Week 13:

The Writer VinWins (6-6) vs Smokin’ a Bowe (7-5) I won last week despite a total of 2.7 points from my wide receivers. Definitely will need a better showing to secure a playoff spot. Matthew Stafford and the St. Louis defense were my big scorers. Smokin’ a Bowe will be looking for a big win to grab a first round bye after losing to The Bridgeburners. Benjarvus Green-Ellis had a 20-point effort, but Matt Forte managed only 3.6. Forecast: Smokin’ 106 VW 100.

Sky (6-6) vs The Bridgeburners (7-5) Sky won last week with just 96 points. Ray Rice and Julio Jones put up nearly half of that total, while Chaz Schilens and Darrius Heyward-Bey managed 1.8 between them. The Bridgeburners took a tough one from Smokin’ a Bowe with Andre Johnson leading the way. Look for them to continue their rebound and challenge for a first round bye. Forecast: BB 120 Sky 105.

Multiple Scorgasms (5-7) vs Reign Maker$ (8-4) The Scorgasms were the lowest scoring team last week, and will now have to knock off the highest scoring team for a shot at the 6th and final playoff spot. Their three running backs (Hillman, Sproles, Dwyer) totaled only 12.7 points so much improvement will be needed there. Tony Romo’s 30 points and Calvin Johnson’s 24 helped Reign Maker$ become the favorite for one of the top 2 spots. A win would clinch first place, but a loss could leave them in a tight points scored battle. Forecast: RM$ 140 MS 105.

The Iron Throne (7-5) vs Suck My Left TD (6-6)  The Iron Throne (7-5) took a tough loss last week despite scoring the third most points in the league. Big efforts from Arian Foster (26.2), the New England defense (25), and Cecil Shorts (18.5) weren’t enough to overcome Josh Freeman’s 10 points from the QB spot and LaRod Stephens-Howling’s 0.1 total. Perhaps Ben Roethlisberger will return this week and improve the QB numbers. Jaywrong had a nice game from Trent Richardson (19.2), but finished with the second lowest total of the week. With a playoff spot on the line, he’ll need Rivers, Lynch, Gates, and Fitzgerald to pick up the pace. Forecast: Iron Throne 115 My Left TD 105.

Podcast Kings (4-8) vs He Hate Me (7-5) The Kings were spoilers last week, stopping JB from getting to .500 behind a 30-point outing from Robert Griffin III. He Hate Me overcame a 68-point deficit Monday night to knock off The Iron Throne and stay in contention for one of the coveted byes. Cam Newton (37.44), Bryce Brown (28.9), and Greg Olsen (7.0) scored enough to put them up by 5. Dez Bryant also contributed 29 points. Forecast: HHM 120 PK 99.

Team Krump (4-8) vs JB Gilpin (5-7) Team Krump scored 124 last week, with Tom Brady and the Cleveland defense leading the way. Another game like that could end JB’s playoff hopes. JB needs a win and losses from the three 6-6 teams to keep his season alive. Last week he lost by 3 as Aaron Rodgers had a sub-par game. I expect an improved effort from Rodgers and Roddy White will put JB in the playoffs with a record below .500. Forecast: JB 112 TK 111.
