In the first edition of the preseason fantasy football top 150 rankings, a lot of the top 150 is going to favor “what have you done for me lately.” This is mostly because I need more time to do a detailed analysis, and most of the off-season moves haven’t happened yet.

The good news is most of the coaching vacancies have been filled, and in this article, we are going to review how some of those changes will impact my rankings over the next few months.

After we get through the coaching changes, we will then turn to NFL free agency and break down how some of the key free agents will impact my rankings!

Finally, once we get through the NFL draft and see where the top prospects land, we will get a better understanding of who will be on the rosters and how it will impact the 2024 season. All that being said, it’s going to be a fun off-season, so thanks for being a part of the journey with me.

The Impact of NFL Coaching Changes

  • Player: Drake London
  • Team: Atlanta Falcons
  • Overall Ranking: 84 (ECR 57)

The introduction of Zac Robinson as OC should vault Drake London up draft boards in 2023. The Rams style scheme features 11 personnel, so London should be featured more. As long as they get competent QB play, he should be a value in 2024.

  • Player: DeVonta Smith
  • Team: Philadelphia Eagles
  • Overall Ranking: 68 (ECR 48)

With Kellen Moore in town, it will be interesting to see if he decides to move A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith inside to match the Ceedee Lamb/Keenan Allen. My early favorite would be Smith, who thrived when playing in the slot in 2023. If Smith is utilized more on the inside, his PPR value will skyrocket in 2024.

  • Player: Tyjae Spears
  • Team: Tennessee Titans
  • Overall Ranking: 87 (ECR 65)

New Head Coach Brian Callahan will have a lot of decisions to make this off-season with his skill position group. The player with the most to gain is Tyjae Spears. With Derrick Henry a free agent, and Callahan’s history with using bell cow running backs, Spears could be in for a big role if he survives free agency and the draft as the RB1.

  • Player: Keenan Allen
  • Team: Los Angeles Chargers
  • Overall Ranking: 15 (ECR 20)

New year, a new scheme for Keenan Allen with Jim Harbaugh coming in, but before we panic, let’s look at how Harbaugh impacted the 49ers. In 2013 and 2014, 33-year-old Anquan Boldin thrived in this offense. In back-to-back seasons, he finished as a Top 18 WR on a team that was bottom five in pass attempts.

With Justin Herbert throwing the rock, we should expect this team to be much closer to the league average, making Allen a WR1 option again in 2024.

  • Player: Chris Olave
  • Team: New Orleans Saints
  • Overall Ranking: 43 (ECR 33)

New Offensive Coordinator (OC) Klint Kubiak should be a welcome addition for Chris Olave in 2024. In his lone season as OC for the Vikings back in 2021, Kubiak fed Justin Jefferson on his way to 167 targets, good for the 4th most in the NFL that season.

The Kubiak family has a long history of featuring a number one that dates to Rod Smith in Denver and Andre Johnson in Houston. If Olave can get over 150 targets, he could be on the WR1 map in 2024.
