Week 1 DFS Lineup (DraftKings)
We spend all off season discussing ideal fits for our season-long fantasy football leagues. As if that’s not strenuous enough, some of us also put together weekly DFS lineups to follow. Here’s my ideal DFS lineup for this week. I’m using Draft Kings (not an official sponsor of Razzball). Feel free to agree or roast me in the comments if you feel there’s a better fit for the cost! Check out our YouTube channel for weekly episodes and Sunday Live Start/Sit Show where we answer YOUR start/sit questions for the day. We go live two hours before kickoff.

Automatics: Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase
These two linked up for 23.7 PPR fantasy points per game last season. That was four full PPR points better than WR2. Chase went for 17 (WR12) and 22 (WR9) against CLE in their two matchups. They’ve looked locked in over preseason. I was thrilled to fit these two elite options in my Week 1 DFS lineup.
Top Options: Alvin Kamara, Broncos DST
Kamara is being faded in fantasy circles this year. Why? Bad offense? Young QB? No defense? GREAT! Give me 10 dump-offs per game and the few touchdowns the Saints will score should run (or pass) through him. Coach Kellen Moore said Kamara should see 70% of the touches in Week 1. Folks. That’s insane! This isn’t season-long talk here. This is Week 1. Fire up the only option for NO in what should be a chasing game-script.
Denver’s defense is the consensus D/ST1 over the season and this week. I like Cam Ward, but he’s a rookie with limited weapons on the road in Denver. You rarely can afford the top defense in D/ST. Enjoy it while you can.
Values: Ricky Pearsall, David Njoku
Jauan Jennings miraculously got healthy after signing with the 49ers this week. Excellent. It’s been Ricky P putting in work with Brock Purdy and the boys. Jennings will get his, but I expect Pearsall to as well. He’s listed as WR37 in DFS Week 1. GTFOH!
Njoku and Joe Flacco are like Matt Stiles and Derek Favret – brothers to the bone! Uncle Joe has his flaws, but we don’t care about those in fantasy football. He’s going to sling it and have to to keep up with Burrow, Chase and the Bengals. He’s going as the TE5 in DFS. I can legitimately see Njoku finishing as the TE1 this week. In four divisional games last season, Flacco threw six touchdowns and just one interception for a 96.1 QBR. That was his best QBR against any opponents. There should be a shootout in Cleveland.
Rookies: TreVeyon Henderson, Tetairoa McMillan, Matthew Golden
All of these are risky plays, but they’re also potential explosions. Henderson showed his burst on his first touch taking the opening kickoff back 101 yards in Preseason Game 1. McMillan has been nursing ailments this offseason, but reports say it’s just been precautionary and he’s one of the best rookie prospects coming into the NFL in recent memory. Golden might already be the WR1 in Green Bay with the rest hobbling. For their price tags + upside, these are no-brainer dart throws for me in Week 1 DFS.
