It's been over a month since I posted my initial IDP rankings, and the only constant since then has been change. I've updated the rankings in those original posts, but some players warrant a closer look for those of you drafting late or trying to figure out Week 1 lineups. I'll post a full set of Week 1 rankings next week, but for now here is a quick look at some players of interest as kickoff looms a week away: If you haven't already, join one of our several RazzDP leagues!

We've had an amazing run so far boys and girls. And by boys and girls, I mean men and women. And by men and women, I mean many men and possibly a woman. But I digress. We've had a great time creating leagues and drafting players so far in the RCLs, but the next week or so will mark the end of what is known as "the drafting season". I think... I have actually have no idea if that's what it's called. If it isn't, it should be. We still have a school system based on an agrarian calender, so why not add farming terminolgy to fantasy football? I've had worse ideas folks. Scary, right? Regardless, if you still want to be a part of the Razzball Commenter Leagues, there are still spots open, and there's no limit to how many leagues you create and/or join. So follow me after the jump to take a shot for some pretty sweet prizes!
Greetings! I'd like to start by praising the Elders for giving me the strength and durability of a Kardashian furburger, allowing me to put in more fantasy sports work in these past few weeks than I ever thought humanly possible. From co-hosting the Razzball Fantasy Football podcast (my wet dream come true) with Jay (great musical choice this week. KUDOS!), to doing the In this League podcast with talented and sexy Bogman and the Welsh (I teach them all about designer clothing), then to my dear-dear friends Justin Mason and Mike Werner's Friends with Fantasy Benefits podcast (I'm stealing that name if it's not trademarked), AND FINALLY I'll also be joining my squad on The Nickel Press Live Show, which we will be doing every week, Sunday mornings before game time. That's not even mentioning the two Fantasy football posts a week and doing my utmost to respond to each and every one of your fantasy questions and comments. Oh, and I dropped THIS!
First allow me to send my condolences to any of you that have already had your draft and in said draft you drafted Jordy Nelson. This is one of the main reasons I won't allow my leagues to draft more than five days before the start of the season. Ranking players within the same position is relatively easy, but comparing players across positions is a much more difficult task. However, it is an essential exercise in order to figure out who to draft, and when. Using my 2015 projections and both VORP (value over replacement player) and VOAP (value over average player), I have ranked the top 543 players. Here are my first 8 rounds in a 12-team league...
[caption id="attachment_36117" align="aligncenter" width="480"]Both Jared and RG-3 have been taken out. If I were Justin Tuck, I'd be worried... Both Jared and RG-3 have fallen. If I were Justin Tuck, I'd be worried...[/caption] WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Okay. Not really. And so it was, and so it shall be, which was proclaimed long ago when the Washington Football Team traded what would be Janoris Jenkins, Michael Brockers, Zac Stacy, Stedman Bailey, Greg Robinson, and Alec Ogletree for Robert Griffin III, and then a few days later, drafted his eventual successor in Kirk Cousins. Bible-speech aside, I have to say, maybe Mike Shannahan and company might have been better off just waiting, you know, until their sixth pick and drafting Ryan Tannehill. Sure, hindsight has that amazing 20/20 vision, but as I mentioned in yesterday's podcast, this quarterback excursion seemed doomed to fail, even as far back to that aforementioned day when both RG-3 and Kirk Cousins were drafted. Obviously, the situation was exacerbated over time by injuries, stunted development, complete coaching failures, further coaching changes, system changes, ownership dysfunction, etc. etc. And this is a normal Monday for the franchise. So here we are and Kirk Cousins is now your Week 1 Starter in Washington. I would go on to establish some fantasy context, but I'm not sure there is any. Just further proof that Washington has now eclipsed the Raiders at being the Raiders. Truly... these are dark days in the District. In case you guys haven't noticed, Fantasy Basketball is warming up once again, and our RCLs are open! If you'd like to go keep J.B. Gilpin company for a bit, I ain't gonna blame you. Afterall, I'm busy keeping his mom company...
