Another wild and crazy few weeks in the books!  We saw the Detroit Lions lose on a buzzer beating touchdown review that overturned Golden Tate’s dive for the endzone and the Philadelphia Eagles win on a franchise long 61-yard field goal from a rookie kicker in Week 3! Week 4 saw a shocker in new England where the Panthers won 33-30 on a last second field goal. and the New York Jets won an OT game on a Chandler Catanzaro field goal.  In Week 5, we saw the emergence of Texans QB Deshaun Watson, who scored 5 TDs on Sunday Night Football.   The remaining undefeated team is Kansas City Chiefs, while the winless teams of 2017 include the Browns, Giants and 49ers. Speaking of the Kansas City Chiefs, rookie Kareem Hunt has basically taken David Johnson’s talent “Space Jam” style as he has been electric with another 69 (nice!) yard touchdown run combined with nearly 90% usage rates out of the backfield on 29 carries last week.

Since I’m sure Jay from Razzball.com has all the major news of Week Six here, let’s dive into the main reason you clicked on this link; Razzball 2017 RCL updates on Fantrax!

From a fantasy perspective, that was certainly one of the most wildest two weeks to open the NFL season! The 2017 NFL season started off with a bang as the Kansas City Chiefs went into New England and stunned the Patriots with a thrilling 42-27 victory that saw rookie running back Kareem Hunt score not one, not two, but three touchdowns and rack up 246 yards from scrimmage. Hunt followed up his marvelous debut with 109 total yards and 2TDs against the Eagles too!  Pour one out for the homie David Johnson, the consensus #1 overall draft pick, as he was unfortunately placed on IR with a dislocated wrist last week.

What’s going on everybody?! Recently, we held the Annual Razzball Writer’s League draft! Well the night was great and we all had lots of fun, but now it is time to recap the event, with each writer (or as many that would respond to my emails) giving his and her analysis on their team, and how the night went. All of the analysis is below, so happy reading! And after you read said analysis, make sure to join in on the fun, as there are some RCL Leagues still open!

We’re going to be hosting a special presentation tonight (and I’m not just talking about Tehol), as the 2017 RCL Writers League Draft will be shown live here on the site at 9:00 PM EDT via Twitch! There will be plenty of ways to interact with us, through the chat and here in the comment section. We’ll answer your questions, unless it’s about Zach drafting Tom Brady first overall. We just have no idea why. So feel free to post your smack talk, critiques and your questions wherever you want (just the way your mother likes it) when the draft goes live!

STREAM UPDATE: DRAFT LIVE SHOW HAS ENDED!

And if you’d like to join your very own Razzball Commenter League, you can here!

As the title states, we crowdsourcing. Since you know how much I love my corporate zeitgeist jargon… let’s source the crowd people! So, there are probably a few questions I want to ask, but the main one that branches out into the others (tree metaphors, woooooo) is basically this: What changes would you like to see next year to the RCLs?

We obviously have gone by a half-PPR format ever since I arrived, but everything else was pretty vanilla when it came right down to it… until this year when we rid ourselves of Kickers and DSTs and added three IDP slots.  And it’s exciting because we’d never done anything exotic like this in the past, just a normal flex, 12-teams, preset scoring in most cases, etc., but I think you could have called half-PPR “exotic” several years ago, and now “standard” scoring seems to be a thing of the past. Times are a changin’, as the song says, and I have the feeling that what we know as a “standard league” today is not necessarily what the industry will cater to moving forward. And as a site that not only provides the best supply of puns and “yo momma” jokes, but also tries to pioneer itself whenever possible (mostly with puns and “yo momma” jokes), I am always very open into looking at new ideas and suggestions from the Razzball community and what you’d like to play and compete with. Even if that means you hate the idea of IDPs or still want to draft Kickers and DSTs (why you would ever, I just don’t know!)

I’d love to be progressive (or regressive if the masses speak!) with the RCLs, but I could use a little help. What changes would you like to see? What formats and scoring do you want to play? Let me know in the comment section below!

In the meantime, the season draws near and we still have some leagues open and drafts still going. Why not join a league for a chance at some great prizes? Here’s how…

Like the title spoiled, the table is set, the forks and spoons are in their right place, and hopefully there’s food ready and on the way. In terms of the RCL universe (since I’m hungry and if there are any more food metaphors, I’ll eventually end up eating my keyboard), the “league” has taken shape and drafts are soon to begin over the next several weeks. (But that doesn’t mean you still can’t create and join your choice of RCLs after the jump!) And, I want to touch on what I just stated above: when I say “league”, I mean league, not leagues. Because ef pluralization… I mean, what has it ever done for me? Regardless, you have to remember, this is one complete universal league. The Milky Way of Fantasy Football if you will, including Antonio Brown, Saturn, and of course, Uranus. Don’t roll your eyes, you knew it was coming. (Just like your mother.) What I’m trying to say is, join any league you like, create as many as you want, and be part… of the universe. Mutha. Effing. DEEP.

So, wouldn’t it be cool if you could take on some of your favorite contributors and all of the Razzball readers/commenters in one huge Free Fantasy Football League? IT WOULD BE COOL YO. That’s why we made this possible. And why we used caps and bolded font. Welcome to the 2017 Fantasy Football RCLs! Where all of the Razzballers get to hang out, talk some football, and compete against each other in the game we all love. While we can’t create a single 500-person league as of yet since the technology has yet to be invented, what we can do is create multiple 12-person leagues and pit them all against each other. If you don’t like that, well, you can be the one to wait for the future. So enjoy those dragons with lasers, wearing tight, black leather and blasting Daft Punk. ENJOY IT. However, if you are not such a timey prude, join us for some Fantasy Football funnage. Totally a word. So I present to you: the 2017 RCL Fantasy Football Season, with prizes!

Note: We have some big changes to announce; and these requests have been implemented with you, the Razzball readers in mind! First, we’ve dropped Yahoo as our provider of choice, moving to FanTrax, a site that’s not just innovative, but streamlined as well. And that’s not all, we have some format changes to announce! You hate drafting Kickers? Do you roll your eyes when someone drafts the Seahawks DST in the sixth round? We know you do! Kickers and DSTs are now gone, replaced by three IDP spots (DL, LB, DB). Because of these changes, we’ve made sure to create 2017 IDP Draft Rankings for all of your RCL needs…

Before you get started, I know that some of you out there may have never played fantasy football before. That’s okay! Razzball has a Beginners Fantasy Football Guide just for you! Maybe you’re a seasoned veteran, well, we have a 2017 Fantasy Football Draft Kit that’s being updated everyday, be sure check it out multiple times. (That’s what she said.) And can’t think of a team name? Check out our Fantasy Football Team Name Generator. Need some rankings? Oh, we got some Fantasy Football Rankings! Now, let’s get to the good stuff…
