Welcome to week 2 of this very young NFL season. One of the most potent receivers in the game now doesn’t have a team. That’s just how it goes sometimes in this crazy and sometimes (most of the time) stupid league. You have lineup questions and Zach, Reid, and myself have answers. If you’re the shy type or find us creepy and/or not funny, Jay (who finished 12th on FantasyPros last week), Zach, and myself have rankings that you can check out. Do you play DFS? Rudy just introduced the new Stackonator tool to his premium tool belt. Our contributors had another great week of providing top shelf fantasy football knowledge and now we just await the results. Let’s get to the weather and injuries.

Weather

The weather seems to be in a good place despite it being hurricane season. The only game that looks like it will be affected by rain and winds is New England @ Jacksonville.

Injuries

Leonard Fournette- Probably Out

Paul Richardson- Out

Devonta Freeman- Out

Davante Adams- Questionable

Devante Parker- Probably playing

Darren Sproles – Out

In a ppr league I need 2 rbs
Hyde- not sure about game flow
    Henry- flat out no trust
Powell- hoping for some dump offs
Ekeler-same hoping for bunch of catches
    K Johnson-completely unknown
Also offered a trade Peterson or Shady for Hilton I already have Brown,OBJ,and Goodwin yes or no?
    Thanks

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Eric: I would stay put with Hilton, but for your 2 backs, I’d go with Powell and Hyde.

  2. Mike says:
    (link)

I’ve gotta replace Freeman in my lineup and the pickings are very slim. Here are my options:

Eckler, kerroyn Johnson and matt berida.

I lean eckler considering he faces a less than stellar bills defense.

    Thoughts?

    • Mike says:

@Mike: sorry, didn’t mean for duplicate questions to be posted. I didn’t think this one was posted.

@Mike: Ekeler isn’t a bad option. He has the lowest floor though

    • Reid

      Reid says:
      (link)

@Mike: I’m all in on Breida out of your options.

Would actually rank them as follows: Breida, Johnson, Ekeler

  3. Mike says:
    (link)

    Eckler, berida or kerryon Johnson.

Which of those three do you start in place of Freeman? I lean eckler. You agree?

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@Mike: I’d go with Brieda. Great matchup

  4. Paul Zone says:

Need help w thisvtrade offer. 10 team PPR. I was offered Ertz/Schuster for my Gronk. Would you accept with this team. I feel my WRs are very weak. Other team said he throw in Clement too but not sure if I want him as I would have to drop 2 players then. Who would you drop if you like the 2 for 1 or 3 for 1,

    Wilson
DJ, Da Freeman (out), Miller, Peterson, Jamaal Williams, Breida
Baldwin (out) Cobb, Garcon, Crowder, Edelman (out), Marshall
    GRONK

    Thanks!

    • MB

@Paul Zone: yeah, I’d do that in a heartbeat!

      • Paul Zone says:
        (link)

@MB: can you give me some rationale? I am struggling w losing gronk. Please convince me!

        Who would you drop?

        • MB

          MB says:
          (link)

JuJu is an every week starter and you’re not losing much at the TE position with Ertz once Wentz is back. Plus, historically speaking, Gronk has a good chance of missing some games because of injury. Personally, I think that its a really good return

        • MB

          MB says:

          id drop Marshall

    • Reid

      Reid says:

@Paul Zone: Ertz and JuJu and I don’t think it’s close

  5. JimmyV says:

    12 team PPR, .25 pprush

    Mike Williams or James White?

It was an easy call, but now that Burk/Sony both might play, I have doubts.

    • Zach

      Zach says:
      (link)

@JimmyV: White. Even if Burkhead or Sony play, he’ll have an exploitable matchup against a Jags D that could shut down Brady’s other opponents.

  7. G says:

Ppr. One spot to start one of Davante Adams, geronimo Allison, or garçon. Obviously Adams is the guy most day so but considering his possible limited status even if active. Thanks

      @Cl: I’d still play Adams

    • Reid

      Reid says:
      (link)

@Cl: Maybe I’m the minority here, but gimme Kenny Stills on this one. I think Minnesota has the best secondary in the NFL and might give an injured Rodgers some fits. I think Stills finds multiple scores today.

  9. Wide Ride says:

also, as you can see above I’m thin at RB and want to bulk it up. Would you trade Case Keenum and Doug Baldwin for laxatives murray and carlos hyde?

its a 2 qb league, have watson, mar iota, rivers, and keenum.

    • MB

      MB says:

@needhelp: yeah, I’d do that trade. And Marlon Mack. Biggest upside

  13. Bobby’s world says:
    (link)

    Yo man!

my team! .5 ppr league I’m looking to consolidate two of my players to upgrade at either WR or RB. I’d be looking to move either two of my bench guys or one bench & 1 starter.

My starters: David Johnson, Melvin Gordon, TY Hilton, Amari Cooper, Emmanuel sanders, Royce Freeman (flex), Ricky seals jones (I stream at TE)

My bench: kerryon Johnson, Jamaal Williams, brieda, ekeler (my Gordon cuff), kupp, Sterling Shepard, Geronimo Allison, Brandon Marshall.

What type of players should I target in a 2 for 1 swap?

    — players I won’t even try because the league mate is huge fan of these players: burkhead, James White, Edelman, Hogan, he has them all he’s a huge pats fan.

    — another owner is another diehard pats fan so not trying to even attempt for his Dion Lewis, gronk , dorsett. He also has Sony Michel but I think given the right deal I think I could get him.

** the wire is kinda thin best available RBs: gio Bernard clears waivers Wednesday but I won’t be able to get him, Corey clement, CJ Anderson, devontae Booker

Best available WRs: kelvin Benjamin, Dante pettis, Ryan grant, Tyler Boyd he clears waivers Wednesday, John brown clears waivers Wednesday, cole Beasley, Courtland Sutton, Gallup.

I’m not starting him now but thoughts on Dante pettis going forward? He’s available didn’t know if you’d drop Allison for him.

Thanks man have a good Sunday!!

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

@Bobby’s world: I’d definitely drop Allison for Pettis. I like Pettis a lot going forward, he was very impressive in his debut. I wouldn’t mind offering Breida and Marshall for Michel. I like his upside. Problem is the Pats backfield is crowded so that’s all that I would give up. There’s nothing on the waiver wire that jumps out to me besides Pettis

      • Reid

        Reid says:
        (link)

@MB: MB knows how much I love Pettis. I think he’s going to be a good player this year and monster for years to come.

      • Bobby’s world says:
        (link)

        @MB:

        Thanks for the response man!

So I’m in a pickle, we start a defensive player IDP just one slot for IDP I dropped mine last week with the intention to add one I never did but added yeldon , I was mainly adding yeldon to trade to Fournette owner he rejected them. I wasn’t doing anything crazy just yeldon for his worst bench RB Aaron jones basically cuff for cuff since I have jamaal Williams. I then did just yeldon for Danny trevathen his bench IDP he let the offer expire.

Sooo I need to either drop yeldon or someone else for a defensive player. I would drop Allison for IDP but I wanted to use Allison for pettis. I could try the Fournette owner again but it crunch time. Maybe yeldon + Amari Cooper + Royce Freeman for Jordan Howard + Aaron jones? Use the open spot I created by dealing 3 for a IDP? Realistically I may have to do a drop though grr

14 team PPR keep 2 (joined league back when AB was a 4th rounder, he’ll be that as long as i want him). no top 2 rounder can ever be kept. never got less than 3rd in this league, but this year is getting so injured already that’s looking hard. DID get VERY lucky to win week 1 with TWO zeros in my WR slots (baldwin/goodwin). goodwin was the 2nd keeper (last rounder). one move left on week. just dropped gio B too. and drafted mckinnon in 2nd round (then way overbid to get morris)
QB luck/trubisky (could dump the backup here, all of these available: tyrod, winston, tannehill, flacco)
RB (2) mixon (out at least 2 weeks, sounds like 4-5 though when he was compared to michel just now), morris, crowell, burkhead, montgomery
WR (3) AB, beasley, pettis (just added), beasley, richardson (late week injury, no fri practice), a.wilson (parker sounds back, yuck for wilson), baldwin (right when i finally find his price worth buying for the first time ever in only instance owned ever)
    TE (1) doyle
    1 flex
    IR (2) goodwin, jeffery

was already thinking of grabbing pettis to maybe start over richardson this week with goodwin out, that’s pretty easy now that richardson shows up with late week injury

    1. drop a.wilson for richard? (RB depth getting further hurt by mixon needing shortish term surgery, never really knowing how hurt burkhead might actually be), wilson is dropped later anyway when goodwin or jeffery is back.

    2. drop wilson or beasley for callaway now with gordon gone (or about to be gone)?

only one move left for week (5)

My RB starting options today in my 12-team 0.5 ppr league aren’t great: Hyde, J. Williams, and Yeldon. Complicating things is the uncertainty over the Jags RB situation and their late kickoff.

With Fournette *probably* out, should I start Yeldon and Hyde, or is Yeldon not enough of an upgrade over Williams to take the risk that Fournette might go?

    • MB

      MB says:
      (link)

@friar: as of yesterday it really sounded like Fournette was a no go. I’d go with Yeldon and Hyde.

      • friar says:
        (link)

@MB: Thanks! Jaguars beat reports are saying on twitter that Fournette looks good jogging pre-game. Does this change your Yeldon-over-Williams recommendation, or is this just unfounded optimism on the part of the Jags reporters?

I’m weak at RB, have Le’Veon Bell sitting on my bench. Was just offered James Connor and Jamaal Williams for Joe Mixon and Adam Thielen. Should I accept? 10 team non ppr league.

    • The imp says:
      (link)

@Joe: Seemsblike a bad trade to me. Williams could be irrelevant when Aaron Jones is back week 3 and Bell’s return renders Connors relevance moot. I assume Thelein is an every week WR for you and Mixon was a workhorse back last week. For the long term of the team I would hold.

    • Imp says:
      (link)

@Joe: I don’t like this trade. When Jines is back week 3, Williams is likely unplayable. Same with Connor if you get Bell anytime soon. So you’d give up two top 50 players for two guys that won’t Ben playable by the end of the year. I know it sucks now while Mixon and Abell are out, but I wouldn’t want to tank the long term potential with this deal.

    • Zach

      (link)

@Fonzinoon: you don’t even need to improve on cam at QB, and that’s THREE ridiculously high risk guys for one top 4 PPR overall guy. also you’d probably have to drop RB’s or WR’s that you can use anyway (and the RB’s you might NEED for a bit with mixon out)

  22. Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadoo says:

12 team 2 QB half PPR dynasty.
QB rodgers, mahomes, rodfather, foles, rosen (foles eventually gets dropped probably)
RB (2) kamara, yeldon (recent add while michel was IRable), burkhead, ingram, ekeler
    WR (3) thielen, k.allen, j.brown, jordy, edelman, d-jax
    TE (1) ertz
    2 flexes (R/W/T)
    IR (2) michel, lee
    K KC kicker
    DEF JAX

clearly yeldon starts this week for the exact reason i bought him (he was cheaper than some other adds this week, and the fournette owner didn’t really try to win him either, odd, maybe i can flip him to the fournette owner for a 3rd round pick or something (we only have a 3 round slow draft every year). burkhead (injured and horrible matchup), d-jax (horrible matchup) are my current BN’es. burkhead is still being ranked pretty highly at FP’s top 30 guys for half PPR though. they would say BN jordy in one of the flexes for burkhead, what you guys think.

    • MB

sweet jebus, this is the coolest, weirdest thing i’ve seen in a box score. TEN on it’s OWN side of the field, just had top IDP S (top 10ish ranked by the good rankers) on an attempted PUNT throw a 66 yd TD to somebody, for those who have byard in IDP leagues, they SAID he was risky due to his leaning on BIG PLAYS (rather than expected tackles to a relative degree), well they couldn’t have meant THIS, but i’ll take it.

    • Better Call Limehouse says:
      (link)

@William Hung: i’ve been saying drop duke after each CLE game. rodfather’s game isn’t geared towards the pass catching only backs (mccoy wouldn’t count here as he’s an EVERYTHING back, or was). assuming TB eventually plays a team that tries to defend passing offense, barber should get more carries. thus far TB’s coaches are like playing tecmo super bowl (either NES or SNES one) with a team with a good QB, and pass catchers. just throw pretty much every play and guys catch it, pretty much particularly on bombs.

good god, MIN is good at drafting/signing just bad kickers. walsh a few years back literally misses a chip shot to give away a game to SEA, then right after that walsh SIGNS with SEA (sure looked like an inside job on that one eh, why else would a team WANT TO SIGN the guy who single handedly GAVE THEM a playoff game), now this carlson twit.

    • The Harrow says:

@The Harrow: get ready everybody to add d.bailey now before he gets signed to MIN. they’ve only given up one win and turned it into a tie from that sad sack they have back there kicking as good as i could, or dee from sunny (she broke her foot when it counted). i have no idea why teams with kickers like this (although who else’s kicker could really be that bad) didn’t just nab bailey as soon as DAL cut him, bailey has been very good for years now.

12 teamer with 6 PT td throws. lost walker is why i have watson and jonnu (but nobody on TEN needs to be owned if badbert is playing for them). weekly reset waivers, i might actually win again somehow with this (had mariota starting last week and won), but if not i’m more likely to get callaway.
    QB tygod
RB (2) barkley, ajayi, coleman, royce, clement
WR (2) fitz, k.allen, cobb, hurns, grant (could’ve dropped grant for callaway just before CLE’s game, didn’t though)
TE (1) watson (stupid brees today), jonnu
    IR jeffery

i’m done trusting the bots on hurns, 5 targets in 2 games is enough for me. grant also had no volume this week, after TONS in week 1.
drop either/both (the other is gone when jeffery is back anyway) for what order of: callaway (CLEARLY he’s the top grab), boyd, pryor (can’t believe suddenly this guy is useful), j.gordon, richarson, a.wilson

    2. suppose i can also drop jonnu for RB depth or a different TE (but streaming these might work too, or just hold watson)
RB: riddick (he’s gotta be the best here), j.allen, wilkins, hines
    TE: j.james, ASJ, hooper,
