Welcome back to another year of fantasy football at Razzball.  The boys and I are ready to get to work.  With training camps set to open in the coming weeks, it’s time to unveil my pre-camp QB rankings.

Let’s jump right to it:

# Name Team Up/Down Comments
Josh Allen BUF   Josh Allen remains my #1A until proven otherwise.
Lamar Jackson BAL   #1B…until proven otherwise.
Joe Burrow CIN ⬆️ 43:9 TD:INT ratio despite being hampered by wrist injury this time last year.  With all his weapons are back, I have Burrow solidly in my top #.
Jayden Daniels WAS   24 Offensive ROY keeps rolling into his sophomore season.
Jalen Hurts PHI   Tush Push remains a legal play, propelling Hurts back into the top 5.
Kyler Murray ARI ⬆️ News of Murray wanting to run more, and improved chemistry with Marvin Harrison Jr., has me high on this bird.
Justin Herbert LAC ⬆️ Herbert looks to avenge his 4 INT performance in the playoffs.
Baker Mayfield TB   New OC (former Bucs pass-game coordinator) and return of WR weapons means Baker continues to earn starting fantasy reps.
Patrick Mahomes KC ⬇️ Great NFL QB, but slightly above-average Fantasy QB.  I see him better than last season, but not by much.  Let someone else spend their draft capital here.
Jared Goff DET ⬆️ Ben Johnson may be gone but all the key playmakers return to what’s expected to be the same system.
Brock Purdy SF   Purdy got paid but does he still have the weapons?
CJ Stroud HOU ⬆️ Looking to rebound from an uneven sophomore season and addition of new WRs.
Dak Prescott DAL ⬆️ A healthy hammy and addition of Pickens brings renewed optimism in Big D.
Caleb Williams CHI   New HC, revamped OL and additional REC weapons means renewed confidence.  If he can just cut down on mistakes, he’ll move up this list.
Drake Maye NE   New HC & OC, along with a healthy Diggs, better O-line and rookie deep-threat Kyle Williams could propel Maye to top 10 status.
Bo Nix DEN ⬇️ I’m a fan of Nix but questions remain in the WR corp after Courtland Sutton.  Nix will need more than his legs if he’s going to climb this ladder.
Trevor Lawrence JAC   Shoulder questions remain but if he’s healthy by Week 1, this is where he belongs.  He remains a SuperFlex target.
Jordan Love GB   Love doesn’t deserve a “Bust” label…yet, but the ever-evolving WR corp is clearly holding him back.
Tua Tagovailoa MIA   Not much to say here.  When his head is right, he’s can be a fantasy monster but when it’s not…
Matthew Stafford LAR   “Father Time” may be knocking on his door soon but may be too busy with another old QB first (see below).  I fear this may be the last season where Stafford is drafted.
Michael Penix Jr. ATL ⬇️ They will be a lot of helium here during fantasy drafts but let’s not forget he only started 3 games and really only had one great fantasy output in Week 18.
Bryce Young CAR   We finally saw the talent emerge but can he continue to build with his rookie WR and an aging Thielen in the slot?  That is the question.
J.J. McCarthy MIN   A lot of question marks with J.J. but there’s no questioning the talent he has around him.
Justin Fields NYJ ⬇️ Some “experts” are ranking Fields in the mid-teens.  Not me!  Moving to the Jets doesn’t change what we already know.
Sam Darnold SEA   Darnold will soon realize JSN is no JJ, but if they click, he may move up the charts here.
Geno Smith LV   Focus on the run game and a lack of weapons (outside of Bowers) may spell trouble for Geno.
Russell Wilson NYG   Russ is keeping the stove warm for Dart but linking with Nabers early and often may give him an extended run.
Aaron Rodgers PIT ⬇️ “Father Time” is camped amongst the Three Rivers for his first victim.  He may be useful for a few games but don’t fool yourself into Aaron reliving past glory.
Daniel Jones IND ⬆️ Danny Dimes looking like the Indy QB#1 going into training camp.
Cam Ward TEN   The rookie gets first billing in NashVegas.  Will he fly or stumble out of the gate?
Kirk Cousins ATL ⬆️ Cousins gets a boost here on the chance he is traded prior to the start of the season.
Kenny Pickett CLE   The CLE starting QB will fill this spot.  This may end up being a revolving door with Pickett getting the first crack.
Tyler Shough NO   Do the Saints hand the keys to the rookie?  I think so.
Joe Flacco CLE   Selfishly, I want to see Flacco get first dibs on the starting QB position.
Sam Howell MIN   If J.J. is not ready, Howell may be the next Darnold.
Anthony Richardson IND ⬇️ What happened to the player deemed a “fantasy MVP candidate” this time last year?
Spencer Rattler NO   If the Saints prefer to slow-play the rookie, Rattler will have some deep-league value.
Jameis Winston NYG   I see Jameis being the odd-man out in the Big Apple, but he may have value if traded or released.
Mason Rudolph PIT ⬆️ I give Rudolph a 40% chance at starting Week 1 following an Aaron Rodgers pre-season injury.
Jaxson Dart NYG   Three NYG QBs between #27-#41.  This will get sorted out in camp.
Taysom Hill NO   A QB-eligible TE will be drafted much higher than this.  Will the Saints continue to use him the same after his injury?
Aidan O’Connell LV   Aidan is next in line after Geno but remains solidly on the bench.
Will Levis TEN   The Will Levis experiment is clearly over, but he remains a viable backup to the rookie.
Tyrod Taylor NYJ   No fantasy value at this point.
Zach Wilson MIA   Little to no fantasy value until Tua gets his bell rung.  As a football fan, let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
Dillon Gabriel CLE   Gabriel may ascend to the #32 spot or may fall outside the top 50 all-together.  Who knows.
Jalen Milroe SEA   He may be a viable dynasty prospect but shouldn’t have much season-long value.
Mac Jones SF   Purdy has a history of injuries so Mac may be called upon at some point.  Until then, just let him sit here.
Malik Willis GB   Willis still has some physical gifts but can he play QB in the league?  We’ll only know if Love misses time.
Shedeur Sanders CLE   No matter what he does in camp, Sanders will get a heavy dose of the press.  That may be his only contribution this season though.

So, what do you think?  Do you have Lamar over Allen in the top spot?  Where do you rank last year’s rookies?  How about this year’s rookies?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

There are many questions to be answered in the coming weeks, leading up to our fantasy drafts.  Let’s prepare for the upcoming drafts together right here!
