Quarterbacks
- Player: Josh Allen
- Game: vs. Buccaneers
- Stats: 19-30, 317 passing yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs with 40 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs
Allen and the Bills were out on a mission to respond after their bad defeat to the Dolphins. Allen responded by posting six TDs in a game for the second time in his career when he did so in Week 14 at the Rams in 2024. He’s the only QB in NFL history with three passing TDs and three rushing TDs in a single game. The last QB to tally six TDs was Tua
Notables:
If you read my Slot vs Wide article for Week 11, I mentioned how well Bryce Young played against the Falcons in Week 18. Young did it again in Week 11, finishing as the QB2 with a career-high 448 passing yards and another three TDs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Young will look to build off his career game at San Francisco in Week 12, which allowed another QB to toss over 400 yards.
Jacoby Brissett threw a career-high 452 yards at home against the Niners without top WR Marvin Harrison Jr. His 47 completed passes became a new NFL regular-season record. The game script played a big role in his performance, but Brissett has thrown two TDs in five straight contests since Week 6. Over that span, Brissett is the QB4. As fate would have it, Brissett will face the Bucs in Week 12.
We welcomed a familiar face with the return of Brock Purdy, who tossed three TDs against the Cardinals 27th 27th-ranked defense to QBs. In just his third game of the season, his first since Week 4, Purdy has thrown at least two TDs and 200+ yards in all three. He’ll get the Panthers, who limited Michael Penix and Kirk Cousins to under 225 yards and zero scores.
Box Nix outlasted Patrick Mahomes in a dramatic win for the Broncos. Neither was beneficial from a fantasy perspective, as Mahomes scored the only QB TD.
Mason Rudolph filled in for the Steelers after Aaron Rodgers sustained a left wrist injury. It’s presumed Rudolph would step in as the starter should Rodgers be unavailable in Week 12 against the Bears in Chicago. I doubt he’ll miss the chance to beat the Bears one last time. For those keeping count, he is 25–5 all-time against Chicago.
Jameis Winston got the spot started against the Packers, failing to throw a passing TD with 201 yards, but scored a rushing TD. Jaxson Dart should return following his concussion at Detroit, who limited Jalen Hurts to 135 passing yards.
Shedeur Sanders should be in line to make his first NFL start at Vegas in Week 12. After his second-half performance, he’s best left on your bench even in the deepest of Superflex leagues.
Running Backs
- Player: Sean Tucker
- Game: at Buffalo
- Stats: 19 carries, 106 rushing yards, 2 rushing TDs, 2 receptions for 34 yards, and 1 receiving TD
Tucker only played 44% of snaps for the Bucs, but he made each snap and touch count against the Bills, who allow the sixth-most points to RBs. Rachaad White was involved with 12 touches totaling 61 yards but failed to score. Bucky Irving is nearing a return, so we missed his best game of the season. Tucker had a similar outing last season, scoring two TDs with 180 scrimmage yards, but was a non-factor for the rest of the season. Makes me wonder if history will repeat itself once Irving returns. The Rams and their 31st-ranked RB defense are next for TB, so you’re not likely to start Tucker with confidence anyhow.
Notables:
Christian McCaffrey didn’t skip a beat with Purdy back as the signal caller, scoring three total TDs, two rushing and one receiving. CMC has two top-five and one top-10 finish in three games with Purdy under center with SF. McCaffrey gets to face the Panthers, who allowed a top-five RB finish in Week 11, for the first time since joining the Niners in 2022.
Bijan Robinson carried the ball a season-high 23 times en route to his third game rushing over the century mark this season. In two games against Carolina, Robinson totaled over 100 yards. Tyler Allgeier vultured a TD. Robinson and presumably Allgeier will be relied on more in Week 12 in New Orleans should Penix and London miss time.
De’Von Achane gets a well-deserved bye after consecutive games over 100 yards for the first time this season. Achane also has a streak of four games, securing at least five passes. I would lower expectations following his bye week, as the Fins had one of the softest four-game stretches. All four teams ranked within the eighth-most advantageous to RBs.
With the return of Lamar Jackson in Week 9, Derrick Henry has returned to RB1 territory as the RB12 from Week 9 to Week 11. The Jets are next for Henry after NY allowed rookie TreVeyon Henderson to score three TDs and compile 100+ scrimmage yards on TNF.
Kenneth Gainwell took advantage of Jaylen Warren’s ankle injury, recording 105 total yards and two receiving TDs. If Warren were to miss time, I’d expect Kaleb Johnson to get some burn, as Arthur Smith doesn’t care about our fantasy football teams.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. (23 touches, 139 scrimmage yards) and Devin Singletary (17 touches, two TDs) split snaps equally despite Tracy operating as the lead back. I would be cautious with expectations against the Lions’ 31st-ranked defense against RBs in Week 12.
Bhayshul Tuten was having himself a day, compiling 74 yards on 14 carries with one TD before leaving with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter. Travis Etienne Jr. was sharing snaps with Tuten throughout the game, however he recorded two TDs. Etienne is having great season thus far based on expectations, but I think we’re looking at a future timeshare in Jacksonville.
Rookies RJ Harvey (14 touches, 50 total yards) and Woody Marks (19 touches, 51 yards) saw their roles expand but left us wanting more. Better days are ahead based on their usage. Houston has a favorable matchup against Buffalo in Week 12, while Denver faces Washington in Week 13.
Emanuel Wilson replaced Josh Jacobs after leaving the game with a knee injury. The Packers’ next four matchups are not favorable for RBs. I’ll let Sir Stiles discuss Emanuel Wilson’s waiver appeal.
Wide Receivers
- Player: Tetairoa McMillan
- Game: at Atlanta
- Stats: 8 receptions, 130 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns on 12 targets
This Panther put up a formidable performance that could be illegal in nine countries. His QB likes to play in Atlanta, and McMillan reaped the benefits, doubling up his TD count on the season from 12 and seven yards out. This was the boom game many were hoping for. McMillan’s Week 12 contest against SF should be favorable after Michael Wilson’s performance.
Notables:
Wilson had a career day, going 15-185 against the 49ers. It should be noted, his 185 yards were the most yards by any pass-catcher this season. This performance should garner him increased opportunities following Harrison’s return. Hope you were able to take advantage of Wilson’s career game. (He was mentioned in my Slot vs Wide article.)
Nico Collins is enjoying his chemistry with Davis Mills. He’s the QB2 over the last two weeks with Mills under center. The Texans host Buffalo on TNF, so time will tell if CJ Stroud clears concussion protocol. Is it weird to say that if he does return, it may be detriminal to Collins’ fantasy value?
We’re officially in the Jaxon Smith-Njigba era of fantasy. He’s scored a TD or eclipsed 100 receiving yards in 9 of 10 games this season. Imagine what JSN can do against Tennessee in Week 12 after Collins’ performance with a backup QB.
Drake London may have avoided a serious knee injury, but we’ll see how much time he’ll miss. Between him and Penix, the Falcons offense might be in bad shape.
Christian Watson continues to be boom or bust, securing his two TDs of the season. His role within the offense should expand if Jacobs were to miss time.
This may be a minor revelation, but Luther Burden III played more snaps than Olamide Zaccheaus. He finished with five targets, second most behind Rome Odunze. He’s a WR to monitor.
Justin Jefferson is averaging 11.8 PPR points in three games from Week 9 through Week 11 with J.J. McCarthy. The J.J. to Jetta connection just hasn’t been there, but they have the fourth-best strength of schedule, so there’s hope they can turn it around.
The Titans’ WR core is in disarray, and their upcoming schedule doesn’t do them any favors. Elic Ayomanor is the de facto number one WR with Calvin Ridley out for the rest of the season.
Tight End
- Player: Trey McBride
- Game: vs. 49ers
- Stats: 10 receptions, 115 yards, 1 touchdown on 11 targets
The McRib and Brisket combo is a delight to the fantasy community. McBride has a TD in five straight games with Brissett under center. He’s the fourth-highest scoring player among RBs, WRs, and TEs since the QB change in the desert. His upcoming matchup against Jacksonville, which allows the second-most points to TEs, could be another monster week for the best TE in football.
Notables:
George Kittle enjoyed the return of his old pal back into the starting lineup, hauling in two TDs. Since his return from injury, Kittle has four TDs over five weeks, good for TE5. Carolina is next for Kittle, which gives up the seventh-most points to TEs.
Travis Kelce posted his best performance of the season with a line of 9-91-1. Kelce has quietly posted double-digit fantasy outputs in five of his last six games. He’ll look for his fifth TD of the season against the Colts, who permit the sixth most points to TEs.
Mark Andrews scored a 35-yard rushing TD off a fake tush-push. Andrews is up to six TDs on the season with three in his last three games. Andrews and Isaiah Likely have one of the best end-of-season schedules among TEs.
AJ Barner tallied 70 receiving yards for the second time this season, while securing a season-high 10 catches. He’ll have a less-than-ideal spot against the Titans in Week 12, but they allowed Dalton Schultz to surpass 50 receiving yards.
Shultz recorded his third consecutive game over 50 yards and now has 19 receptions on 28 targets during that span. He’ll face Buffalo in Week 12. The Bills are limiting TEs to 27 yards per game this season.
