I just snuck out of a court ordered gambling rehab facility to write this post, so I’ll have to be brief. After I was arrested for stealing old ladies’ purses from the retirement home down the block to fund my string of Arizona Cardinals’ Super Bowl wagers (a 50:1 lock!), the judge sentenced me to 6 month’s of in-patient rehab. Since I’ll be releasing my weekly fantasy football rankings each Thursday morning for the duration of the season, I’ve decided to throw in some bonus bold Thursday Night Football predictions along with my expertly handicapped pick for the contest:

Miami Dolphins (+3) at Jacksonville Jaguars

Forecast: Dolphins at Jaguars, Fitzmagic at Minshew Magic, beard at moustache, it doesn’t get much better than this folks! Obviously this game will be all about Uncle Rico Minshew. His swag will cast a shadow so big on Thursday night that no other player will even be seen other than maybe Saucy Boi Preston Williams—who happens to be my favorite buy-low wide receiver target following weeks 1 and 2. But back to Minshew Mania: the Jock Strap King will arrive at the stadium 10 minutes before game time wearing nothing but a leopard print jock. Without any stretching or warm up throws, the mustachio’d one with lead the Jaguars on a 69 yard touchdown drive on the opening series. It’ll be all mustache from there except for a series he’ll take off after halftime while recording a track for his new album—see below. So jump on that sweet stache and ride it all the way to a Thursday night victory!

 Jaguars 52, Dolphins 20

Wager: Jaguars -3 (1 Unit)

2020 Season: 0-2 (-2.2 Units) after Burrow backdoored our Browns last week

Anyway, here’s my fantasy football rankings for week 3 which will be frequently updated until Sunday kickoff:

    Morning DT,

First time playing Fantasy Football for a long time. Have stuck to baseball normally. I was asked to join a league by the commish made up of fellow English NFL fans. Couldn’t resist. 10 team league, STD scoring.

Am 2-0. But have lost Run CMC. All four 2-0 teams play each other this week.

    QB – Murray
    RB – Mixon, Kelley
WR – DK Metcalf , Godwin
WR/RB – David Johnson or Diggs
    TE – Waller
    DST – Colts

BN – Brady, CMC, Dobbins, Gibson, C Davis (TEN)

    1. Who do I start at WR/RB this week David Johnson or Diggs ?

    2. I need to make a drop, so I can pick up a IDP player (DL) to start. Who is the drop ? Davis ?

    3. Golladay is a FA (I assume because we have no IR spots). He is a must pick up, right ? for Gibson, Dobbins or Brady ? (If I have already got rid of Davis?)

    Thanks,

    Dan

      Hey Dan,

Nice team, tough break on CMC.

      1. DJ
      2. Brady
      3. Yes, must grab. Lose Davis for him.

      No problem, anytime.

    • Anthony Williams says:
      (link)

      1/2 point PPR, lost Sutton.
Looking to start 1 of the 3:

      Golladay
      Cole
      M.Williams

Starting these in my other WR spots

      Parker
      Gage

      • Donkey Teeth

        Donkey Teeth says:
        (link)

Cole is tempting with Chark officially out but I think you gotta go with Golladay

  2. hamtime says:
    (link)

    1. Drop Cohen for hamler?
    2. Burned my #1 on m Davis (should’ve gotten Henderson!). Drop Davis for hamler
    3. David Johnson for cam? (Have stafford)

Just got offered Sammy Watkins for m Davis. Accept?

  3. Linda from Bob's Burgers says:
    (link)

My DJ Moore for his Kareem Hunt?

PPR redraft and I have Michael Thomas, Lockett, Mike Evans, Robby Anderson, DaVante Parker and Jamison Crowder. We have to start 3 WRs each week and only 2 RBs, with 1 flex.

My RBs are Cohen, J. White and B. Scott. He’s got CEH, K. Drake, Chris Carson and Jerrick McKinnon (and Hunt).

He also offered Hunt & McKinnon for Moore & Crowder.

Would you make either of these trades?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

It makes sense for your team but I’d want a little more for DJ. Any chance of working out a deal for Drake or Carson instead?

      • Linda from Bobs Burgers says:
        (link)

No, he wouldn’t budge on either. Will only part with Hunt and wants Moore or Lockett. I asked for Hunt and McKinnon for Moore and that’s when he countered and wanted Crowder too.

What do you think, should I pass?

        • Donkey Teeth

          Donkey Teeth says:
          (link)

I’d rather give Lockett than Moore. I think it makes sense for your team, especially if you can get McKinnon too. You could really use the RBs.

  4. Jorginho says:
    (link)

drop Stafford for Herbert, better outlook ROS?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:

I prefer Stafford but they’re close

  5. miles proudfoot says:

Is Brady a must keep in 12 team redrafts? What do you see for him the rest of the season? Tannehill, Roethlisberger, Goff, Burrow are on the wire. Time to make a change, or perhaps drop Harry or Tate to carry a 2nd QB which I normally wouldn’t do. Thank you!

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

No, not must keep. I’d dump him for Tannehill and go week by week. No problem!

  6. Jake From State Farm says:

Thinking about offering Fournett and Slayton for CMC is that a fair trade or do you believe that would upset league mates ?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

Maybe a little on the low-ball side but not a bad starting point, especially if the owner has started 0-2. But who knows what will upset people…

  7. G says:
    (link)

Last week I stacked my WR3 and Flex with Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis, benching Preston Williams, and it worked out well. I was thinking of keeping Jonnu Smith in my flex (have Kelce as my TE) and starting Preston Williams tonight over Corey Davis. I know how you have them ranked and you seem to like Williams more than some others, but wondering if I should stick with last weeks plan or hope Preston has his big day in a possible shootout game?? I could also benched Jonnu for both WR but he Had a lot of looks last game. Thansk

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      I’d go with both WRs

  8. Jake says:
    (link)

8 team league, no flex, my RBs are Jacobs and Kamara and I’ve been sitting Aaron Jones. Worth it to trade Jones and Tyler Boyd for McCaffery and JuJu(or DJ). I have Amari, Golladay and Ridley as my starting WRs already So really just gives me more top depth and and takes away the other guys best WR. Worth doing or why mess with a good thing??

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

Lotta tough decisions with only 8 teams. Think I’d sit tight for now. If anything, maybe look to trade Jones for an elite WR like Adams or Hopkins.

  9. Chet says:
    (link)

Thanks, DT! Question: I’m offering DJ Moore, Joshua Kelley and Mike Davis for Jonathan Taylor. The other owner has Akler and McCaffery. Am I offering up too much?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

No problem! Nope, I think that offer’s strong and fair. Hopefully it gets the job done!

  10. southside dom says:

Standard scoring. Lost CMC :-( and trying to figure out RB.

Which 2 do you like in standard?
    JK Dobbins vs KC (Monday)
    Josh Kelley @ CAR
    Myles Gaskin @ JAX (Thurs)
    James White vs LV
    Nyheim Hines vs NYJ

Also, which WR for a flex (or any of the above RBs)?
    Marvin Jones @ ARI
    Will Fuller @ PIT

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

Ouch, really stings since you didn’t have much depth. I’d go with Kelley and Dobbins. Fuller at flex if he plays, if not then Marvin.

Thanks for keeping the info coming DT…

Deep (12 team x 20 roster) full PPR with various bonuses…currently have:

RB: A Jones, Taylor, Rojo, M Brown, B Scott
WR: Godwin, Woods, Chark, M Jones, Watkins, A. Miller, Hamler + Campell stashed on IR

Only RBs of note available are Wilson, Burkhead, McKissick, Breida, Bernard, Richard, GusBus
WRs available include B Edwards, V Jefferson, Mooney, Cephus, Borne, J Washington, Conley, Sanu, Pascal, Amendola

Only bench stash at this point, but Hold A Miller hoping for the best or bench-stash somebody else off these lists? Edwards or Jefferson maybe??

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Thanks for reading, Bob.

I’d stick with Miller for now. Edwards would be my choice if you really had the itch to make the more. I don’t have them very far apart ROS fwiw.

      • bobsnyder4210 says:

Thanks…I got burned by Miller-Mania last year and I only have him because he was cheap late in the draft. Now that Nagy is looking like he’s signed on to a mentorship with Gase – making the Bears as useless as the Jets, for real-world and fantasy – I’m starting to wonder how and when to exit. I like the player…but players usually can’t overcome stupid coaches…

Hi Donkey, thanks for the rankings. always very good help.

But you sure to start Watson vs PIT instead of Minshew vs MIA?

I have both and have Watson in my lineup, but lately im 2nd guessing.

Please offer me so ease of mind.

    thanks,

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

I don’t think “sure” is the right word, I’m not sure about much!

Pitt has a great D but their specialty is stopping the run. I think Watson should still have a solid fantasy day as he’s force to throw.

That said, I won’t be surprised if Minshew has the better day. It’s just tough benching a guy like Watson.

      Hope that helps. No problem.

Thoughts on tre’quan? Is his shelf life just 2 weeks? Am I better off w hamler or Cobb?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

Not sure on the shelf life but I do prefer Tre’Quan to those guys. I expected Sanders to be a much bigger factor last week, if week 3 is a repeat then I think Tre’Quan could find himself as the surprise #2 in New Orleans ROS which is very enticing…

  15. howie2978 says:

I have Godwin and Woods at WR and Henry and McKinnon at RB.

Who from this list would you Flex?
    Smith-Schuster

  16. Starlord says:
    (link)

First of all, couldnt have been happier that you put in a Marc Rebillet JAM.

Got a conundrum for you – I have the old boys in Matty Ice & Discount Double-Check, and the young gun Minshew Mania Magical Moustache in a superflex league.

Obviously they’re 9-10-11 in your rankings with Minshew being last. For some reason that doesn’t make my decision any easier seeing them so tightly grouped. I feel like Minshew might have more upside than Matty going against CHI, but they’re also just always going to throw the ball. For A-Rodg, I thought people were sleeping on him this year so I’m pretty high on him, and also have Davante, but if Davante sits that obviously limits his upside.

What do you think? I’m feeling some magic for TNF and leaning toward sitting Matty for Uncle Rico but I don’t feel good about sitting any of these guys tbh. Embarrassment of riches, I guess?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:

      Rebillet is awesome.

BAL DEF is on waivers since playing the Chiefs this week. I currently have Indy DEF who are playing well but BAL may be in a tier of their own. Would you spend #2 waiver or hold?

    • Donkey Teeth

      Donkey Teeth says:
      (link)

      Hey Matt,

I don’t usually like to waste that high of a waiver priority on a defense when you might be able to snag a difference making RB in a couple weeks. Maybe they’ll clear waivers?

      Ha no problem!

    • The Harrow says:
      (link)

right now IND is 5th by FO, BAL 3rd. not big enough of a gap to use a 2 waiver.

  18. Nightpandas says:
    (link)

With AJ Brown likely missing this week, I’m weak at wr2 I would backfill with MVS. TreQ Smith is also on the wire

For my 2 rb and flex I have Drake Ekeler Mackinnon Kelley AP Gibson

Got offered CD Lamb for Mackinnon and Robbie Anderson for Kelley…making either of these or staying out? I am 0-2 but feel I have a decent team.

    14 team std

    Hay again DT…

So talk me down here on this lineup…this morning it was M Ryan, DJ Moore, DJ Chark, Ekeler, Drake, J Robinson, Hurst and I was pretty OK with that. Lost Chark, stashed him on IR, picked up Cole. Thoughts on a couple things if you would…

    1) could play Cole, Woods (but…Tre’Davious White) or Boyd (meh) as the second receiver
2 ) could play Hunt instead of Robinson
    3) could do any of those things (except play Cole), drop Cole back and stream in Tannehill for Ryan

So many choices and so little brain power here on my end. Thoughts??

      Donkey Teeth says:

      Hey Bob,

      1) I agree it’s risky in a tough matchup, but I’d still start Woods

      3) I’d stick with Ryan

Thanks, man…that’s pretty much what every ranking list, set of projections and start/sit tool has been telling me, but I just wanted one more confirmation…this is the league where I fell to 0-2 last week by 8 pts because I lost Barkley mid-game and didn’t play Hunt over Barkley, Drake or Ekeler (go figure). So I need this one.

    RB: Dalvin Cook

    Flex: Diontae Johnson

But other possible subs for any of those are:

ok, you say bench cook. that total tonight moved up from 44 to 48.5 but i doubt they don’t go over that. JAX horrible D (31st vs pass, much better vs run) and MIA is 31st or worse at pass and run. i’m playing minshew over watson (somebody else had this above, FP has them back to back like you do too with watson 1 spot higher. but chance of PIT just completely destroying watson looms too high for me)

this is what i get for starting minshew on a week that isn’t watson’s bye. MIA’s league worst through 2 weeks def looking pretty good, plus we got conley dropping balls all over the place. he wouldn’t have caught that TD even if it was possible for him to.

            • Mantis Tobaggan MD says:
              (link)

also o’shaugnessy not having any idea of a short pass isn’t helping. even though it’s true that players are playing for their next year jobs (and this year’s); the stuff that happened in major league (the movie) is super rare. when owners/management intend to lose, that shit filters downward and people usually play down to that. go watch PIT (MLB)’s defense, the effort, not the talent. people check out. not all of them and not all the time, but it doesn’t take much of that for a whole team to be an utter mess, like JAX here having 7 points with around 1/8th of the game to go at home vs the league’s worst D (they appear to be about to score, but at best 15 points)

              • Mantis Tobaggan MD says:
                (link)

could be argued since thurs i should’ve just dodged this entirely if it was close (which i thought watson vs minshew was).

Gesicki is free . Would have to drop Jared cook and Kerryon Johnson in order to get him .
    10 team standard

Have crowder on ir but not out yet .why I would have to drop 2

KJ nobody needs to own in 10 teamers. even in 12’s you could drop then add again later when crowder gets his out tag again.

Yeah Not afraid to drop kerryon even though we go with two flexes in a very deep bench with no good running backs on the wire but what I was saying is I would have to drop Jared cook too but too late now

Yeah if Yahoo hasnt designated the guy as ‘out’ yet then they make you take that guy out of the IR before you can make a move. I think I would’ve done it for Gesicki but not like it’s a slam dunk or anything. Don’t sweat it…unless Gesicki go for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns tonight!

this is true, HOWEVER, IF you input your claims BEFORE tues at around 11 am or just before you CAN leave the guys that were “out” and might be again in a few days in the IR slots. getting ahead of this is a big deal sometimes.

the “got away from gase all stars” update. players that didn’t do much till they got away from gase’s awfulness. in a year or 2 we might be able to add darnold to this too making it a super flex possibly drafted team (darnold made what if mahomes did it the entire league would be raving about it throw last week under duress too)
QB tannehill (yep, the data on this continues good)
RB: drake (oh yeah, possibly the MVP of this), l.miller (had 2 useful years at HOU when allowed to get carries while healthy, not at MIA with gase though)
WR: parker (last year and even while not healthy yet this year, yep), r.anderson (our newest member, and it didn’t take long getting away from gase)

others that’ll probably get added to this within 2 or so years or whenever NYJ themselves decide to become part of these all stars: mims, l.bell (outside shot since age and he might not count since he was already a superstar BEFORE gase), perine, perriman (probably can’t count since he broke out at TB last year pre-gase), darnold

herdon could be added to the “others” group too

This has to be Gase’s last year ever as a head coach. Nobody’s dumb enough to fall for again.

we’d have said that same thing after MIA though (inertia takes a while to change, like that seinfeld relationships ending line about it’s like rocking over a soda machine, it takes a few pushes to tip it all the way)

Aaron Jones or Josh Jacobs ROS? Jacobs seems like such a huge part of that offense.

Jacobs for me. I think his workload is about as safe as it gets.

      No problem!

Christian Kirk is ranked better than Isabella. But Kirk is out and Isabella is the deep speed this week.
