And thus, we now closing down the rankings portion of the preseason. Sorta. (Don’t worry, the rankings will be updated whenever news or personal urge demands it.) In regards to the standard and PPR rankings, yes, we’re done, but unlike past years, I’ll be also doing position by position rankings for Half-PPR leagues starting today with the Top-200 Overall. It’s been a long and enduring process in whole, sure, but one that didn’t involve any Ryan Mathews or Melvin Gordon drama (WHEW!), so I proclaim this a resounding success. And just as long as we are busy consuming all this information, can we at least try to make an edible version of these rankings? With bacon? Bacon rankings brah, think about it… Anyhow, I prefer the Half-PPR format the most, and reflect this opinion in our yearly RCL leagues. I just feel the format balances the best of two worlds, much like your mom’s shirt. Wow. That was a next level “yo momma” right there. I know, I know… we only give you the best here at Razzball. The best! Let’s just wrap this up and go to the final installment of the Overall 2016 Rankings… (with our position Half-PPR Rankings to be released this week!)

Hey, Jay. Do you like Lamar Miller or Jamaal Charles better this season? Thanks!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Jerry: The easy answer is Miller as the rankings reflect, but the question is great because it allows me to mention that in most leagues, I’m probably taking the risk on Charles. I normally go safe in the early rounds, but it’s enticing to think that Charles at this price could be steal if we’re lucky enough to see 14 games plus from him. Miller, at least here, is ranked ahead simply because of the level of risk.

  2. Dorian S. says:

Hey Jay, if I’ve got a shot at Paul Perkins, Tevin Coleman or DeAndre Washington, who do you think I should grab as my back up RB to Zeke and Gurley? All three won’t start, but I think they’ll probably be good enough options eventually.

    Thanks as always!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Dorian S.: I like Perkins here, but Coleman is close.

  3. Steve says:
    (link)

Been playing half PPR since I started fantasy football. Only let down of it all is not many sites cover it in terms of rankings and such. Pumped that you guys have it here this year.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

Yeah, we usually had the overall rankings, but never position by position ones, so I hope they are useful. Thanks!

  4. Connor says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, I’m playing in a keep forever half ppr league and need to choose a final keeper. There is no penalty for any keeper right now I’m keeping Julio and David Johnson. I’m down to choosing between Cam, TY Hilton or Demaryius. Thanks man!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@Connor: There’s an argument for Hilton here, but I think you have to with Cam. No probs!

  5. Steven Pomponio says:
    (link)

Hey Jay, so nice to see half PPR rankings! Excitement aside I’m going nuts deciding what/ who should be my first pick this year. I am in a 14 person league and got the 10th pick. I’m realistic enough to know OBJ, Jones, Gurley etc. will be scooped up. I ASSUME the following will be available: Gronk, A.J Green, Hopkins, Miller, and Allen Robinson. Of those who would you pick first as well as would it be a bad idea if I go WR/WR first and second rounds? Thanks man!

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

I like WR/WR in this format, and I’m probably leaning Hopkins or Robinson there. Gronk is actually who I went with in our mock, but I’m on the fence with that choice.

    1year. 2yr. 3yr. 4yr
Todd gurly. 27$ – I cant sign him yet
    Antonio brown. 44$ 53$ 58$ 63$
B marshall. 31$ cant sign him yet
    Jeremy hill. 6$ 15$ 20$ 25$
Devante parker. 6$ cant sign him yet
Michael floyd. 17$ cant sign him yet
who should I keep as a third keeper. I am keeping gurly and brown. and how long do you think I should sign brown for. This is a 14 team league and could be a 16 team league if others end up joining.

    • ganggreenn says:
      (link)

@ganggreenndo you think it would be better to sign hill for 3 or 4 years at 20$ , 25$ or keep marshall for a year and sign him for an extra 1$ next year too. He isnt worth 25$ really this year but what will he be for the next 4 or 5 years in the stat column . I almost want to sign jeremy hill to five years 30$ I think he ill be great if he was the everydown back. He has been stinking it up the last couple seasons. I need help with this decision. Then I look and see devante parker, michael floyd, and im like they are all good keepers.

  7. ganggreenn says:
    (link)

I have antonio brown should I sign him to 4 yrs 63$ or three years 58$
I have brandon marshall for 31$ and todd gurly for 27$, both just for one year although I will be signing tod gurly eventually. What do you think about my keeper for half ppr 14 teams.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ganggreenn: I’d do three years, it’s about the right interval I use in all my keeps.

      • ganggreenn says:
        (link)

@Jay: somebody has odell for one dollar this year. Julio jones went for 63$ last year. Does this info change anything.
Should ikeep hill or marshall. Marshall is 30$ and I can sign him next year. Hill is 24$ for 4 years or subtract 5$ and make it 3 years. Would you keep marshall or sign hill. I am already keeping antonio brown 58$ and todd gurly 26$.

        • Jay

          Jay says:
          (link)

@ganggreenn: Not much. I think it might be a personal thing, but I just prefer three year increments. I might do that Hill one for three years.

  8. ganggreenn says:
    (link)

It is a 200$ starting budget. If I sign brown to 4 years 63$ and todd gurly who I will sign next year for 45$ 4years. Thats 108$ from my draft account for the next 3 years. I can keep a third player. Somebody in my league owns odell for 1$. Do I have two great keepers in brown and gurley. Knowing I will sign gurley next year should I sign brown still. I can only have 3 keepers every season.

    • ganggreenn says:
      (link)

@ganggreenn: this is a 14 team league aad these are examples of teams keepers.
      Odell 3$ not yet signed
      Hopkins 26$ for 4 years
      Hyde 12$ not signed yet
      L bell 49$ 3 year.
      My keepers are
      Antonio brown (63$ to 4yrs)
      Gurly (26$ not signed yet)
      B marshall (30$ not signed yet )

Question A: Is this good or still you say 3 year 58$ for brown.
My other options for keepers which ends tonite is
      Jeremy hill ( 6$ 1yr, 15$ 2yr, 20$ 3yr, 25$ 4yr)
Michael floyd( 17$ cant sign yet)
Devante parker (6$ cant sign yet)
Derek carr (6$ cant sign yet)
      Cristine michael (5$ )
Question B : should I stay with brown , marshall, and gurley over these keepers.

      • Jay

        Jay says:
        (link)

@ganggreenn: Yeah, look, I know it’d be nice to have cheaper options, but honestly, the prices you have Gurley at is still pretty amazing. Certainly sign him. And Brown, yeah, really expensive to keep, but like I said above, I don’t think he’d go cheaper on the market. You are basically securing the best fantasy producer the next few years. I’d do it.

    • Jay

      Jay says:
      (link)

@ganggreenn: For some reason, I just got an email dump on these comments, sorry for the tardiness. I think you have some great keepers, but expensive ones. Brown I think you have to keep, since that’s probably around the price he’d go anyhow.
