Now that we’re done going through the Front Sevens, it’s time for the annual crapshoot of ranking Defensive Backs. Sure, guys like Harrison Smith and Eric Weddle are good bets to produce, but 2013’s consensus DB1, Morgan Burnett, barely made the top 20 DBs for the season last year. Injuries, role changes, and wild performance shifts all play more of a role for D-Backs than for any other fantasy football position outside of kickers. When these recaps started, Sky was still running the show, Nick Capozzi was still in Canada, and Jay and I had never met (Note: We still have not met). Things have changed in the IDP world as well. Some of these guys are already on different teams, and others have seen their teams go out and sign players who will potentially replace them in 2014. Such is life for DBs in IDP leagues.

These recaps will focus mostly on how each player landed in the top-20 last year, and whether or not they can do it again in 2014. Spoiler alert: a lot of them can’t.

You down with IDP? The fantasy team defense is dead. Not quite as poignant as Nas’s take on Hip Hop, but if you dare to venture for a more organic form of fake pigskin explore picking defensive players individually. Odds are if you’re reading this you’re either already in an IDP league or at least […]

Most who follow Matt Schauf of RapidDraft.com on Twitter seethe at each “IDP” tag and wonder how he can make light of internally displaced persons. In this case, however, we’re talking individual defensive players, who add realism to your fake football leagues and gripes for the whiny leaguemate who always finishes last anyway. Schauf will […]
