Even though I’m not one to pat myself on the back (actually, I am), Razzball has been on an upward curve, bringing some sort of conglomerate synergistic metamorphosis (as they say in the corporate world), providing you an ever-improving ranking accuracy year after year. How do we do it? No clue. It could be dark wizardry. It could be indigestion. It could even be your mother. But I have to admit, this year is going to be daunting, if only because the expectations we’ve placed on ourselves here at Razzball Football are at an all time high (just like my college years). Going from 31st overall to 22nd in Weekly Fantasy Football accuracy is one thing. But going from 22nd to the top-10 in the entire nation last season is quite another. And then on top of that, to finish third overall in our Draft Rankings last year… well, it’d be folly to try and say “Yes, we’re going to try even more, (more better if you believe in remedial English)”, but yeah, I’m going to say it… We’re going to do more better. (My English teacher just placed a bounty on me.) With that said, and my parentheses key broken, here are your 2017 Fantasy Football Kicker Rankings

My apologies for the quick and short and sudden intro, but I have hit a “creative writer’s block” when it comes to the intro for the week. Alas, I do not have any stories to tell and rapidly tie back to fantasy football. Hopefully it works for next week.

So let’s just jump right into it, cool? Alright.

Alright, we get it. Everyone is going to win this week because everyone’s lucky number is 13. Enough! Something very interesting happened Monday Night on DraftKings last week. Something that defines how Fantasy Football is such a fickle mistress. The setting? DraftKings’ $600k Blitz. Per RotoGrinders.com-

This one came down to the very last play. “GregieC03” was sitting pretty and looking as if he would lock up the six-figure payday if Cleveland could make the game-winning field goal. Instead, the Ravens blocked the kick and returned it for a TD which catapulted underjones from out of the top five into the lead by the slimmest (.20) of margins. “Underjones” would also take fourth place and win a live final seat to cap off a great weekend for him.

Final Standings:

1. underjones 217.84, $100,000
2. GregieC03 217.64, $50,000
3. FitnessKING613 214.34, $25,000
4. underjones 212.4, $15,000
5. Josh677 211.5, $10,000

At this point you have to laugh and just settle for $50k. I know, what a settle.

Week 12 was a bad week for the chalk WR’s. Players such as Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, and Antonio Brown all scored below 10 points, which absolutely destroyed a ton of people’s tournament lineups, as D-Hop was owned by 52.9% owned in Fanduel’s Week 13 Sunday Million. Let’s review the rest of Week 12….

Ryan Mallett always seemed like a jerk.  No, not Greg Hardy-level jerk.  He’s just plain scum.  But Mallett didn’t seem to care or get it at all, even dating back to college.  Watching Hard Knocks showed his personality even more, making it easy to root against him.  When he showed up late during the show, you gave him the benefit of the doubt.  But when he missed the team flight last weekend, he deserved to get canned, and canned he got.

The quarterback rotation that overrated Bill O’Brien implemented early on is no more, as it’s Brian Hoyer’s job going forward.  He’s not a real life good quarterback, but we only care about the results here in fantasy world.  Consider him a bye-week replacement or one of your streamers going forward.

To be honest, Florida kinda sucks.  Not the state of course… just the football teams.  [Jay’s Note: Oh, I can make plenty of cases for the state sucking.]  And not even all of them… more like two of them, specifically… I mean, yeah, the Jags roughed up the Browns a bit last week, but say that out loud one more time and let me know if you feel any more validated as a Jaguars fan? Didn’t think so. Tampa Bay? They got two solid wins against former powerhouses, but does knowing what we know now about the Steelers and Saints make those wins lose a little luster? Don’t get me wrong, a win is a win, but then again, it’s really not.  Miami is, by far, the best team coming out of the state, and they’re the real deal (for real!).  They’re two parts sexy defense, and one part boring-but-game-managing offense.  I’m totally picking on the northern Florida teams this week.

This week’s injury report is brought to you by hurt hamstrings. These seem to be all the rage around the league right now and make up a majority of the injuries we’re seeing on this week’s report. The good news is that once old Doc here can figure out how to heal them, a lot of players should be coming back.

Hamstrings are the muscles in the back of the leg that help allow you to bend your knee. Imagine yourself trying to kick a football but you couldn’t bend your leg. That would be what life is like with a hamstring injury. Kicking is tough, running is hard and slow and they don’t seem to heal quickly for anything.

Let’s take a look at who is all on the training table this week. All injuries are hamstring unless noted otherwise.

After a short hiatus, the doctor is back. I’ve spent a bunch of time cuddling and loving with my new little boy. He’s 2 1/2 weeks old and all kinds of adorable. But enough about him. Let’s talk about Quintorris. Who the heck is that? Quintorris? And why does he have a screw loose? Quintorris […]

Yup, I just did that. I just pushed out kicker rankings and dropped a post the same day talking bad about them. Actually, I talked bad about them within their own rankings. I’m cruel like that. It’s like if they asked me to be a judge of a Miss America contest. I’d do my job appropriately but if anyone asked me what I thought of the contest itself, I’d laugh. Seriously, I wouldn’t say anything, I’d just bust up and wouldn’t be able to stop. I mean, it’s a contest that brought us Miss Utah. If that doesn’t tell you why not to care, then I’ll give you Miss Teen USA from South Carolina. Some people really don’t have maps. Even US Americans. But enough analogy, here’s me giving you a road map to a successful league set-up this year for 2013 Fantasy Football.

Ugh, why am I even doing this? I don’t know but I started something and I’m gonna end it right and the way it should end with me reviewing all of our 2012 fantasy football rankings and I’m not gonna let the boring topic of kickers impede that goal. There were quite a few surprises this year in the end of year kicker ranks. Of course, that last sentence requires that you care about kicker ranks and how things ended up. Some fan/fantasy favorites like SeaBass didn’t quite make it while a couple of young upstarts climbed their way into fantasy relevance. Or at least as relevant as you can get for being a kicker. To clear any confusion, we’re relying on yahoo’s end of season rankings for kickers in terms of review as we don’t yet have our own player rater but – spoilers! – are in the hopes we have one for the 2013 season. I know you just can’t wait to see how kickers line up in that! Alright, wordpress has informed me I’ve now cleared over 150 words about kickers for just an intro so lets get this over with. Here were your top 10 kickers for the 2012 fantasy football season…
