Well, I’m confused. This past weekend’s outcome were just weird. Some trash won, other garbage teams looked average; I don’t know what to make of this anymore. Everyone to 8-8! Well c’mon Max you dumb mofo, tell me something that’s not making me dumber. Well okay, okay, I shall drop some knowledge on you: The AFC East and NFC West look like the best divisions, by a long margin, in the NFL this year. The AFC South and NFC EAST look like my cat’s turds. Who goes into the weekend wanting to see a Blake Bortles vs. Ryan Mallet game? Maybe a Kirk Cousins vs. Sam Bradford match-up interests you? The only team that looks like they can be really dominant this year are the Cardinals. The Bills are resembling Jekyll and Hyde, while the Broncos look hella confused about their identity. This is the weirdest season I’ve been a part of in my lifetime.
Did we learn much from last weekend’s Eagles game? A little. Remember when you were in high school science class and your teacher taught what the word “malleable” meant? Well the Eagles O-Line resembled Play Doh. I feel bad for Murray, Sproles and Matthews; they’re not bad players but they have no chance with the way the offense is running right now. What I did learn was that Demarco Murray is going to get most of the touches, running and passing. Ryan Mathews is droppable in all formats unless he is handcuffing Murray for you, because he will hold no value unless there is an injury. Darren Sproles will be the most inconsistent fantasy player from week to week based on the opponent’s D and how much they’ll be throwing from behind. This is a mess of a team right now, but I might consider buying low on Murray if the opportunity presents itself.

Today I want to take a look at the Broncos offense. There are many question marks everywhere. Let’s start from the top down: Peyton Manning. Now I’ve watched both his game this season to completion and man does he look shaky. He has some nice throws here and there but they are far too few to even be considered consistent. People think that Thursday’s win was a redemption game right? Hell no, it was brutal for the most part. He looks very inaccurate, the ball is coming out wobbly a ton and he looks less poised and composed than I’ve ever seen him. If it wasn’t for the Chiefs D’s inability to catch the ball, Manning would have had 2-3 more interceptions. He just looks real bad. Now you might think he just needs time to get adjusted and he’ll be fine, but in reality the more time it takes, the more the wear and tear of the season affects him and his body will not hold up. I just really don’t like what I’m seeing and am scared for Broncos fans everywhere when week 10+ comes along. I own Manning on some teams and am really regretting my decision. On the bright side, the defense looks really solid.
The RB situation is shaky as well. The O-line is looking really awful here. Just like the Seahawks and Eagles before them, they are getting nothing done. They cannot run block or pass block too well right now. Things are not looking up for C.J Anderson or Ronnie Hillman. With the passing game being weaker than last season, stopping the run game is a higher priority for defenses. I’m having a hard time giving Anderson a vote of confidence here but I would expect the Broncos to give Anderson 1-2 more weeks of 15-18 touches before they start switching over to Hillman. After that, it’s anyone guess. I really believe the O-line is the problem here.
The receiving corp is great. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are both phenomenal, nothing more to look at here. Own them everywhere with confidence. Owen Daniels is not looking too hot, I missed on this guy with my Sleeper post. He looks old and brittle still. Luckily he wasn’t worth much on draft day. Virgil Green might one day be a sneaky red zone play. You heard it here first. Avoid everyone else.
What do you guys think of old man Peyton?
You can follow Max on Twitter.
Which side do you like better? John Brown / Martavis Bryant for Keenan Allen / Dunbar / Helu.
0.25 ppr + returns. The side getting Helu has Latavius Murray.
I dont like going with the unknown in bryant, but that side is really intriguing to me. I’m struggling with this as Allen has the highest floor (Im a big fan of using that as my base). I would say if the side getting JB and MB is weak in Wr then take it. Otherwise I like Allen and Murray with handcuff more since Allen is the #1 player for me in this deal. Dunbar is droppable in most leagues.
It’s a 14-team league. I have:
Rodgers
Cooks
Allen
Robinson
Lacy
Woodhead
Eifert
Moncrief
David Johnson
Dunbar
Helu
Charles Johnson
Ladarius Green
Does that change your feelings?
@DT2: Well think about it this way. Youre starting:
Cooks
Keenan
A. Robinson
Moncrief
With WR and flex right now, is it worth Moving Allen for Brown and Bryant? Helu and Dunbar are not worth anything to you right now.
Youll have Cooks, Robinson, Brown, Bryant, Moncrief – One of them will have to sit on your bench. So you are moving Allen in order to have one of them, or someone else on your team sit.
Bryant might be incredible when he returns, but is just as likely to do nothing.
I’d try to get 1 WR and 1 WR in the deal. Try for Bryant and a RB. For Allen, Helu and Dunbar.
PPR
Vereen/B Coleman or D Adams/McKinnon
@Chicken Dinner: Id take Adams – Mckinnon is useless unless you own AP for a handcuff however. Take the best available palyer unless youre really weak in many places.
Good write-up.
Manning was a boom/bust pick before the season; but he wasn’t valued as such. He went for/drafted around Matty Ice, Wilson, etc. Both those guys much higher floor(though Wilson hasn’t done too much yet). I was not a Peyton fan going in, so I’m not buying in now.
@pbmax: Maybe he’ll start doing adult diaper commercials soon?
10 team 1/2 ppr
Have a Rb and a wr 3 predicament
Who to start gore d murray coleman blount matt jones
Have gore and jones in tentatively — coleman and blount no way — murray is hurt has been terrible and faces the jets defense
For wr 3 — garcon or davante adams — i have cooks and allen robinson at wr 1 wr 2
@Barker:: another option drop mathews or blount for crowell and start crowell over jones?
@Barker: Which Matthews? Id own Crowell over blount at this point
@Max: ryan mathews
@Barker: Id own crowell over both, but not sure about starting him over Jones
@Barker: If Adams is healthy going into the weekend play him. otherwise go garcon.
RB, you have a lot of very meh backs to play with. This is really tough. You are correct to avoid blount, I picked Morris to be the bust of the year going into the season so Matt jones could be a nice play. I dont like gore much to be honest.
Go ahead and Flip a coin between Jones, Gore, Murray. Just kidding, Jones for sure, if Murray is healthy enough to get touches go him, otherwise gore.
What side of this trade. 12 Team 0.5 PPR
AJ Green & Melvin Gordon or Demaryius Thomas & VJax
@fabuloso10: Demaryius and VJax
@Max: In terms of value and not looking at what the team needs are.
Who to start this week Eli Manning or Phillip Rivers and Is Eli a QB1 or 2 and Is Phillip Rivers a QB1 or 2
@Dom B: Eli
Any struggling players you would be looking to buy low on? It sounded like Murray would be an option but your passing on Anderson?
Could you give me a few players who are struggling a bit but you have confidence they will bounce back?
@Wacha wacha: Murray and CJ would be doable, but the biggest play could be Marshawn Lynch
Green is my backup TE (I have Eifert as a starter). With the injury concerns around Green (in addition to the return of Gates coming up), is it worth stashing him or should I drop him now? Free agents include: Cook, Hill, Donnell, Watson, Rodgers, Fasano, Fells…
@DT2: I’d prefer depth at other positions rather than holding a backup TE that you could just pickup on the bye week
@Max: Randle, Royal, and Stedman Bailey are all available at WR. Not much at RB other than Khiry Robinson. Bridgewater, Cutler, Bortles, Smith, and Fitzpatrick at QB. Whaddya think?
@DT2: maybe royal
Ok so I have Eli Manning if I don’t want to lose Phillip Rivers on the wavier wire is it okay to drop Legartte blount for him. All so on the wavier wire is Isaiah Crowell and Shane Verren. Whow do I drop for rivers and do I add one of those guys or just drop blount for rivers.
My roster
QB ELI MANNING
RB Leveon Bell
RB Jonathan Stewart
WR Julio Jones
WR AJ Green
TE Jason Witten
Flex Latavius Murray
K STEVE HAUSCHKA
DEF BRONCOS
BENCH
TE CROCKETT GILMORE
WR KEENAN ALLEN
RB GIO BERNARD

Either Phillip Rivers or Legartte Blount
@Dom B: crockett or blount
