I just snuck out of a court ordered gambling rehab facility to write this post, so I’ll have to be brief. After I was arrested for stealing old ladies’ purses from the retirement home down the block to fund my string of Arizona Cardinals’ Super Bowl wagers (a 50:1 lock!), the judge sentenced me to 6 month’s of in-patient rehab. Since I’ll be releasing my weekly fantasy football rankings each Thursday morning for the duration of the season, I’ve decided to throw in some bonus bold Thursday Night Football predictions along with my expertly handicapped pick for the contest:
Denver Broncos (-3) at New York Jets
Forecast: I didn’t think primetime could get much more exciting coming off the Chiefs at Ravens Monday night slugfest to cap off week 3, but the NFL has a real treat in store for us to begin week 4. Broncos at Jets is objectively the most anticipated game of the 2020 season. The story of the first half will be superstar QB Brett Rypien leading the Broncos to a seemingly insurmountable halftime lead of 7-0. But in a move that surprises absolutely no one, Adam Gase will be fired at halftime, injecting new life into the hapless Jets squad. With Gase out of the picture, Frank Gore will be named player/coach for the remainder of the season. Coach Gore will call his own number 30 times in the second half as he tramples the Von Miller-less Broncos defense for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jets 17, Broncos 7
Wager: Jets +3 (0.5 Units)
2020 Season: 0-3 (-3.3 Units)
Anyway, here’s my fantasy football rankings for week 4 which will be frequently updated until Sunday kickoff:

Someone just dropped Jonnu Smith to waivers, so I’ll be looking to make a pickup there later tonight.
Gotta pick someone to drop though. Tempted to let go of Slayton over Davis, just because I think there’s more upside on the Titans offense. However, I am curious to see how the Giants backfield shakes out with Freeman in the mix now.
Who here would you consider droppable at this point, and who would you drop for Jonnu if you were in my shoes? (12 teams, half PPR)
QB: Kyler Murray
RB: Dalvin Cook
RB: Nick Chubb
WR: OBJ
WR: DK Metcalf
TE: TJ Hockenson
FLEX: Diontae Johnson
B: Antonio Gibson
B: AJ Green
B: Darius Slayton
B: Joshua Kelley
B: Corey Davis
B: Devonta Freeman
IR: Le’Veon Bell
Slayton is who I’d drop. Davis and Freeman are the only other candidates.
12 team standard league. I had hope that Fournette would come through but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I’m getting offered my McCaffrey and Hockenson for Justin Taylor. I’m going to counter offer my McCaffrey and Hockenson for Justin Taylor and Marquise Brown
Jonathan Taylor. Yeah I like your counter, especially if you’re off to a slow start.
Fournette may still come thru, but agree you can’t count in him at this point.
10 team non-PPR 10 bonus points at 100 rushing or receiving yards.
Would you do anything different this week? I really hate having Devante Parker on my bench with this sweet matchup against Seattle should I start him because of the chance at the bonus or keep Mike Davis in?
Qb -dak
Wr-Julio Jones
Wr-OBJ
Rb-chubb
Rb-J Taylor
Te- Shultz
W/r -scary terry
W/r/t -Mike Davis
Bn.D. Parker
McKinnon
J. Graham
E. Sanders
Swift
Gibson
Lindsay
C. Hyde
IR-Bell
IR-Goedart
D COLTS
K lutz
I’d stick with Davis but agree they’re close
Hi, would an offer of Ekeler and Gallup for CMC and Golladay be fair? The guy who has CMC is winless so far and I am undefeated. He needs to win now where I can take a chance. Replacing Ekeler would be Antonio Gibson or justin Kelley until CMC returns. My other starter is Aaron Jones.
Yeah I like that gamble, getting Golladay for Gallup makes it worthwhile to me.
Thanks for responding. Apparently the other guy was offended by my offer because his counter offer was sending me Waller and thielen for Aaron Jones and DK Metcalf. I dont think my original offer was bad at all considering CMCs earliest return date is likely two to three full weeks away.
Yeah I guess if he’s still valuing him as the #1 pick I can see the insult
I’m in a 1/2 point PPR 14-team league. Sitting with Ekeler, Joe Mixon, Jonathan Taylor, and James Robinson as my running backs. Have Cooper Kupp and Marquise Brown at WR.
Got an offer to Trade James Robinson for Terry McLaurin straight up. Thoughts:?
It’s fair. I’d do it if you start 3 WR. If you only start two then I’d try to get a little more.
Thanks.
Wasn’t sure it TMc was enough of an improvement over what I got. I only start 2 WR’s, 2 RB’s, and 1 flex.
Sure. It’s an upgrade but RBs have much more value when theres only 2 WRs and a flex. Make someone pay…
Who would you drop of the four for a streaming spot: Dobbins, Preston Williams, Tate, Harry? Thank you!
Tate, kind of a coin flip between him and Harry though.
This is an unfair question but I have to start planning ahead. Now that’s out of the way, here goes…plain vanilla 1/2 ppr, 10-team. I have:
QB/TE: Ryan/Waller
RB: Zeke, A Jones, Rojo, Gibson, Pollard + Bell stashed on IR
WR: Thielen, Keenan, JuJu, Boyd, Hollywood, Godwin
1. I need to make room for Bell next week…I assume this is the week I have to give up Pollard as a security blanket for Zeke? Or do I just finally let Rojo go?
2. The next week, I need to make room for a TE streamer…then who? I think my most expendable players here are Pollard, Rojo and Hollywood…in that order?
3. I have a good chance to make a waiver claim tomorrow on Parker, probably in place of Hollywood…is it even worth spending the claim…that would lock in Pollard and Rojo as the two drops, I think.
I’ve tried trading to open up some of this backlog in a useful way, but nobody seems to value WRs in this league. Weird. Thanks as always for all your help, DT.
1. I’d lose Pollard
2. Agreed. Almost hope Bell is out another week.
3. Yeah I’d burn the priority for Parker
No problem
1/2 ppr which 2 wrs to start out of t.y. hilton, robby anderson, and jameson crowder?
Also, who to start in flex on another team out of gaskin, a.j. green, allen lazzard, and joshua kelley? Thanks!
I’d bench anderson and start gaskin
So here’s my team currently:
QB: Josh Allen
RBs: Kamara, Mixon, J. Robinson, Hunt, Gurley, and L. Murray
WRs: Golliday, Metcalf, Diggs, Justin Jefferson, N’keal Harry
TEs: Andrews and Hurst
D+K: who cares
I know what you’re thinking, “Is this like a 5 person league?!” And no it’s not… I just got REALLY lucky on the draft with WRs and QBs and I made a great pickup for Robinson off of waivers before the season even started. Anyways it’s by far and away the best team in the league.
JUST yesterday though, I completed a trade where I sent Aaron Rodgers, Jonnu Smith, and Nyheim Hines to a team for Andrews (listed above as my primary TE).
This was a trade I wasn’t expecting to be accepted and actually the person who I sent it to had kind of asked me about it but never confirmed with me if he wanted it or not. I figured he was just gonna sit and let it time out, but then he accepted it before time ran out. I was actually willing to replace Hines with Gurley there, BUT he didn’t even try to negotiate with me. The semi issue here is that he is kinda new, kinda not. He definitely needed a solid QB and was skimpy on RBs so I figured this trade would help both of us, but now my league mates are throwing a fit cause my team is far and ahead better than everyone’s, but I feel like this trade would have gone unnoticed if I wasn’t already a juggernaut.. anyways… just seeking some fantasy ethic thoughts here. Should I feel bad about this? Please soothe my soul Donkey Teeth! Or reprimand me. Whatever you feel is necessary here.
Eh I think it was fine. Andrews hasn’t done anything the past two weeks, Rodgers looks great and Jonnu is a nice TE replacement.
I wouldn’t feel bad…
Who do you like best in this group of misfits? Need 2 RBs for a standard scoring league:
-Gaskin vs SEA
-Dobbins @ WAS
-Josh Kelley @ TB
-Hines @ CHI
Thanks DT
Gaskin, Kelley
No problem
i’m stiching up those “got away from gase all stars” jerseys just now….
Yeah I don’t like their chances with Flacco
darnold back, WTF with hamler’s no targets yet. he actually led DEN in WR snaps last week (i just looked this up). with MT probably going to play while still hurt (and unknown on d.adams) i had to play hamler in one league (2 flexes and 3 WR start and i lost goedert too).
– got completely screwed by the late lazard news as i threw away MVS (my likely drop) in a 12’er for mullens since my only QB’s are ben and jimmer G. one might say i could’ve just waited till later in week on that, except the ONLY starters not owned in that league (people must be hoarding, 3 QB’s some must have) were rypien and mullens.
have t.smith in the spot i played hamler. we’ve seen how much he isn’t used when MT is playing (my guess is MT coming back this early though he just reinjures it, with high probability). could drop t.smith for pascal or j-wash.
finally reported that hamler went out at some point.
Ah missed that
posted this earlier, got lost in moderation.
i’m picking random (coin flip) to see how that does against you ROS (your 0-3 start doesn’t count towards this), and just opposite you.
1. random: NYJ +3
2. against: DEN -3
Would you give Chubb & McLauren for CEH? 12T half ppr.
My RB’s are Kamara, Chubb, Montgomery, J Robinson, Henderson.
WR’s are McLauren, Kupp, Diontae, Chark, Deebo.
Thx.
