It’s a tradition as old as wearing a facial covering while using the public crapper or washing your hands like an obsessive compulsive garbage man: Wednesday Afternoon Football! Since there’s no Thursday Night Football game for me to breakdown with my rankings this week, I’ve decided to nail two Ravens with one stone by recapping the Wednesday afternoon dumpster fire in this introduction for the week 13 rankings.

Maybe it was the week long uncertainty of whether this game would actually be played, maybe it was the fantasy football gods punishing us all for the NFL’s blind greed, maybe it’s because you put your Christmas lights up 3 weeks before Thanksgiving. Whatever the reason, this was the most boring Wednesday Afternoon Football game in the history of Wednesday Afternoon Football.

Only one Raven player produced positive fantasy results as Marquise Brown (4 catches for 85 yards and his 3rd touchdown) posted the best game of his very disappointing season thanks to his 70 yard touchdown catch late in the 4th quarter. Maybe this kickstarts Hollywood with a much softer schedule on the horizon. The friendly schedule gives me cautious optimism on the entire Ravens offense, including Lamar JacksonJ.K. Dobbins and Mark Andrews, as they all return from the virus outbreak.

On the Steelers side, you could tell they came in expecting to sleepwalk their way to a win and, well, they pretty much did. Juju Smith-Schuster (8 catches for 37 yards and his 6th touchdown), or Shoo Shoo Schuster-Smeeth as they call him on NBC Espanol, was the only Steeler to find the end zone while the damage from their two other (more talented) receivers Diontae Johnson (8 catches for 46 yards) and Chase Claypool (6 catches for 52 yards) was minimized. Benny Snell (16 carries for 60 yards, 3 catches for 33 yards), who I judiciously invested all my FAAB in after week 2, did show some flashes while filling in for James Conner (COVID). Remember, Conner fell into the high COVID risk group as a cancer survivor (diabetic Mark Andrews fell into this category too); not sure if this will actually impact either of their recovery times or if they even experienced any symptoms, but Snell’s worth a roster spot regardless. Anyway, here’s my fantasy football rankings for week 13 which will be frequently updated until Sunday kickoff:

i’m easily in playoffs, playing a bum team this week, am 9-3 (and had to lose back to back weeks 11-12 to get to this, still tied with best record and leading division by 2 games so even if i were to lose i’d win my division, which likely nets me a top 2 seed). when thielen got ruled out sat night i added GB D (this week great matchup and next week pretty good too) while IR’ing him. he’s back already now (i have no clue how they legally could’ve held him out, NOT let him back by sunday, but already say he’s ok to be back this week (clearly it wasn’t a false negative last tues for sure with all this), gotta drop one of these D’s. 12 team super flex
QB: newton, bridge, wentz (had i just played bridge over newton i’d have picked up 12ish points where i lost by 9ish and won again against a good team too)
RB (2): duke jo, gio B, b.hill, l.bell, AAron jones, scott, gore (if gaskin isn’t back this week probably gotta play gore, b.hill not even sure what carries he’s getting and gurley sounds likely back anyway, gio B did the exact floor game i saw coming with finley or b.allen, duke jo goes back to bench if DJ is back)
WR (3): AB (bye this week), perriman, adams, patrick, aj green (could just drop him now)
    TE (1): kelce, goedert
    2 regular flexes
    1 super flex
    IR (3): thielen, p-will, gaskin
    team D: (1): GB, LAR

    1. drop which D, FA has a bunch of decent ones so streaming entirely looks doable and has been all year:
GB: (next 3): vs PHI, @ DET, vs CAR
LAR: @ ARI (before murray’s shoulder i wouldn’t have touched this with a 20 foot pole), vs NE, vs NYJ
TB: off, vs MIN, @ ATL
NYG: @ SEA, vs ARI, vs CLE

    2. if/when gaskin is back i guess b.hill is my drop here (could be aj green though)

    3. drop the other of green/b.hill for which of these if any: hamler, coutee

    • Eli Man Penguin Boy says:

      coulter also in #3.

    • Donkey Teeth

      1. I’d keep GB
2/3. I’d lose both and grab coutee

  2. Blake says:
    (link)

Who do you like out of these three in a .5 ppr? Christian Kirk, Zack Moss, Raegor?

Also thinking of taking rudolph of logan thomas this week . What do you think?

    • Eli Man Penguin Boy says:
      (link)

does that translate to “rudolph over l.thomas”. check on irv smith’s status thoughout week, if he’s playing stick with l.thomas for sure.

      • Blake says:
        (link)

yeah over. typo there. Irv is available as well. I don’t feel good about Logan’s match up this week and i’m in a must win situation.

        • Eli Man Penguin Boy says:
          (link)

yeah @ PIT ain’t good. but i do remember in last week’s TE ROS article (his podcast partner BD does those) that MIN has the worst remaining schedule for TE’s. i would still go rudolph IF irv smith is out. in question 1 i seriously doubt he’ll tell you reagor over kirk, not sure on moss vs kirk though for him. it’s also possible i misread what BD meant and MIN’s remaining schedule for TE’s is the BEST, not the worst, i’d check over there.

          • Eli Man Penguin Boy says:
            (link)

it’s pretty clear the way he worded it “ROS against TE’s” that seeing a #1 next to rudolph/irv smith that MIN has the worst ROS schedule for TE’s.

            • Blake says:
              (link)

I have the roster space for another TE so i’m prob gonna pick him up for this week to stream and just drop reagor. That philly offense just looks terrible, worse than the bears if that is even possible.

I normally would probably do Kirk over Moss but they both have tough matchups and Kyler has that shoulder issue still. Moss is a boom or bust play more than Kirk.

              • Eli Man Penguin Boy says:
                (link)

kirk’s floor lately has been pretty gross, but i’d agree the assumed floor for kirk is higher than moss and certainly the ceiling is

                • Blake says:
                  (link)

I’ve got Gio as well that I could flex but I feel like that offense is dead.

                  • Eli Man Penguin Boy says:
                    (link)

yeah moss/kirk i’d be FAR less afraid of starting. last week i almost called what gio’s floor game with b.allen might be and was only off barely (i said something like 25 rush, 2-3 catches for less than 20 yards total). obv gio could catch 9 short catches and have a good PPR floor, but the downside is straight up scary (like people who tried hinton in flex or WR spots last week, almost that scary)

                    • Blake says:
                      (link)

Yeah i’m considering dropping him or darrell henderson jr for cam akers who is available. some of my main guys are on buy and the alts just have such bad matchups.

      Moss then Kirk for me.

As penguin boy said, I’d go rudolph assuming Irv is out.

Brady Bye Week Streamer: Carr-Cousins-Rivers ?
(QB’s get same pts as WR’s-RB’s etc 6 points per TD one point per 10 yards rushing/passing)

Carr is already rostered, but after his performance in Atlanta last week, I don’t feel confident at all, even if he is playing the Jets.

If only he could play the Chiefs every week!

Cousins has done very well lately, but he’s playing the Jaguars, who aren’t very good against the run, which means it might be D. Cook day all day.

On the other hand, I also have Justin Jefferson which makes it intriguing.

Rivers is @ the Texans, which makes one think possible shoot-out, but with Will Fuller gone, the Texans offense might take a step backwards ?

    I’m leaning towards Cousins.

Ooo that’s a lot of point ms for passing yards. I have carr and cousins as a coin flip so I’d just trust your gut and go with cousins.

        Thanks DT
And yeah, that is a lot of points for passing yards.
Definitely makes quarterbacks the number one priority in my league.
40 points is an average week :)

I think Vegas D is a trap. Golladay has been officially ruled out – do you think Bears D if Mack plays is a better play over GB D?

So many RBs, so few healthy WRs. Standard scoring league. Looking for solid performances, high floors as I am the favorite over the #3 team in the league.

    1. Pick 2…..Monty, Gallman, Gaskin, Booker, Taylor
    2. Pick 2…. Boyd, Shepard, Beasley
    3. Pick 1… Bears at Lions or Pack v Eagles

    Thanks!

    14m, fighting for playoffs:

    1. with jacobs injured, am i risking playing DJ and dobbins? Got ito smith as insurance, but unsure if jalen richards is a better option

    2. Hoping julio plays. Pls pick 2 for my WR/Flex – amari, mike williams, lazard, meyers

    3. any faith in singletary this week

Need a win this week to make the playoffs and have two decisions:

    1. Allen or Cousins at QB? Allen scared me a bit and Cousins has the nice matchup.

    2. Need to start two of these three in a full point PPR: Kareem Hunt, Jarvis Landry, and Devontae Booker. Already have Chubb as one of my RBs with Tyreek and Lockett at WR so need another RB and a flex.

    Thank you!

      Allen, Hunt and Booker

PPR league- RB2- Akers or Gurley.. I am thinking Akers, which means Gurley will run for 35 yards but fall into the endzone 3 times!!
Also still stuck on Boyd vs Ruggs.. do we see an improvement in Allen to get the ball to Boyd with more volume?
    Thanks

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      I’d go with Gurley.

Not into either of the WRs and no I don’t trust Allen but would still go with Boyd over Ruggs
