B_Don and Donkey Teeth are joined by fellow Razzball writer, Bobby LaMarco, to talk about some recent super flex dynasty drafts with some other, more well known, fantasy football analysts.  Bobby took part in a couple recent CBS mocks including a rookie draft and then a full start up draft. Meanwhile, Donkey Teeth and B_Don ran it back with most of the same people from the 1 QB dynasty best ball league we discussed on the last show.

We discuss our draft strategies for super flex dynasty startups and how the 2 QB approach changes our approach, especially early in the draft. With QBs being more highly valued, we discuss where each analyst would have the break to go away from the QB position and look elsewhere. The pace at which QBs are taken may adjust your draft strategy, and the 2 drafts were quite different in their approach to QB. We wrap the show with the most important question, which team does Bobby like the most between the 2 co-hosts in our superflex dynasty best ball league?

B_Don and Donkey Teeth are back for running back rankings for 2020 fantasy football part deux. We discuss some NFL news off the top including: the David Montgomery injury, Parris Campbell, Damien Harris, and continue to profess our love for Preston Williams. Then, we follow up with a podcast announcement before getting into the rest of DT’s RB ranks.

We start with some rookie RB back and forth where we differ on how we see the veterans and incumbents fitting into the offenses. We look at the Bills backfield with Devin Singletary and Zack Moss both coming in pretty low. B_Don defends Ronald Jones and Jordan Howard, and we take a look at how the Titans offense may look if anything were to happen to Derrick Henry.

B_Don and Donkey Teeth are back to discuss DT’s redraft RB rankings, top 10 and top 20. We start at the top with some tier talk among the elite RBs. Then, we get into where DT’s ranks diverge from the consensus with Austin Ekeler, Kenyan Drake, and Miles Sanders. We’re both higher on Leonard Fournette, and DT explains why he’s so high on Le’veon Bell. We wrap up with some Derrick Henry and David Johnson discussion where B_Don tries to talk DT into Henry and out of DJ.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire – Louisiana State University – 5’7″ 207 lbs. – April 11, 1999 (21 years old)

  • Short area agility is the standout feature for Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
  • Ability to fake or jump laterally helps him avoid tacklers and in route running.
  • Neither acceleration nor top speed is overly impressive, but can use his tools to set guys up and make them miss.
  • Uses blocks downfield and sees the cut back lanes open up.
  • Times where he will put his head down when running the interior and run into the back of his lineman.

Cam Akers – Florida St. – 5’10” 217 lbs. – 6/22/99 (20 years old)

Fair warning up front, I’m a ‘Noles fan. And yes, it’s been a terrible few years. For the duration of Akers time at FSU, the Seminoles were a mess from scheme to play calling to the offensive line, and just general motivation. However, Akers was one of the few bright spots of these teams. He doesn’t have the highest top end speed or the best acceleration, but he brings a combination of balanced running with explosive play ability along with a natural receiving ability. Donkey Teeth recently ranked Akers #18 overall in his top 20 dynasty running back rankings and Alfred ranked him #4 among rookie running backs in his post combine running back rankings. Here’s what I saw from Akers in my film review:

Football season is ov…never ends! Next up is the combine (2/24-3/2) where grown men watch other grown men work out. Then, we get free agency (3/18) where billion dollar entities tell us they don’t have any money to spend. Finally, we’ll get to the draft (4/23-4/25) where talented 20+ year olds who were earning millions for a university will finally make some money for themselves.
