So imagine you’re in an exclusive night club; you’ve got shorties around you in all direction, and it’s about as good as living can get – rivaling how Nick will feel if David Wilson has a breakout season.

Now imagine everyone wants in this same nightclub, but are waiting outside.  Sure you got a few shorties to spare, but they ain’t goin’ nowhere!  Thanks random italicized rapper!  Yeah – take that Grey – mine’s an artist.  So you have two options of keeping these scrubs out that wanna take all your shorties (aka fun).  First option is a bouncer who asks for a password.  And hey, the password can get shared around, that’s fine, at least all your attention can be on the shorties.  Or the second option is every single one trying to get in can fill up the club’s occupancy as soon as they show.  To quote the immortal Tobias Funke, “it’s asses to ankles in here!”  Trust me – this is going somewhere down the road…

For a second straight year we’re RCL-battling in Yahoo, but we’re tweaking the league formats like a Sr. Bluth through a prison fence. But don’t worry, we’ve got a cheat sheet below if you don’t like reading.

Once you’ve clicked that Yahoo link (or this link if scrolling up isn’t for you) here’s the alterations you’ll need to make:  We’re hopping it up to 12-team leagues (Commish Tools – Edit League Settings – top option) and while you’re there set your league public (Commish Tools – Edit league Settings – the last option under “League Settings”) then with the lineup QB, 3WR, 2RB, TE, FLEX (W/R/T), DEF, K and 6 Bench and we goin’ PPR on yas.  To set the FLEX it’s Commish Tools – Edit Roster Positions – “Wide Receiver/Running Back/Tight End (W/R/T):” – and make it “1”.  To make the league PPR it’s Commish Tools – Edit Stat Categories – Under “Receiving” check Receptions = 1 Point.  It’ll be Head-to-Head with standard snake drafts, aka Benjamin Franklin’s versions 1 through 10 of Join, or Die.  Speaking of, did I give you my ultimatum for setting up an RCL yet?

Then the fun part… As alluded to above, Yahoo has done away with passwords for their fantasy leagues.  Cue the headaches.  So instead of focusing on my shorties all night, every scrub can come in whenever.  Yes, we could’ve moved to ESPN, but we’re sticking with Yahoo.  The only way to have the league publicly joinable sans e-mails is to join through a link without any password protection.  But since we’ve used the same password for every league, it’s not too big a deal.  Just Yahoo pulling an Obama “Change” on us.  Once you’ve made your league tweaks, add your league info into the Spreadsheet (you have to go through that link, the spreadsheet in the post isn’t directly editable).  To find the link to put on the Spreadsheet so RCLers can join, go to Commish Tools – Invite Friends – (scroll to the bottom) Or Send a Link.  Copy and paste that in that far right cell in the Spreadsheet as it’s laid out.  (Note – if you restart a league from last year, this link IS NOT there.  You’ll have to be e-mailed by other RCLers and then invite them.  So it may be easier to start fresh unless you have almost all owners returning.)

As with last season, there will be a winner of every league but ONE overall winner to rule them all.  Using something called “numbers” – and then some sort of integration into this wild theory of a “formula” – Rudy calculates a league competitiveness factor to crown the 2013 RCL champion settling ties.  Last year’s champion Moffitt Drivers will be hoping to make it two in a row, but them there lots of Razzballers to take down!  We’re running the same prize as last year, the infinitely awesome RCL 2012 Champion jump suit.  On the front will be your team name, then your winning schedule on your back.  If you’re unsure what team name you want to sport on your winning gear, try out our Razzball Fantasy Team Name Generator.  Here’s a tip – making your team name your last name followed by “Divers” has worked 100% of the time in the past 1 season(s).

If you have any questions – shoot them below or if you really need me –  e-mail me at jb at razzball dot com.  I guess Sky got nervous putting his e-mail on there last year, so I’ll be all shady and underground too.  Here’s the cheat sheet for RCL creating/joining:

TO CREATE A LEAGE

  • Create a league with your desired team name in Yahoo
  • Make it 12-team (Commish Tools – Edit League Settings – top option)
  • Make it Public (Commish Tools – Edit league Settings – the last option under “League Settings”)
  • Add a W/R/T FLEX (Commish Tools – Edit Roster Positions – “Wide Receiver/Running Back/Tight End (W/R/T):” – and make it “1”)
  • Make it PPR (Commish Tools – Edit Stat Categories – Under “Receiving” check Receptions = 1 Point)
  • Add the league info into the Spreadsheet.  Be sure to add the correct link (Commish Tools – Invite Friends – (scroll to the bottom) Or Send a Link)
  • Update the spreadsheet as you fill up and when you’re full.

TO JOIN A LEAGUE

  • Click the link of the league you’d like to join.  That’s it!  (If it’s a restart league, you’ll have to e-mail the commish and ask for an invite)

I went ahead and started the first RCL league, because – well I wanted to and could.  Boom ya lollygaggers!  Please note the early draft time in league JB’s Random Commenter League (original – I know), and if you’re one of my lucky contestants but soon to be defeated leaguemates, I’ll be doing a draft recap with thoughts on my team and it’s fit within the RCL biosphere.

So join one, join all, join now!  Or… well you get it.
