We’re going to The Upside Down to find out our favorite turkey for this Thanksgiving! Let’s review my favorite WR starts and sits for Week 13, utilizing Razzball’s Wide Receiver Fantasy Points Scored Slot vs. Wide and our Defense Slot vs. Wide. The Slot vs Wide chart breaks down how many fantasy points a wide receiver has scored so far this season from the slot vs. out wide. With three weeks under our belts, the sample size is growing, and trends are starting to emerge.

Starts

  • Player: Jameson Williams
  • Opponent: vs. Packers

After a brutal performance with zero receptions on three targets while his team compiled 488 scrimmage yards, I expect Williams to bounce back in a big game. Green Bay is giving up 82% of opposing WRs’ fantasy points out wide, the highest rate in the league. Williams is scoring the most points out wide at 8.6 PPG for the Lions. Before his dud, Williams scored three consecutive TDs while averaging 91 yards with the play-calling change to Dan Campbell. Look past his misery in Week 12 and reward yourself with a turkey leg in Week 13.

  • Player: Khalil Shakir
  • Opponent: at Pittsburgh

Shakir ranks in the top 10 among all WRs, averaging 6.3 PPG from the slot. Fortunately, this Buffalo Bill faces the Steelers, who are allowing the seventh most points from the slot of 14.3 PPG.  Pittsburgh is permitting the fourth-most points to WRs over the last four games. In Week 12, Chicago’s Loveland Colston and Luther Burden combined for 90+ yards and 1 TD with the majority of their snaps from the slot. In a week where the Bills brought in Brandin Cooks and the uncertainty of Keon Coleman, Shakir is the only Bills’ WR to plug into your lineup with certainty.

WR3 Starts (WRs ranked outside the top 25)

  • Player: Xavier Worthy
  • Opponent: at Dallas

The Cowboys are allowing WRs lined out wide to score at the third-highest rate at 73%, equating to 25.2 points per game. Worthy leads the Chiefs with the most snaps out wide this season at 64.3%, while producing 53% of his fanatsy value on the perimeter. Mahomes is airing it out more with 45+ attempts over his last two games, while Worthy is generating a healthy seven targets over his last four games. His teammate Rashee Rice is battling a hamstring injury, so expect Worthy to score a TD against the worst deep ball defense in the NFL.

  • Player: Brian Thomas Jr.
  • Opponent: at Tennessee

I would be most thankful for a BTJ return to brilliance in Week 13. The scene is set up for him as the Titans are allowing the second-most points out wide at 27.8 PPG. Thomas Jr. scores 95% of his fanatsy points from the perimeter, and with the acquisition of Jakobi Meyers, Thomas should be able to get behind the defense, similar to JSN in Week 12 against Tennessee. In two games against Tennessee last season, Thomas averaged 7.5 receptions for 88.5 yards on 11 targets with one TD. BTJ is due for a big game.

  • Player: John Metchie III
  • Opponent: vs. Falcons

The Jets’ offense is granted for takeoff this weekend against the Falcons, who are allowing the second-most yards and TDs to WRs over the past month. Since Garrett Wilson went out, Metchie is the most consistent Jets WR, scoring two consecutive TDs while averaging 55 yards in his last two games. He’s averaging 55% of his snaps out wide in three games with New York, where the Falcons permit the fifth most points on the perimeter. Don’t be scared to take a flier on Metchie!

 Sits

  • Player: Zay Flowers
  • Opponent: vs. Bengals

Another bold prediction in benching this fantasy stalwart. Would it shock you to believe that the Bengals are allowing the fewest points to WRs in 2025? They’re allowing the second-fewest points out wide and the seventh-fewest in the slot. Flowers is the lone WR to start for the Ravens, with a 60/40 wide/slot split.  Since Lamar Jackson’s return in Week 9, Jackson is the QB23. In his last two games, he’s failed to score over 10 points. During that same stretch, Flowers is the WR29. To make matters worse, Flowers has not scored a TD since Week 1. The Bengals have allowed six receiving TDs, tied for the second-fewest this season.

  • Player: Michael Pittman Jr.
  • Opponent: vs. Texans

Houston is the fourth-most difficult defense to all WRs, while limiting perimeter WRs to the fourth-fewest points per game. Pittman Jr. is scoring the eighth-most points from out wide among all WRs in the NFL. More bad news for Pittman, the Texans are allowing WRs out wide to just 44 receiving yards over the last four games. Pittman’s value is contingent on TDs; his seven ranks as the fourth-most in the NFL, while the Texans have allowed only six this season. I’m out on Pittman this week, considering there are no teams on a bye week.
