It’s been a busy two weeks in Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers signed a three-year gazillion-dollar contract, Davante Adams has been traded to Las Vegas, and Big Ernie the cheese churner came out of retirement. What does it all mean? Will the stink of the cheese be greater than ever in Green Bay this season? Not […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Tight End is an interesting position in Fantasy Football. With the game’s predilection for the passing, one might think that all pass-catchers (Tight Ends included) would have a great deal of appeal for managers of fantasy football teams, but they haven’t. Many of these players will likely accrue aroudn500 yards receiving and five touchdowns and […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?We have reached the ocean floor of our wide receiver ranking. It is dark, empty, and bleak down here. There are some treasures to be found on the sea bed but you are more likely to find ghosts and eerie creatures. Many of these receivers are former 1st and 2nd round draft picks who never […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? It’s odd to say that a team that finished 8-9 on the season and tied for last place in their division was lucky. But that’s exactly what the Browns were in 2021. In fact, it’s about the luckiest 8-9 record you might ever see. Of their eight wins, five of them were one-score affairs. I […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Eggs and bacon. Cookies and milk. Seahawks and Russell Wilson. Three pairs that will forever go down in the annals of history as inseparable pairs. Or so we thought! Until the news broke that Russell Wilson had invaded Russia. Wait, I got my news stories crossed up. I write for the Wall Street Journal in […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?Think back to eleven months ago when it was NFL Draft SZN and the Cincinnati Bengals had the fifth pick in the 2021 draft. They just finished a 2020 season where they went 4-11-1 and lost their prized rookie quarterback, Joe Burrow, to an ACL injury. Before Burrow went down, stud rookie wide receiver Tee […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? Many unproven players and free agents in this group of receivers. All of them are long shots to be solid fantasy football contributors. By the time you reach this group, you should have at least 4 receivers, so hopefully, you aren’t counting on these guys too much. That’s not to say there isn’t talent and […]
Please, blog, may I have some more?We should #NeverForget that Chicago could have entered 2021 with any of Dak Prescott, Patrick Mahomes, or Deshaun Watson at quarterback. In 2016, the Bears passed on Dak Prescott in the draft six times when they had just 32-year old Jay Cutler at the position. In 2017, the Bears decided to trade FOUR draft picks […]
Please, blog, may I have some more? This group is one that good fantasy managers will know well. Wide Receivers 41-80 offer a mix of high-upside youngsters whose ceiling seems unlimited and old reliable veterans who provide a stable floor. The variance in predicting their future fantasy production is exacerbated by the fact that many of them are free agents, so we must evaluate them without team context, which can be a beneficial exercise. It is more pertinent to know the player than their situation. I like to get a mix of the high floor and ceiling players from this bunch, but I would rather have more ceiling than floor, a bad blueprint for a carpenter, but a good plan for a fantasy manager. My team design requires I take at least three players from this group at the draft. Whether that is WR 2 through 5 on my rosters, or 3 through 6 is relatively inconsequential to me. Let’s analyze this group player by player.
Please, blog, may I have some more?I remember it like it was yesterday. We had just finished Week 4 of the NFL season. By that point, we were all basking in the warm glow of Sam Darnold being QB5 on the season, averaging an amazing 24.44 fantasy points per game. All of the Darnold truthers up in Noo Yawk, of which there are tens, were rejoicing in their prognostications that “ALL HEEZ NEEDS TO DO IS MOVE ON FROM THAT BUM ADAM GASE!”
Please, blog, may I have some more? The receiver position will be deep in 2022, and it only gets better as this year’s draft class looks solid and will offer at least seven immediate starters, but also has quality depth throughout the class. I recommend taking one of the players from the top six to ensure you have an elite and reliable playmaker at the position. After A.J. Brown they all have blemishes, but they also have upside. Pocket your top six stud and you will feel better about chances with the rest. I wouldn’t mind starting a draft with Deebo Samuel (6) and waiting until Michael Pittman Jr. (23) to get your second wideout. The position has studs and depth to offer. Let’s begin our breakdown with the top 40.
Please, blog, may I have some more?If you’re in New York, you have to be excited for the future of the NFL in the state. The Jets showed some flashes towards the end of the season that suggest they’re headed in the right direction, and they have plenty of draft capital and cap space to work with this year to continue to build out their roster. New York recently launched mobile sports betting, and when Jets’ football returns, there’s a chance they will be a team well worth betting on. Especially with DraftKings New York, one of the top mobile sportsbooks in the state. Let’s take a look at the ideal offseason for the Jets with the mindset of building this team into a winning squad in 2022.
