Week 3 was such a see-saw for me.  Like a Roseanne Barr vs. Vince Wilfork see-saw.  On the one hand, my Panthers had probably the most shocking win so far this season after that Giants beat down, especially since the Giants beat us 36-7 last year.  That’s a see-saw right there!  Then my writer’s league team moved to 3-0.  On the flip side, my long-time dynasty league had probably my worst week in over 10 years and my DraftKings picks, well, sorry…

But whilst real life hath few second chances, DraftKings gives you a blank slate, a fresh start, a new set of wings.  Because every time Colin Kaepernick sucks it up, an angel loses its wings.  I kid Kappy!  I was just hoping he would favorite that too

After a tough outing last week, I’m excited to start anew with DraftKings contests this week.  I’m going to hop in the $2 Qualifier into the Millionaire Grand Final, where the top winner gets an entry into their week 17 Become a Millionaire Finale where someone will add 7 figures to their bankroll just for picking the best line-up!  And if you’re new to DraftKings, you can get into that contest FREE if you’re a first time depositor.  So if you’re lamenting a brutal team like I am in a few leagues, hop into some DraftKings action today!

Taking a ride on an angel to last week’s picks:

QB – Colin Kaepernick  13-27  150 Yds  20 Rush Yds  (6 Pts)

RB – Stevan Ridley  35 Rush Yds  1 Rec  8 Yds  (5.3 Pts)

WR – Julian Edelman  7 Rec  44 Yds  (11.4 Pts)

FLEX – Tyler Eifert  1 Rec  7 Yds  (1.7 Pts)

TOTAL: 24.4  (previous week’s total: 70.24 Pts)

Not gonna sugar coat it – probably my worst DraftKings selections including the 20ish weeks of baseball.  Pretty much everything that could’ve went wrong did; Kaepernick in what looked like a soft matchup in a bounceback game turned out to be a tough matchup and another colossal failure; at least Ridley didn’t fumble, but with the game out of hand and Josh Freeman upchucking his career Belichick let LeGarrette Blount smoke his former team; then the Packers looked awful and the Bengals D won them the game, not the passing game.  Ugh.  Awful.  Thank god (or an angel) this wasn’t a team I drafted and would have to stick with all year!  Here’s who I like in week 4 for DraftKings action:

QB – Peyton Manning ($9,700) – Enough of this dinking and dunking.  It’s making me drink and drunk.  I’m going all in with Peyton at QB, who should have a fun time dismembering the Eagles secondary in a big shootout.  Everyone knows Peyton is playing at a historic level right now, so I’m spending on probably fantasy’s surest thing.

RB – Jacquizz Rodgers ($4,700) – Despite last week having yet another see-saw in the Falcons backfield – Snelling getting so many catches and Jacquizz more carries – I think the backfield plays out more to what we’d typically expect.  Look for Jacquizz to get double-digit carries and I’m going to put the over/under on 5 catches in what should be a fairly high-scoring game.  Tom Brady and the Pats O will still be working things out even if they have a lead and the Falcons are playing for their lives trying to avoid a 1-3 start.

WR – Julian Edelman ($5,800) – Well I might as well go with the only guy who did anything for me last week.  Edelman is an uber-consistent performer in the DraftKings PPR-format.  Despite only the 44 yards last week, the 7 catches were gold and I think that’s his floor against the Birds, who I think everyone expects will play the Pats harder than the Bucs did last week.  He may not have the biggest ceiling, but you’ll get a guaranteed double-digit game.

FLEX – DeAndre Hopkins ($5,o00) – Hopkins comes into week 4 with a whopping 26 targets in the first three weeks, and I expect that same rate of love coming at him this Sunday.  With Richard Sherman surely shadowing (say that three times fast) Andre Johnson, Hopkins is going to get a lot of looks.  Seattle’s D is obviously playing like the league’s best – I’m not excited for anyone in the Texans run game or AJ himself – so I think it’s Hopkins that gets a lot of the production, and at a very reasonable price.
