The Stats Machine and I are still riding our Halloween highs. Pro tip: Don’t get low. Also, TSM would like to point out the following:
Based on average score per game, here are some lesser owned running backs in the top-25 TSM rankings. With an average score of 19.86 Jerick McKinnon is someone that should definitely own.I have him in both of my leagues. He is ranked ahead of the likes of Jamaal Charles (19.61), Eddie Lacy (18.41) and Lamar Miller (18.76). Ronnie Hillman comes in at number 18 with a score of 18.09 and is another guy TSM sees as a potential must own. The way he’s been running the ball and the way Montee “wasn’t running the” Ball makes me think Denver would be crazy to give the job back to Montee Ball-less. Other backs of note include Darren McFadden (17.26), Joique Bell (16.47), Shane Vereen (16.09) and Mark Ingram (15.33).
TSM would like you to keep Anquan Boldin (18.59) in mind when considering trades as a great player to try and get added into a deal. I doubt he’s available in your league, although it looks like he’s owned in only 76% of Yahoo! leagues. Right now he’s ranked ahead of Brandon Marshall (18.11), Roddy White (17.98) and Kelvin Benjamin (16.61). And as usual I’d like to give a shout out to my boy Andrew Hawkins (18.15).
Hidden Rupees Category 1: Best of the Rest (Weekly)
These are the players that are owned in less than approximately 85% of most leagues that were top performers based on last week’s stats.
Running Back: Theo Riddick (25.7 SAV)
Vin Diesel starring as Theo Riddick had only 3 carries for 5 yards. So why on earth is he here? That would be his 8 catches on 12 targets for 74 yards and a score. In his previous game he had another 5 receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown. While Riddick doesn’t appear to be much of a threat on the ground, he has been quite the PPR back while Reggie Bush has been out. Honorable Mention: (Ronnie Hillman and Lorenzo Taliaferro)
Wide Receiver: Martavis Bryant (34.35 SAV)
No relation to Dez, but with 5 catches on 7 targets for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns Martavis put up Dez-like numbers. In the 2 games he has played for the Steelers Bryant has 7 receptions for 123 yards and 3 touchdowns. Move over Dez. Well not quite, but he has certainly caught the attention of The Stats Machine. Honorable Mention: (Brandon LaFell)
Tight End: Heath Miller (29.4 SAV)
Anyone get any Heath bars this year while trick or treating? Me neither. But if you were one of the few that started Heath Miller last week you racked up a cool 7 receptions, 112 yards and a touchdown. Miller’s had one other good game this year. The rest are the reason he is lightly owned and rarely started. Honorable Mention: (Mychal Rivera, Tim Wright)
Hidden Rupees Category 2: Best of the Best (Weekly)
These are the best performing players based on last week’s stats regardless of percentage owned.
Running Back: Arian Foster (38.4 SAV)
Now this is the Arian everyone has been so hoping to see for the last 2 years. With 20 rushes for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground, Foster was a beast. But he wasn’t done there. Foster also had 4 catches for 22 more yards and another TD. Arian truly is a running back supremacist. Grab yourself a can of Foster’s and enjoy. Honorable Mention: (Eddie Lacy)
Wide Receiver: Jeremy Maclin (43.6 SAV)
Twelve receptions on 16 targets for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns! Holy Mac(lin)kerel. If you went up against Jeremy last week it must have felt like you had been hit by a Mac(lin) truck when you saw how many points he scored. Honorable Mention: (Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown, Larry Fitzgerald)
Tight End: Rob Gronkowski (37.95 SAV)
Guess who’s back. Back again. Gronk is back. Tell a friend. Nine targets, nine catches. Gronkowski had 149 receiving yards and 3 touchdown catches. He looked practically unstoppable. He’s been getting healthier all season and at this point I think that only thing that can derail him from being the top tight end for the rest of the season is an injury. Honorable Mention: (Heath Miller)
Hidden Rupees Category 2A: Best of the Best (Year To Date)
Running Back:
Matt Forte (32.91)
DeMarco Murray (29.19)
Arian Foster (28.32)
Wide Receiver:
Antonio Brown (27.91)
Demaryius Thomas (26.47)
Jeremy Maclin (25.07)
Tight End:
Martellus Bennett (21.09)
Greg Olsen (20.78)
Julius Thomas (20.01)
“Keep Them Hidden” Rupees: Duds of the Studs (Weekly)
These are the worst performing studs of the week.
Running Back: Marshawn Lynch
Sounds like an ugly situation in Seattle. Wonder where he’ll end up next season.
Wide Receiver: Julian Edelman
Dear Rob Gronkowski. Stop interfering with Edelman’s production.
Tight End: Greg Olsen
After several weeks at the top I’m giving Olsen a pass on this one.
Examine the stats yourself… (Downloadable Excel)
Flex Start: Charles Sims, Odell Beckham Jr., Michael Crabtree, Percy Harvin Thanks!
@Bae: Beckham. I need to see how things shake out in Tampa for a week before I dive head first on Sims. My answer may be different next week.
Need help with a trade offer I received!
In a 16 team league non ppr
Was offered c patt and joquie bell for my mackinnon. Ive made trades to get stacked wr’s buy buying low on allen and thomas but it’s left me thin and rb… Thanks Ball! Not sure who i’d drop here for c patt, not a huge fan with his supporting cast but who do you feel would be the better rb ros here? Any possible trade I could try? Everyones searching for rb’s
Qb: rivers
Wr: demarius thomas
Wr: alshon jeffery
Rb: mackinnon
Rb: taliaferro
Te: kelce
Flex: keenan allen
Bn: allen robinson
Bn: montee ball
Bn: alfred blue
Bn: martavis bryant
Bn: tre mason
@BraunWeasleys: I think Bell and McKinnon are almost equal, but at this point I’d rather have McKinnon.
Better spot start this week at QB Big Ben @ BAL Andy Dalton @JAX or Alex Smith @NYJ
I’m flying high with a Jimmy Smith-less Balt secondary vs the new Pittsburgh version of Air Coryell. Big Ben is a big time passer with his new boytoy Bryant.
@Dom B: Big Ben by a little over Dalton. Good luck!
QB Kaepernick
QB Newton
QB Rivers
RB Bradshaw
RB Miller
RB Oliver
WR Maclin
WR A. Johnson
WR K. Benjamin
TE Graham
TE Reed
W/R Baldwin
W/R Mason
BN J. Gordon
BN S. Smith
BN Tate
BN V. Davis
Should I drop Johnson for Steve Smith or Mason for Steve Smith since rams are playing niners.
Also put Reed on the bench for Davis?
Need some help
@Clos: sorry not drop Johnson just put him on the bench for smith
@Clos: I’d start Johnson over Smith. I’d start Smith over Mason. Reed over Davis.
My roster should I trade TY Hilton and Kelvin for Antonio brown and he rejects that Kelvin and Crabtree for brown
QB – Aaron Rodgers – Packers
RB – LeSean McCoy – Eagles
RB – Andre Ellington – Cardinals
WR – Kelvin Benjamin – Panthers
WR – T.Y. Hilton – Colts
WR – Michael Crabtree – 49ers
TE – Larry Donnell – Giants
PK – Steven Hauschka – Seahawks
DEF – Baltimore Ravens – Ravens
Bench:
QB – Ben Roethlisberger – Steelers
RB – Fred Jackson – Bills
RB – Charles Sims – Buccaneers
WR – Odell Beckham – Giants
WR – Percy Harvin – Jets
TE – Delanie Walker – Titans
@Dom B: No one in their right mind would give up Kelvin and Brown for Hilton. I would definitely trade Kelvin and Crabtree for Brown.
deep league, 12 man, 3 flex spots, need 1 flex spot got a ton of guys on bye week, jonas grey or charles sims
@mcBlunty: I’m leaning towards Gray. He had a great game last week. I’m a big fan of Sims, but he hasn’t even played a down yet this season. Gotta go with the known over the unknown, but I think my answer to this question could be different next week.
How do you become a razz ball writer for football
@Guru: Train, say your prayers, eat your vitamins, be true to yourself, be true to your country…be a real American.
Better to get in trade sanders or marshall? Team is 7-1 but need best wr2
@Mike: I’m leaning towards Sanders, but in standard scoring I can see the argument for Marshall. I prefer to have Peyton throwing my guy the ball over Cutler.
Taliaferro or Simms?
@Robert: Taliaferro this week by a little bit. Sims rest of season.
@malamoney: got it
Our standard league only allows 3 Bench spots…w/all the Byes this week Fred Jackson appeared on the waiver wire. My Bench spots are full w/ G. Tate, A. Jeffery and Rashad Jennings occupying my bench.
I stand at 6-2 and am beginning to think about the playoffs. While every week is important, I’m leaning towards dropping M. Wallace for Fred Jackson and taking a 0 for that spot this week. I’ll list the rest of my team below.
My question: should I do this move or am I overthinking? I’ve been looking for quality RB help all season and I feel I can find a WR3/4 easy enough. I’m worried Jennings return will be lackluster, but cannot drop him. Thoughts?
QB-Peyton
RB-Gore
RB-Hillman
RB-McKinnon
WR-Dez
WR-M. Wallace
TE-Julius T
BE-A. Jeffery
BE-G. Tate
BE-R. Jennings
Thanks in advance,
JRJ
@John Rambo Jr: I’d hold. No reason to drop Wallace for Jackson with the RBs you have. As long as Jennings returns healthy he should be fine. If you were really looking to upgrade at RB, I’d consider making a trade. Perhaps Wallace and an RB for a better RB.
@malamoney:
After sleeping on the aforementioned idea, I agree w/ your thought process concerning Jennings…injury is worrisome tho
This league is pretty lame in the trade dept. I’ve been making offers weekly to a couple different teams w/ no success. It’s either my trades being lopsided in my favor or they are pussies, tough to tell which is the case
Thanks for the response
Ros in std league martevius, moncrief, Hawkins, john brown?
@Zandy: It’s a toss up between Hawkins and Martavis. If PPR, I’d definitely say Hawkins. But standard it’s real close. It will be interesting to see how Josh Gordon’s return impacts Hawkins.will his numbers go down because he gets less targets or up because defenses will have to focus on Gordon. On the other side Martavis has looked great in his first 2 games. I’ll give the slight edge to Hawkins.
Pick one, non-PPR
Baldwin, ODB, Randle
Thanks!
8 team half ppr…. Will have some bye week issues coming up as I have Dez, foster and l. Bell. I struggling with idea of staying put or trade away bye week players. I’m 5-3, in 3rd where four make playoffs. Would you pull the trigger on any of these deal?
A-
Give: foster, gore, Crabtree (my wr5)
Receive: charles and hillman or miller
B-
Give: bell and Dez
Receive: Ellington and d. Thomas
C-
Give: bell
Receive: McCoy and Bennett (my TE is allen)
Do you think I will win I have Big Ben, TY Hilton, Odell Beckham, Larry Donnell, Steven Hauska, And ravens d and I’m losing by 40 pts but he has Emanuel Sanders, Joe Flacco and Amad Bradshaw
so in my 10team non-ppr, the trade I offered this week (my Edelman for his K Allen) was JUST approved! Ha, go figure, Edelman is lighting up my bench and now he is shipped off for K Allen due to the upset of the CHargers in Miami….so did I still get the better end of this deal?
Also, I can drop Dalton now, pickup Sims, T West, M Bryant, Landry or K Britt? I could definitely use WR help as I have Cobb, Allen, A Johnson, Cooks, Sanu & Beckham (& at RB I Have Murray, R Jennings, Ingram, McKinnon, & Matthews)…what would you do with those free agent options?
@Nick: I Could also grab DOnnell as a backup to Witten for week 11….thats another option if you dont like any of the above…
So the score is me with 45.5 pts while he has 86.9 pts. I have Big Ben, the ravens D, Odell Beckham Jr., Larry Donnell, TY Hilton while he has Joe Flacco and Amad Bradshaw. Do you think I will pull it off? Or lose?
Also defense for week 10;
Ravens v Ten
Dallas @J ax
Lions vs Miami
Pitt @ NYJ
