So, wouldn’t it be cool if you could take on some of your favorite contributors and all of the Razzball readers/commenters in one huge Free Fantasy Football League? IT WOULD BE COOL YO. That’s why we made this possible. And why it was in all caps. Welcome to the 2015 Fantasy Football RCL! Where all of the Razzballers get to hang out, talk some football, and compete against each other in the game we all love. While we can’t create a single 500 person league as of yet, since the technology has yet to be invented, what we can do is create multiple 12-person leagues and pit them all against each other. If you don’t like that, well, you can be the one to wait for the future to come. So enjoy those dragons with lasers, wearing leather and blasting Daft Punk. ENJOY IT. However, if you are not such a timey prude, join us for some fantasy football funnage. Totally a word. So I present to you: the 2015 RCL Fantasy Football Season, with prizes!

Before you get started, I know that some of you out there may have never played fantasy football before. That’s okay! Razzball has a Beginners Fantasy Football Guide just for you. Maybe you’re a seasoned veteran, well, we have a 2015 Fantasy Football Draft Kit that’s being updated everyday, be sure check it out multiple times. (That’s what she said.) And can’t think of a team name? Check out our Fantasy Football Team Name Generator. Need some rankings? Oh, we got some Fantasy Football Rankings for ya! Now, let’s get to the good stuff…

  • Prize for Commissioner of the League that Hosts the RCL CHAMPION: $50.00 Best Buy Gift Card.

7277c25c0a0d028a00f214785de35e5e

You read it right folks. If you are the Commissioner of the league that our RCL Champion is in, you get a prize. So what should you do? Follow the instructions below to create a league. The more leagues you create and fill, the greater the chance you have of hosting the eventual winner. Create as many as you want… just make sure to get them filled, so go nuts!

  • Special Bonus Prize: A Razzball T-shirt for every Commenter that creates Five Leagues and fills them by draft time. (Two Shirts if you create and fill 10 Leagues.)

That’s right, if you create five leagues and fill them up by your set draft date, you get a Razzball T-Shirt of your choice. (Two shirts if you create and fill 10!) So my advice? Create a league, get your friends, your family, your local everything to join and get some Razzball swag. A definite win-win if you ask me…

Tehol talks the talk, and he walks the walk. Probably in a man-thong. If you are able to offend the Elder Gods and beat our very own Tehol, finishing with the most points out of all the leagues he hosts, then you get that sweet-sweet Razzball swag. That, and some serious respect from Tehol… and probably a man-thong.

Please Note: Razzball contributors, while allowed to participate, are not eligible for prizes. If a Razzball contributor is the RCL Champion, the Grand Prize will go to the next highest scoring player. If a Razzball contributor hosts the RCL Champion in his/her league, the next highest scorer’s league Commissioner will receive the $50.00 Best Buy gift card.

Fantasy Football Razzball Commenter Leagues, 2015:

  1. The league I was commish for last year is renewed. We have two open teams currently. I did set a draft date and time, but it could be moved if there is a need to accommodate enough owners with conflicts. Of course, you could also decide to join a different league and make my life easier.

Just joined Jay’s league. Happy you guys are using Yahoo. I’m ready for some futbawl!

@pbmax: We are so ready, and welcome to the league!

  3. Blake says:

Not sure where to comment about rankings – so will just post here. I am in a 15 team ppr league. U have CJ spiller 4th overall – can you explain the ranking? seems like he is going to be a bit player?

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Blake: So, FantasyPros uses their own formula when it comes to taking our standard rankings and translating them into half-PPR and PPR rankings. But at first, I thought it was off a bit, but the more I thought about it and going over my projections (which will be released tomorrow), it’s not that crazy. I’m not trying to hype him at all, I’ve actually been burned by him quite a bit, but I have him projected to have over 60 receptions, which really drives up that PPR value. I think that’s fair, given the team he’s on, the quarterback he has, and while you should knock him down for durability, I could see him as a real great buy in PPR leagues.

      • RotoLance

        RotoLance says:
        (link)

@Jay: I’m calling you out. You didn’t give your commenter a very usable answer. “It’s not that crazy” sorta implies he doesn’t deserve to be the 4th RB (or #5 overall which is where he is right now, I just checked). So, while you explained why he deserves to be moved up, you didn’t explain what justifies him being all the way up there. If he doesn’t deserve to be there, where do you think he ought to be ranked in PPR? Thanks.

          (link)

@RotoLance: i’m liking that a writer is not only reading the comments but being critical too. makes for good discussions. nice to see when compared to guys who don’t read these and only show up to show off when they looked right about something after the fact or when their name shows up.

          • RotoLance

            RotoLance says:

@A Wesley Snipes Life: I appreciate that. I’ve actually commented on quite a few posts by the other writers. I’ll usually comment on any post I find compelling, whether I agree or disagree.

          • Jay

            Jay says:
            (link)

@A Wesley Snipes Life: Exactly the reason why we’re having Tehol do rankings as well. I’d prefer we all have a discussion and improve the site quality in that way.

      • Blake says:
        (link)

        @Jay:

even in your football projections at 1.0-PPR he is only the 13th best running back in terms of points. So why should he be ranked as the 5th best RB?

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@Blake: As my projection post implies, they are a median result, so because of my standard rankings and the translating rate that FantasyPros puts here, I’m okay with the ranking at this point.

For me to move him down in the PPR rankings, I’d have to slide him down in my standard rankings as well, and I like him where he’s at. I may fine tune it though this weekend when the rankings are updated though.

          • Blake says:
            (link)

            @Jay:

            ok, thx for the explanation!

want to do me a favor? can you update your rankings by Friday morning? got my draft Friday night. going with you guys this year. 1st year I have not subscribed to the huddle.com!

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Blake: Tell you what, I’ll update them tonight. My auction values are coming out tomorrow, and I always like to tweak stuff when big releases come out. If it makes you feel any better, we finished 29th out of 160 outlets last season, beating ESPN, FOX, Yahoo, CBS and other big sites in rankings. I’m looking forward to going even higher this season.

            • Jay

              Jay says:
              (link)

@Blake: I wanted to update. Just in case, we emailed fantasypros, so apparently there is an issue right now with the standard rankings translating into the PPR rankings. I’ve now been given an edit code that will allow me to change those rankings manually, so we should have brand new rankings tomorrow…

  4. Big League Choo says:

12 team full ppr keep 3

My lacy(33$), winston, Josh hill or

His CJ anderson(3$), Jimmy graham, Montee Ball

    Rbs Forte, Gurley, Lacy, Mathews
    TE ASJ, Hill
Wrs Cobb, Cooper, Wallace, Michael Floyd, Stevie Johnson

Wouldn’t keep graham for sure next year, Lacy would be 39 to keep and CJ would be only 5…if manning retires or cj loses his job I still have other good keepers Cobb 16$, Cooper 21$, Forte 38$, Gurley 31$, Michael Floyd 3$

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Big League Choo: Yeah, if that’s the case, I’m leaning slight towards the CJ side here.

  5. OldMilwaukeePounders says:
    (link)

    Jay,

I’ve got two questions for you. First, of the below group I can either keep up to 3 or less and get earlier draft picks. Here are the options:

Megatron (sure thing), Alshon, Russell Wilson, Hyde, Randle, Ellington, Cooks, Sankey, Kelce

Question two is this: Jamaal Charles owner is willing to move him for a WR and a 5th round pick…Would you trade Alshon and a 5th rounder for him?

This is a keep forever, ppr league.

    Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@OldMilwaukeePounders: Tough on the first. I’d go Alshon and Wilson.

On the second… I’d probably want to hold on Alshon since it’s a keeper.

      • Old MilwaukeePounders says:
        (link)

@BP: Thanks both BP and Jay…If I’d pull the trigger on Charles drafting Davis is an absolute priority.

        Thanks again.

  6. A Hill O' Beans says:
    (link)

    Hey Jay,

14 team keeper league and I’m wondering your thoughts on some keeper choices. Looks like there won’t be a ton of RBs kept, so the demand should be pretty high IMO. League is .5 PPR, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 flex spots, 4 pts for passing TDs. Who would you keep? I’m 100% sold on Eli, Alshon, Watkins, Boldin and ASJ, beyond that I’m waffling though. Thoughts?

    QB – Eli ($3), Bottles ($9)
    RB – Ellington ($34), Sankey ($12), Freeman ($10)
    WR – Alshon ($40), Watkins ($11), Boldin ($2), Hurns ($1)
    TE – ASJ ($1), Donnell ($1)

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@A Hill O’ Beans: Any limits? If not, I’m holding onto Hurns and Donnell for possible value. I’d consider Ellington, but if it’s like you say, then you might be able to get him back at discount.

      • A Hill O' Beans says:
        (link)

@Jay: No limits as far as how long you keep guys, and price doesn’t change either. So only limit is the $200 budget and number of roster spots.

I think i agree on Hurns. My concern with keeping Donnell is that I’m then keeping two TEs, which means I’m probably not drafting one. That was my TE rotation last year, and my team was horrible (for a number of reasons, mostly having RG3 and Bottles at QB) so I’m hesitant to not have at least some turnover at each position. I also worry that Donnell was so mediocre the second half last year.

I think I could get Ellington cheaper, if I want him back that is. Would you let Freeman and Sankey go knowing that you’d probably need to draft 5 or 6 backs and everyone is gonna be after RB? I guess that means supply will be high, but competition for the top ones could push prices up. I was thinking for the price (them being so young, and starting for beginning of the year at least) that theyd be decent RB3/RB4 or RB4/RB5.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@A Hill O’ Beans: I hear you on Donnell, he’s really on the meh list for me. I still think you’re getting value there, but I’m not going to argue dropping him. If you think teams will be RB starved, but still want some money back, maybe just flip a coin between Sankey and Freeman. I’d aim at Sankey, but a bit more risk/reward with him.

I think Watkins, Hurns, and Boldin are all keepers still. Eli probably too.

  7. TarmanGotHim says:
    (link)

    Jay!!

Just drafted team number 2. This one was an Auction draft. 10 Team H2H 5X5

I was not fully prepped for my first snake draft, this one more so. I am almost fully prepped and have my 3 big drafts in the next 3 weeks.

    QB – Brees – $15
    WR – A. Brown – $50
    WR – A. Robinson – $3
    WR – Maclin – $7
    RB – C.J. Anderson – $44
    RB – Forsett – $27
    TE – Olsen – $6
    B – L. Blount – $4
    B – J. Stewart – $19
    B – Colston – $6
    B – Steve Smith – $3
    B -Garcon – $3
    B – Vereen – $1
    K – Hauschka – $1
    DEF – Miami – $3

I think I under payed on everyone. It was frustrating to see Forte go for $43, but I had already got CJ and was afraid at that point I’d have no $, but should of went for him because I was fine. I think Forsett is huge on a top OL. Whats your thoughts?

I was also just offered Torrey Smith for my Garcon already. What do you think? Per rankings, Garcon.

    Thanks!!

@TarmanGotHim: well, I’ve never been a Smith guy… Tehol is though. But I do like the group you have here. Solid bench too. Love that Maclin price.
