Colts agree to turns with Bradshaw. What kind of value do you think Bradshaw will have going forward?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@IV: I’m interested to find out. I think he’ll certainly siphon snaps from Gore, I could see at least 5-10 to start off with. Solid bench piece for now, but nothing more.

  7. Lex says:
    (link)

Hey bro thanks for the rankings much appreciated. ..I have a trade offer on the table in a 10 team standard scoring setup …I was offered cooks and cooper for cobb and ingram…my other rb’s are ivory foster andrews…my other wr’s are marshall,Evans, amendola, lafell, shorts….I’m thinking no my team is fine the way it is but I want a second opinion.

By the way I’m a Jamal Charles injury survivor lol

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Lex: Of course! Well, I like the deal in a vacuum, but I don’t think it’s the best one for your team. I’d probably hold here. And congrats on surviving! It’s a long road to recovery, that’s for sure…

      • Lex says:
        (link)

@Jay: thanks bro…excuse my lack of knowledge but what does it mean when yall say ‘in a vacuum’….I see it used all the time.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Lex: if we don’t take any other factors into consideration and just the players in the deal.

        • Mantis Toboggan MD says:
          (link)

@Lex: the thing independent of context.

  8. Kendrick Llama says:
    (link)

-1 for qb sacks, still start Russ against a tough panthers D over Tannehill?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Kendrick Llama: Yeah, that dude avoids sacks like no one else.

  9. RePete says:
    (link)

Pick one to start in a 0.5 PPR League:

    Gordon @ GB
    Abdullah vs CHI
    Vereen @ PHI

Right now I’m leaning Vereen considering the O-line seems to be in shambles for the Chargers and Lions, along with the fact that the Giants WRs are all banged up. Thanks for the advice!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@RePete: Going Gordon there, but Ameer is pretty close. Vereen is too, but I think Melvin is will get five catches at least this Sunday.

  10. STeve G says:
    (link)

Morning, in a PPR , West or Spiller?

    • STeve G says:
      (link)

I saw your rankings, I’m just wondering your thoughts on Spiller because you have him rank the highest I have seen. I like him but their not giving him the opportunities.

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@STeve G: Sure, he’s obviously a good PPR choice when he actually plays and is involved, and since Week 2, his snap counts have steadily gone up. 7->15->21 from TB to CAR to DAL. He only at 19 against Philly, that was more due to the Saints have less possession time that game.

        • STeve G says:
          (link)

Tonight should be a shootout, I guess I’ll start him over the unproven West.

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@STeve G: I wouldn’t be surprised if the score went in to hundreds…

  11. johny cueto's hair says:
    (link)

man, my RB situation is a struggle now with Charles gone, especially since it’s a shallow 8 team

PPR league, this week I’m gonna try and catch lightning in a bottle with Charcandrick. Does Yeldon’s ranking at 12 reflect the latest news on his groin (still questionable)?

I have those 2 plus Jeremy Hill, Jonathan Stewart, Melvin Gordon, and Karlos Williams.

Chris Johnson, Duke Johnson, and Spiller are available. How do you feel about them ROS? I think I might pick up Chis Johnson, dropping Melvin or Karlos

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@johny cueto’s hair: I’m holidng Yeldon there until tonight. I know he missed practice yesterday, but I want to see how today plays out.

I’d hold both for now compared to what’s out there.

  12. Philsfan76 says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay,

Curious if you’d start Matty Ice in N.O. tonight, or wait and start Palmer vs. Pit on Sunday. Thanks for your help as always.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Philsfan76: I like Ryan in a dome setting. But it’s a coinflip. I might just put Ryan ahead when I update a few hours before game time tonight.

  13. TOGMAN says:
    (link)

    12 team PPR league

    Drop Abdullah for C. Michael?

  14. Wilsonian says:
    (link)

    1) Play Woodhead over West at Flex?

    0.5 PPR – 3 point bonus at 85 yards receiving/100 yards rushing – 6 point bonus at 135 yards receiving/150 yards rushing

    2) I have #1 waiver. Lamar Miller was just dropped. Do I burn it on him dropping Hankerson? Same stats as above.

  15. Manque69 says:
    (link)

I have Gore, Woodhead, & CJ2K, need 2 for RB2 and Flex in a 12 team standard. Is it a coin flip or is CJ2K clearly below Woody?

    • Manque69 says:
      (link)

…and another thing. With Rapeherburger still out, is Martavis Bryant a non factor this week? Would you start him over Benjamin in a standard league?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@Manque69: I’m still iffy on whether or not he’s going to start. I’d imagine he’d be in the same area if he did.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Manque69: I like Woodhead over Johnson slightly.

  16. Clint says:
    (link)

Okay Jay, so with Julio in Megatron 2014 territory tonight (is he healthy, will he be on a snap count, will he do anything if the run game gets them up), I’m having real trouble filling out my lineup this week. Need 2 WR’s and a Superflex out of:

Julio (@NO), Cobb (vsSD), Megatron (vsChi), Jeffrey (@Det), Foster (@Jack), Ryan (@NO), and/or Bortles (vsHou)
    1.5pt/ppr, 5pts pass TD, 6pts TD everyone else, 40yds/pass pt, 20yds rush & rec & ret yds/pt

I wanna go Julio somewhere but Calvin killed me w/his decoy routines last season in these similar situations and I’m worried the passing game’s fading from the Falcons arsenal especially in a game like this where they may get up early & control it.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Clint: Yeah, I think the safer option would be Johnson in Chicago along with Cobb.

      • Clint says:
        (link)

        @Jay:
What about the Superflex spot then? Bortles, Ryan, Jeffrey, or Foster?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

          @Clint: Probably Matty Ice.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Clint: For what it’s worth, it’ll looking like Julio will not be on a snap count…

  17. ashtray says:
    (link)

I’ve lost a terrible game of whack-a-mole with my WRs so far this season and now I’m sitting at at 1-5 in my 12 team keeper league.

Would you try to send Eddie Lacy to the Jamal Charles owner in a play for next year?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ashtray: Yeah, I’m down with that. Maybe try to net a bench piece with potential along with it.

  18. Rice says:
    (link)

    Rest of season… Pick two:

    A. Morris
    B. Sankey
    M. Crabtree
    D. McFadden
    T. Rawles

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Rice: Morris, Crabtree.

  19. hello! says:
    (link)

with news sufracing with lamar miler “getting more touches, etc” do we wait and see on him or use the info to sell on the potential….

thinking lamar miller/brandon marshall for eddie lacy? or is that risky in itself (is lacy a buy low or a sell low… i can never rate these things well)

    or what about
lamar miller for doug martin or latavius murray straight up??

    thanks

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@hello!: I’d say he’s a RB2 this week, just to see what happens. I do like that deal for you though.

  20. WillisReid says:
    (link)

So I have Bortles and Mariota. It’s basically a coin flip week to week? Bortles outscored Mariota by 30 last week, keep it going?

Also, I have a Jamal Charles owner who is carrying Palmer Peyton and Taylor who is offering me Taylor for DeMarco Murray. Currently rostering Lacy Murray Kwill Sims,Michael, Ellington.

Do I make that trade or hold?

    Looking like this right now

    Bortles/AJ/Edelman/Fitz/ Murray/Lacy/Olson/Gates flex/Hurns flex /McManus/Jets

10 team H2H standard. I have little respect for QB’S.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@WillisReid: Yeah, true coin flip there. I’m fine with either. I would still want Murray there.

  21. E says:
    (link)

Spiller is still ranked fairly high, what’s the reason to believe?

It’s .5 ppr, trying to decide between Stewart, C. West, spiller, bell, and k Davis. Need 3.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@E: Snap count has been steadily rising. I’d go Stewart, West and Spiller. (Unless that’s Le’Veon Bell.)

  22. Rice says:
    (link)

Thanks for all the great advise and write-ups. One more for you…

Drop Ahmad Bradshaw for Rawles…. or wait and see what role develops for Bradshaw?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Rice: Thanks! I’d wait and see for now. Lynch is coming back, which may put Rawles on the back burner.

  23. Money Mike says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, just curious should I trade for McCoy? Do u think he’ll have an impact ROS?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Money Mike: I think he will, but it depends on what you’re giving up.

      • Money Mike says:
        (link)

@Jay: owner is asking for Gio Bernard

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Money Mike: I’d do that trade, yes.

          • Money Mike says:
            (link)

@Jay: Ok whew! thanks I actually did it earlier this morning and didn’t feel right, now I feel alot better. Bad thing is I realized he’ll get to use Bernard against me because it goes through Sunday morning! Smh

*One more question Phillip Rivers or Matty Ice tonight? If Julio plays it’s a no brainer but last week has me worried.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Money Mike: Eh, I think long term, this pays off big time. I don’t think he’ll be on a snap count, so going Ryan here.

  24. Chris says:
    (link)

For tight end in a half PPR i am looking at starting Ertz this week, Mainly because Reed is in his concussion protocol. Would you suggest dropping Reed for Richard Rodgers or would you just roll with Ertz?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Chris: Rolling with Ertz is fine.

  25. Top 20. Very nice!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      Thanks!

  26. Dan says:
    (link)

Spiller at RB19 and Flex 47 seems pretty generous. I’ve started him 3 times for a combined 10 points in a PPR league. It’s like playing Russian roulette with him, except this season you lose every time. You would still start him over Marquess Wilson at the flex?

    Thanks.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

Yeah, the first few weeks were rough, but it’s clear Peyton wants him as part of the offense. His snap count keeps going up.

    • Dan says:
      (link)

I’m going to play Wilson, bench Rishard Matthews, and play Spiller at the Flex. Sound good?

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

        @Dan: Sounds good to me!

        • Jack says:
          (link)

          And Spiller does it again.

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@Jack: To be fair, Ben Watson was like a black hole, sucking everything in it’s path

  27. chadaristic says:
    (link)

If we find out Monday night that OBJ won’t be able to play, how high does Dwayne Harris go up the list in a 1 point PPR?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@chadaristic: Probably 10 more spots or so. I’d like to wait until Friday night to see how that develops.

  28. matthew says:
    (link)

which 2 should I play (standard scoring): Snead, hurns, Carlos Hyde

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @matthew: Hurns and Hyde.

  29. Paul says:
    (link)

need to start one PPR, Knile Davis, Matt Jones, David Johnson, or Ahmid Bradshaw.. .and also who is the most droppable pleaase?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Paul: Probably Jones to start, and at this point, probably Bradshaw, but I’d like to wait on see with him.

  30. lb. sand says:
    (link)

    ouch..
would you go with either boom herron vs cin or j bell vs chi
    over j hill @ buf??
    non-ppr, thx

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@lb. sand: eeesh. Probably Hill there.

  31. Kendrick Llama says:
    (link)

In a super flex league, would you move C. West and Tannehill for Phil Rivers? (-1 for qb sacks)

    Lineup:

    Wilson
    D Freeman
    Gore
    OBJ
    Maclin/Arob
    Eifert
    Tannehill or Maclin/arob

Bench: Matt jones, Lafell, C west, Riddick, and J Hill

  32. Scott says:
    (link)

Need to drop someone in 12 team auction keeper…

    Sproles or Stevie Johnson?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

      @Scott: Sproles.

  33. Moscowitz says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay,
    LaFell or Tate going forward?

  34. Dom B says:
    (link)

    Best starts this week.

QB Eli Manning or Phillip Rivers

RB Jonathan Stewart or Gio Bernard

Flex Keenan Allen or Steve Smith or John Brown

TE Richard Rodgers or Jacob Tamme

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dom B: Rivers, Bernard, Allen, and Rodgers.

  35. PhilOssieB says:
    (link)

3 spots for Landry, Burns, Sneed and M. Bryant. Gotta roll with the first 3, right? Worried the thrusday night game is another slop fest on offense , and this is the week I finally start Sneed and then get burned.

    • PhilOssieB says:
      (link)

      … PPR

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@PhilOssieB: Yeah, go first three. Let’s wait one week on Bryant.

  36. Jack says:
    (link)

Is Marquess Wilson still worthy of a WR3 start even with Royal and Alshon back? Or would you rather play Rishard Matthews or Stefon Diggs?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jack: For one more week, I think so. It’s iffy, but I’d want him over those other two right now.

  37. G-man says:
    (link)

Right now my team has 4 rbs in your top 10 ROS (Peterson, Lacy, Foster, and Ivory), but all my top recievers fall between 10-20 ROS (K. Allen, A. Robinson, and Marshall) I have Luck at QB, Kelce and Olsen for TEs (so I can play matchups with elite TEs, and a few good bench pieces in Landry, Moncreif, and K. Williams.. I’ve been wanting to trade up and get a better WR, but the price has been really steep from my opponents. I feel like I have a really good team and could just be overthinking, but do you think I should make a trade or do I just hold and ride this team for what it’s worth?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@G-man: Don’t force a trade, depth is always good. That being said, you should be able to net a WR1 with any one of those guys, sans Ivory. Make a deal if you can, but don’t sell short.

  38. Barker says:
    (link)

    10 team 1/2 ppr

Drop hillman mathews ( own murray ) lafell watkins For christine michael
    Or hold ?
Other rbs murray gore blount hillman mathews

    • Barker says:
      (link)

      @Barker: or buck allen

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Barker: I think you can switch him for Buck.

  39. Bob Wetlands says:
    (link)

.5 ppr league what side would you rather have

Eddie lacy, Delanie Walker, Deasean Jackson, Duke Johnson Jr.
    or

Chris Ivory, Tyler Eifert, John Brown.

  40. jvillan says:
    (link)

    10 team 2QB 1pt ppm
My Forte for Ingram & Dez Bryant
I’ve got AP, ivory and aj green, jordan matthews, tate, smith sr, moncrief

    • jvillan says:
      (link)

      @jvillan: ppr* not ppm

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@jvillan: Yeah, then I like that trade for you if the playoffs are in reach.

  41. hello! says:
    (link)

trade frank gore and sammy watkins for lesean mccoy?

or what about c. michael and willie snead for him?

its a keeper league and watkins and michael are like $6 to keep. the other players too much to worry abot it (you can only keep 3 ppl/year)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@hello!: I’d rather trade Michael and Snead for him. Depends on what McCoy is at though, and if you plan on keeping him.

      • hello! says:
        (link)

@Jay: no plans on keeping mccoy… hes $50 vs a $6 rb michael… but im trying to win this year. sammy watkins is also $6..

so would you deal a $6 c michael and $6 sammy watkins for essentially unkeepable mccoy (i’ll have other keeper options im not too worried about it)

or you prefer michael and snead still?

i honestly dont like mccoy that much but i could be very wrong and i knkow what kind of upside he brings to the table. especially with rex ryan. im just a buy low fanatic is all.

thank you. you guys do an amazing job. to be able to get a relatively unbiased 3rd party opinion is crucial to doing well. so manypeople (including myself) over value their players soooo much.

@hello!: I think Watkins at 6 bucks in a keeper has a lot of value. If you’re going for the playoffs, I think it’s worth the risk, but I wouldn’t give up Watkins in this format at that value.

hey jay i’ve got one more from above and to add another wrinkle

same idea of giving away a $6 c. michael and $6 s. watkins, to net $50 shady mccoy.

the guy is 0-5 and its a keeper league. he also has AJ green at like $60 (so i probably wont keep him). who of the following would you try to package to get both lesean mccoy and aj green.

    $6 c mike
    $6 s watkins
    $30 alshon jeff
    $2 james jones
    $5 martavis bryant.

    thanks much.

@hello!: For both? I’d probably do all of them except Alshon.

Hey, Jay! Can you rank Andre Johnson, Terrance Williams, Tavon Austin for ros? Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:

@Jerry: Williams, Austin, and Johnson. Johnson could overtake both if he continues what he did against the Texans. I’m not too optimistic though…

i need 1 wr, 1 rb, and 1 flex from the following:

lamar miller, justin forsett, frank gore, brandon marshall, alshon jeffery, martavis bryant, willie snead

i own matt ryan and devonta so i kind of want to sit snead so i don thave too much exposure to one game.. does this even make sense?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@poppinbottles: does make sense. Go Forsett, Marshall, and Jeffrey.

Geez I cant win…Tate & Hilton are questionable for me this week…all I have is Garcon on bench & Hankerson is WR3 (going to possibly regret that with Julio a full go & vs. me this week). Cooper on bye…I guess I wait & see, if need be I plug Garcon, ugh…

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Nick: I think it could be okay. Cousins will have to force it to someone.

      • Nick says:
        (link)

@Jay: Well if DeSean plays, that could open it up for Garcon since Revis would not be on him…if DeSean out, Garcon is screwed.

So would you prefer Tate playing slightly banged up or Garcon vs. the Jets? Does your opinion change if DeSean is in/out?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Nick: Garcon, and maybe. Not sure how up to speed Jackson will be. I’d say he’s a threat, but not a major one. And going up against Revis is okay, he’s generally rotating on different guys.

if i want to add devante parker who should i drop from by running backs i have todd gurly, cj spiller, doug martin, joe randle, knile davis, david johnson, matt jones, and ahmid bradshaw…. i have bean loading up because everyone has been struggling except gurly and martin

so any one else is droppable? what is the best move i obviously can’t keep everyone

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Paul: Probably have to pick between Johnson and Bradshaw. I think Johnson is sorta expendable if you want to gamble on Parker.

man, in one league with 2 flexes and 3 WR i have to bench hankerson or gates and play olsen. want to guess the record of having that lovely problem….hahah

    starters
    a.rob/allen/julio
    TE olsen
FLEX hurns/ and 1 of hankerson or gates

I also have Rivers (but Dalton starting) we have big benches but roster restrictions so we all have 2-4 QB’s, so i’m quite connected to ATL and JAX’s passing games.

What’s up dude? Y’all plan on coming back to BMore?

If Big Ben plays, would you rank Antonio Brown higher than Frank Gore in a standard league?

I hope so! I lived in Owings Mills for a minute. Yup, Brown would rank higher.

    8 team PPR league

so Yeldon is Q and game time call Sunday, right now I have Melvin Gordon (@GB) and Charcandrick (@MIN) in my RB spots. my opponent got 30 something points from Freeman last night so it’s looking pretty bad at the RB matchup.

K Williams is still concussed and didn’t practice again today. You told me to hold a couple days ago but with McCoy’s imminent return and the fact that you have both Chris and Duke Johnson ranked above both my current starting RB’s, would it make sense to drop Williams for one of them? And if Yeldon plays Sunday should I def start him? PPR

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@dom: Yeah, I think Yeldon is a start. Green Bay is a tough start, I wouldn’t lose faith long term on Gordon. I still like Williams too. I would still hold and hope that West can provide something good this weekend.

  51. Matty says:
    (link)

With Shady McCoy now listed as probable (and his Instagram confirming it), where do you think he slots into your RB or FLEX lists?
I’d rather he sit another week or two and then be really fixed for the second half.

  52. Mex says:
    (link)

You have Antonio Brown higher than Jordan Mathews in your ranks, but if you had Odell Beckham and Hopkins going this week would you start Mathews over Brown considering the match-up? I just really don’t trust Vic.. but it’s still hard for me to bench Brown with all his potential.

  53. Pppphhh says:
    (link)

Hey! Would you trade Matt Ryan and frank gore to get Aaron Rodgers?

The guy desperately needs a rb..

My other trade idea with the same guy is frank gore and Brandon Marshall for deandre Hopkins…

Both trades leave me with : Forsett, freeman, miller, Coleman, c Michael at rb.
