Since I get quite a few questions about defenses early in the week I thought I would put up a rudimentary fantasy defenses chart.  What we have here are the last 4-5 games and how many fantasy points and sacks each team has given up to the opposing defenses.  There were some other stats I was going to throw in there, but I thought I would keep it simple for now.  These stats aren’t foolproof by any means and don’t take into account week 9 statistics since they aren’t complete yet, but they can give us a framework for looking at next week’s matchups.

Going off this chart the Eagles, Giants, Vikings, Bucs, and Seattle have nice matchups this coming week and I don’t disagree with that.  They will all be prominently placed in the defense rankings later in the week.  So take a gander and see what you think.

  1. MJD Took A Knee says:

Is it worth it to offer SJax Torain Colston/Garcon for Chris Johnson? The owner is 3-6 and sometimes doesn’t change out is BYE players. I have had an offer sent already but it’s been a week and no response. Didn’t cancel it either. Also I think his team was autodrafted. Sorta hoping he has given up and just trades.

My other players are Hillis Charles Lynch / AJ VJax /

  2. ELaw says:

I have the Bucs and the Giants. I think Im rolling with Tampa. I think the Cowgirls might do better than expected this week. With the coaching change and a division foe…the players might be more motivated. No real stats or facts to support this. Just a gut feeling.

  3. Wilsonian says:

This a continuing question from the previous post…

You told me to drop Keller for A-Her, but Keller this week is up against CLE and A-Her will be up against PIT.

What do you think of dropping Blount to pick up A-Her for the coming weeks, hang on to Keller for this week and then drop him for VJax? Or would you just go ahead and drop Keller now for A-Her and then Blount for VJax?

I have Hillis, DMC, CJ, McCoy and Best ahead of Blount on the depth chart and I can only play 3, so Blount has become pretty expendable.

  4. Clyde Prompto says:

Howdy, Doc. Beanie and Shonn Greene were dropped in my league, who would you rather grab? I have visions of LT wearing down/getting injured and Greene pulling a Jamaal Charles circa last season.

  5. Nick says:

@Doc: Trade deadline is a few days away and I have Vick/Big Ben/McNabb & only can start 1 a week. Should I try and move Big Ben to a team that has Romo & Freeman (he is 3-5). I’d be looking to get a good RB and he has Peterson & LT. I would be able to offer him Big Ben and one of my RB’s. (McCoy-not trading, Blount, Torain, R. Brown, Greene)

Which RB should I make a move for and what RB should I look to pair w/ Big Ben?

  6. Nick says:

    @Doc: he’s a Miami fan as well…

  7. Black Beard says:

Thanks Doc. Are you leaning Vikings or Bucs next week?

  8. Mark says:

What’s your thoughts on Brandon Marshall? Good buy low candidate? He’s getting a ton of looks and on pace for 100+ receptions and 1200+ yards already. He has a much friendlier final 8 games. I think the Beast is gonna have a great 2nd half and start turning some of those receptions into touchdowns. Agree? Also, approximately what do you think would be a fair trade for him? Something like Blount and either Santana Moss or Welker?

  9. Doc

    Doc says:

    @Black Beard: Leaning Bucs

@Nick: I wouldn’t want LT. I’d try Ben/Blount/Torain for Ap, but he’ll say no, but go from there.

@Clyde Prompto: Yes, go for Greene.

@Wilsonian: If you think you can wait on VJax I’d rather keep Keller for this week.

    @ELaw: Sounds like a plan.

@MJD Took A Knee: I doubt he’s even checking his team.

  10. Doc

    Doc says:

@Mark: I do think BMarsh is a great buy low candidate. Since you are trying to buy low I think any of those work.

  11. Howard says:

Doc, I need a QB for the bye week: Cassel @ Denver, Young vs Miami, Gerrard vs Houston, Anderson vs Seattle?

  12. 24hourjack says:

    Aaron Rodgers on a bye this wk,so I need to p/u a QB……..

non PPR league, which QB should I grab, and which WR should I drop to do it?….

    QB’s available….Favre,Cassel,Freeman,Garrard

    drop Knox or Driver?

    thnks doc.

  13. Wilsonian says:

@Doc: how much of a difference do you think Keller would be over A-Her for the week?

I went ahead and dropped Blount for A-Her, but now I’m thinking about dropping Keller to pick up the Bucs for the week.

  14. The Vaporizers says:

Good morning Doc. In my most competitive league, my weakest position is my WR3, where I play Johny freakin Knox (or Eddie Royal. I also got Roddy and AJ). For RB I got Foster and McCoy with Bradshaw in flex. This is a 1 PPR league. A team that I am competing with for the last couple of playoff spots with has loads of top WR’s but crappy RB’s outside of Gore and Best. He put out a post that he wants to upgrade his RB by trading a top WR. I was thinking about offering Bradshaw for Nicks. This morning I see that he actually wants Bradshaw and offered me Calvin Johnson for Bradshaw. What would you do here? Who do you like most in a 1 PPR for the rest of the year? Megatron, Nicks or Bradshaw. Trading him Bradshaw would allow him to sit Best. Trading Bradshaw would lock up my top 3 WR’s slots and then I have an open flex that I can shove Knox, Royal, or Torrain, K Williams into. It would give me more options.

  15. The Vaporizers says:

Or I can trade McCoy for either of them as well. Do you still think McCoy is more valuable than Bradshaw in 1 PPR now that it looks like Bradshaw could be getting more goalline carries?

  16. Wilsonian says:

@Wilsonian: or I could just drop PIT and stream for the rest of the season. Their defensive injuries aren’t helping them much and they’re basically just putting up mediocre numbers when there are good streaming options available.

  17. Penguin says:

Who would you play this week in a WR3 spot? Sidney Rice (assuming he’s active) against CHI, Eddie Royal against KC, or MSW against HOU?

I’m leaning towards MSW since HOU’s secondary is so bad.

  18. Cheese

    Cheese says:

    Hey Doc,

I’ve got a tough decision to make on a trade in my salary based keeper league. All $ values are subject to a 30% increase if the player is kept. If not kept, they are thrown into the auction for next season. Below is my roster, with their current season keeper value and next season keeper values in brackets. This is a 16 team league with all TD = 6pts. The salary cap is $200.

    QB – Aaron Rodgers ($37, $48)
    WR – Andre Johnson ($36, $47)
    WR – Chad OchoCinco ($25, $33)
    WR – Bernard Berrian ($5, $7)
    RB – Maurice Jones-Drew ($35, $46)
    RB – Jamaal Charles ($16, $21)
    TE – Greg Olsen ($5, $7)
    W/R – Donald Brown ($8, $10)
    Q/W/R/T – Derek Anderson ($5, $7)
    BEN – Justin Forsett ($5, $7)
    BEN – Kenny Britt ($12, $16)
    BEN – Donald Driver ($5, $7)

I’ve been offered Joseph Addai ($25, $33), Knowshon Moreno ($22, $29), and Santana Moss ($9, $12) for MJD and Berrian. I have a solid chance to win it all this season, and still have a good foundation (Rodgers, Charles, Britt) for next season. What are your thoughts on the trade with relation to my teams current and future years?

  19. Howie Met Your Mother says:

Have Gostkowski, but do I bother wasting my #5 waiver priority for Bironas or do I just wait for everyone else to use their claims and pick up someone once they hit Free Agency, and then hopefully raise my waiver priorty for later in the season when I REALLY need someone?

  20. AdamH says:

Which combo do you want the rest of the way – 0.5 PPR:

    Cedric Benson/Calvin Johnson

    Ahmad Bradshaw/Dwayne Bowe

  21. Ethan Stein says:

I was offered Matt Forte for my Hakim Nicks. Which one has better value down the line for that W/R position?

  22. The Vaporizers says:

@ethan, I like Nicks more than Forte.

  23. Rookie Season says:

Well, Doc, It’s been an interesting season to say the least, especially with Romo going down. I am sitting in the 7th playoff spot out of 8 with 4 weeks left to play. Here’s the current roster:
    QB Sam Bradford
    WR Reggie Wayne
    WR Santonio Holmes
    RB Knowshon Moreno
    TE Vernon Davis
    W/R/T Brandon Jacobs
    BN LeGarrette Blount
    BN Joseph Addai
    BN Shaun Hill
    BN Jacoby Ford
    BN Nate Burleson
Trade deadline in 3 days. Should I be pushing for a trade to upgrade? I’d like to dump Addai somehow. I don’t like open-ended timelines. I can try to make a play for Peyton Manning (and possibly Ahmad Bradshaw) for Reggie Wayne (and someone else). Can Bradford and Hill carry the load instead? Or push for T.O. and Brandon Lloyd combo for Wayne and someone else. The guy wants to dump Forte, but I have bad vibes about his rest of the season. Seems like I can only get leverage with wayne. Any suggestions?

  24. Roger Lodge says:

    Hello Doc,

I own Malcom Floyd so I offered Dwayne Bowe and Marshawn Lynch for Vincent Jackson. He countered with Bowe and Ryan Torain for Vincent Jackson. So should I accept? It is a standard scoring 12 team league.

    Here’s my roster:
    QB Matt Ryan, Atl QB
    RB Adrian Peterson, Min RB
RB Jahvid Best, Det RB P
    RB/WR Dwayne Bowe, KC WR
WR Calvin Johnson, Det WR P
    WR Greg Jennings, GB WR
    TE Jacob Tamme, Ind TE
    D/ST Eagles D/ST, Phi D/ST
    K Dan Carpenter, Mia K
    Bench Ronnie Brown, Mia RB
Bench Vernon Davis, SF TE Q
Bench Malcom Floyd*, SD WR O
    Bench Marshawn Lynch, Sea RB
Bench Ryan Torain, Was RB Q
Bench Matthew Stafford, Det QB Q

  25. Wilsonian says:

@Roger Lodge: just to let you know, Best might be shut down for a couple weeks. That would leave you pretty thin at a lot of positions for this next week. Jennings is on BYE and so is VJax, then you would be forced to play either Ronnie Brown against the Titans or Lynch, who sucks, in my opinion. I don’t know why you would trade Bowe AND Torain for a rusty VJax. If I had VJax and was offered what you’re considering, I would do it in a heartbeat. Bad trade for you, man.

  26. Wilsonian says:

@Wilsonian: I also don’t understand how owning Floyd somehow parlays you into needing VJax. Floyd will still get his if and when he comes back healthy. They have quite possibly the best QB in the NFL not named Payton Manning. He throws TDs to any and everyone. Just look at his stats from last week without Gates, Floyd, VJax, Sha-Naanee, etc.

  27. Chris says:

I already have Torain and K Williams as a handcuff, but now I hear Portis is possibly coming back..I can’t roster all 3, who is the odd man out in that mess?

Seems like I should probably drop Williams, but in +1 PPR I think he can be very useful if given the opportunity… a better Brandon Jackson maybe.

  28. Rob says:

Doc last time I’ll bug you with this question about these two..
Who would you rather have until week 14?

Maurice Jones Drew- Cle, NYG, Ten, Oak
Jamaal Charles- Ari, Sea, Den, SD

13 and 14 are playoff weeks so they are very important!

  29. Black Beard says:

2TE league: Gates and B. Marshall for Nicks, Wayne, or Megatron?

  30. Roger Lodge says:

@Wilsonian Thanks again for the help… much appreciated. I merely re-posted this over here because I noticed that we’ve “moved on” from the last article and I wanted to know what Doc thought about my trade. You say that Floyd will get his when VJax comes back but will he? It’s not like he’s much of a post/underneath runner. He and VJax are the same WR in SD’s scheme. And this is all assuming that Floyd does come back healthy… You want to know why I’m so eager to move Torain/Bowe? It is simply because I can very easily envision a scenario where Torain and Floyd are worthless by week 13 and Bowe only moderately useful (yes he’s torn it up lately and he is no fluke but he hasn’t exactly been challenged by HOU or JAX either). When I say moderately useful, I think the truth about Bowe is that he’s a 5-6 target, 30-40 yard guy who sometimes finds paydirt. What is so great about Torain in a 3-way timeshare which seems inevitable barring a setback by Portis (and this is ignoring Torain’s injury problems)? The way I see it I’m essentially just upgrading Bowe to a fresh-legged VJax. Thanks again for your help throughout all this. By the way, I have discussed this with the other manager and he might be willing to allow me to keep Bowe/Torain this week and accept the trade this upcoming Saturday afternoon.

  31. Gambler says:

Right now I have the 3-headed monster of Ryan Matthews, Felix Jones, and J-Stew as my 3-5 RB’s.. (Blount is my RB2). Reggie Bush, McGahee, and Fred Jackson are available. I’m thinking of dropping J-Stew for Bush (who at the very worst could be good trade bait) and Felix Jones for Jackson. Would you do these moves?

  32. Roger Lodge says:

@Wilsonian Could you provide a link or briefly describe what you were talking about with Jahvid Best? I can’t seem to find any reports about the possibility of him being shut down for a few weeks. Thanks for the heads-up by the way.

  33. Wilsonian says:

@Roger Lodge: Hey, no problem. My reasoning behind thinking that Floyd will get his (assuming he comes back healthy) is because of his QB. Rivers has solidified himself (in my mind) as the best QB in the league who doesn’t play for Indy. He throws at least 2-3 TDs every week. Hell, look at last week with everyone and their brother hurt…Seyi and McMichael both hauled in two TDs. I look at Bowe a little better than you do. I don’t like Cassel, but he’s the kind of receiver that could blow up any minute…although if VJax is healthy and integrated into the scheme, he is as well.

My only thought on Torain is because, if he’s healthy (and he practiced at full speed yesterday), he’s most likely the starter. I don’t care what they say about Portis, he’s done one thing in his career, and it’s get hurt. I don’t see him sticking in the lineup much longer than Week 10.

And additionally, my main problem with the deal is what it does to you this week. You’re left with nothing at your flex position and possibly nothing besides AP at RB if Best is out. You’ll have to scrounge up some waiver wire fodder, and I don’t think you’ll find anything better than Torain and Bowe out there. But if you can do it next week instead, I can see possibly doing it then (after you see what Torain does this week, too).

The blurb I read on Best is from his Yahoo! notes. Take it with a grain of salt, but I never like hearing that, and it always has the possibility of being correct. It’s just something I would keep an eye on just in case.

  34. Charlie says:

Right now I’m starting (I know, stacked right?)

    RB – Steve Jackson
    RB – Jamaal Charles
    RB/WR – Jhavid Best
    WR – Hakeem Nicks
    WR – Roddy White

Would you trade Charles and Best for Chris Johnson, knowing that you’d have to go with a combo of Crabtree, Mike Williams (SEA), Ryan Matthews, and Steve Breaston at the flex?

  35. Nate says:

I love this table, Doc. I think it’d be extremely useful to have something like this every week.

  36. aj says:

farve or garrard the rest of the way

  37. Roger Lodge says:

David Garrard, Vince Young or Mark Sanchez?

  38. stumanji says:

@Roger Lodge: I commented on this trade in the previous post as well, and I think Wilsonian and I are of the same opinion. I think it’s a high risk-low reward trade. You’re really banking on Torain losing a lot value, Bowe losing a lot of value, and VJax turning into a WR1. IMO, I don’t really see all those things happening. Portis had basically lost his starting job before his injury, so there’s no reason to think that he’s going to be more than a 3rd down back after tearing his groin.

If you’re really set on trading the package of Torain and Bowe, maybe aim for a buy-low guy like Marshall.

  39. Bluety says:

I have Brees and Vick and my RB are Best, Tolbert, barber,Hart, K. Smith and Ricky. My WR are D. jax, Wayne, Dez, Evans and wes.

Would you trade Vick and Wes for Big Ben and Lynch? Please help

  40. Wilsonian says:

@stumanji: well said. That’s basically my take. I don’t see VJax being that much better than Bowe in the coming weeks. Plus, VJax can’t play until Week 12, so in trading Bowe you would be out a receiver for two weeks. I definitely agree that a lot is banking on Bowe and Torain not performing, and I think that has as much a shot as VJax leading the league in receiving for the last 4-5 weeks of the fantasy season.

  41. John K says:

Should I look to drop the Falcons D (I have the Eagles)

separately, as a backup qb would you take garrard, cassel, or hill the rest of the way?

  42. Goose says:

this week, Rodgers bye replacement, who would you grab:

    Fitzpatrick vs DET
    Garrard vs HOU
    Freeman @ CAR
    Bradford @ SF

  43. Jim Parkey says:

Garrard or Orton (for week 10 only)?

  44. Rob says:

All thoughts welcomed and appreciated for my question #28

  45. alvaro says:

What do you think of Tolbert and Mathews for Marshall

    I get Marshall

    Should I do it?

  46. Doc says:

Yo On my way home from cincy. Will get to your questions later tonight. Peace out

  47. stumanji says:

    @alvaro: Yes.

  48. alvaro says:

thanks, i thought so but always like second opinions

  49. Wilsonian says:

I’m going to be concise on my questions now since you have 8 billion questions to get to today. Multiple leagues in question here.

Have A-Her, drop Keller for the Bucs DEF to play over Pit DEF for the week? Drop Pit DEF for the Bucs DEF for the week and stream for the rest of the season (lots of good matchups in the FA pool for the rest of the year – did my homework)?

Who do you start this week (pick one): Cutler, Fitzpatrick, Garrard? Moreno, Torain, Blount?

Who do you start this week (pick three): Williams TB, Dez, Ward, Austin?

  50. Wilsonian says:

@Wilsonian: oh, and disregard my earlier questions…this is all of them in a nice gift wrapped post, just for clarity’s sake.

  51. DDT says:

Doc, I’m packaging Forte and Bowe for Mendenhall. Do you approve? Mendy would become my RB FLEX (I have Foster and AP) and I’d replace Bowe with Knox as my WR FLEX (I have Megatron and M.Williams–TB) until either Floyd or V-Jax returns.

  52. Roger Lodge says:

@Wilsonian: I would drop Keller if you feel that you really need to take TB out of the hands of your opponent this weekend but with PIT as your D I don’t think you ought to worry about defensive questions unless Palumalu gets injured; you’ve gotta go with Garrard in that juicy matchup vs HOU if it is a standard scoring league; TB M.Williams, H.Ward, and D.Bryant (unless the NYG make special mention of gameplanning against Dez). Thanks again for the help.

  53. Doc

    Doc says:

@DDT: If they’ll go for it, for sure.

@Wilsonian: I’d go ahead and drop Pitt and play matchups. Garrard, Blount, sit Austin

    @alvaro: I’d go for it

@Jim Parkey: This is a tough one. I’m leaning Orton, but I do like garrard this week.

    @Goose: Garrard

@John K: I’d lean Hill and go ahead and drop ATL

@Bluety: I would work at trading one of your QBs and another player for a better RB.

@Roger Lodge: This week Garrard for sure, but I wouldn’t want to rely on him.

    @aj: I’d go with Favre.

@Nate: Yeah, I hope to get to it each week.

    @Charlie: I would.

@Gambler: I could see grabbing Bush there. I’d keep Jones there.

@Black Beard: I’d want the Gates side

    @Rob: It’s close, but I’m leaning JC.

@Chris: I’d hold off on Portis for now.

@Roger Lodge: I think Bowe is a good sell high, but I’d rather go straight Bowe for VJax since you can’t have him for 2 weeks.

@Rookie Season: I don’t think you have enough depth to go after a big name like Manning. I would keep an eye on Hill’s progress and if it looks like he will start this week go from there. If not i would look to trade.

    @Ethan Stein: Stick with Nicks

    @AdamH: It’s close but I like Megatron.

@Howie Met Your Mother: For sure wait.

@Cheese: I like Moreno long term, but Moss and Addai are a little bluh. This one is really tough. For this year it’s tough because Addai is hurting. I’d say no.

@Penguin: I would lean that way unless we hear really good things about Rice.

    @Howard: Garrard

    @24hourjack: Garrard, drop Driver

@The Vaporizers: I still like McCoy more in PPR, but Bradshaw has gained value with goal line looks. I like CJ a lot, but I think Bradshaw is worth more in PPR as long as you can start him in the flex.

  54. Wilsonian says:

@Doc: to play Garrard I’d have to drop Fitzpatrick. So you like that move with Cutler as my starter? Thanks again for all the help.

  55. Anonymous says:

@anyone: How big of an idiot would I have to be to play Harvin and Rice next week (assuming he goes…)? My other option is Harvin and Hawk Williams. Or Brian Hartline? *shudders*

  56. MJD Took A Knee says:

Not worth using #4 on TB DEF? Also not sure if I should use BAL this week so I can use them @CAR next week. Probably best of the rest SEA KC ATL. Not much that gives me a thrill going up my leg.

  57. Black Beard says:

@Doc: Thanks Doc. Who would you sell first:

    Nicks, Wayne or Megatron?

And as the trade would likely have to include an RB (with one of the above WRs), please rank going forward:

    D. Brown, M. Lynch, Wells, or Greene?

    Thanks Doc.

  58. buge hoobs says:

    Hey Doc,

Who to start this week Schaub or Garrard?

  59. paulzone says:

I think crayton is done (with floyd, gates and vjax soon), drop him for washington or floyd? or neither and grab choice?

  60. paulzone says:

do you think matthews and pierre thomas are droppable for upside guys like choice, nate washington, etc?

  61. Damion says:

    Yo Doc,
Im going with 3 horses at RB: Mccoy, Rice, and Blount
At QB, Im going with Mr.Vick

Now Im stuck with who to start at WR: Need to choose between Bowe, Mike Williams, and Dwayne Bowe.???
Also Vianscho or Kellar at TE?

  62. Shippity says:

reposting TE bye week fill-in question to see if you have an early lean before rankings on Friday

    Olsen v Min
    Watson v NYJ
    Celek @ WAS
    Dreesen @ JAX
    Fasano v TEN
    Gronkow @ Pitt

  63. Nathan says:

Need help: Standard 12 man league. I currently have CJ2K and Foster at RB and Nicks and Wallace at WR. I have been offered McFadden and D-Jax for CJ2K. Do I take it? I am 2 games up in my division so McFadden’s bye week won’t hurt me too much if I accept the trade.

  64. Nathan says:

In response to my above trade question, I have been offered McFadden and Wayne as well for CJ2K. If I should accept a trade, which one? Do you like Wayne or D-Jax going forward?

  65. Gambler says:

Which RB do you think is a better guy to trade for: Beanie Wells or Knowshown Moreno? Wells’s schedule (besides a couple of games) looks really nice for the rest of the year.. Thinking about offering Mike Williams (TB) for one of them..

  66. emceeperiod says:

@Doc Dizzle: I got Cutler and Stafford. My choices are to:

    1. Start Cutler, keep Stafford and hope he’s only out a week or 2
    2. Keep Cutler, drop Stafford and pick up Garrard and start him
    3. Keep Cutler, drop Stafford and pick up Shaun Hill and start him
    4. Keep Cutler, keep Stafford, and pick up Hill or Garrard, and drop Torain, Crabtree, or Felix (if you pick this option, who would you drop, who would you pick up?).

  67. emceeperiod says:

…Actually, Favre on the wire too right now…

    Thanks again!

  68. Doc

    Doc says:

@emceeperiod: I’d like to start Garrard this week. All signs are pointing toward Stafford being done or mostly done for the season. I’d drop him for Garrard and hope you can get Hill for next week.

@Gambler: I like Knowshon just a little bit more.

@Nathan: I like DJax a little more. I like McFadden and could see making the trade, but you can’t rely on him next week against Pittsburgh.

@Shippity: Dreesen if Daniels doesn’t go.

@Damion: Keller and you named Bowe twice. Guessing there is another guy?

@paulzone: I’d probably hold unless you need a starter.

    @paulzone: I’d give Floyd a shot.

@buge hoobs: Ugh, that’s tough. I’m leaning Garrard, but like both.

@Wilsonian: Hmmm, that’s tough. I think it depends on how badly you need a win this week.

@Black Beard: I would lean selling Wayne and Brown.

@Anonymous: Really depends on how he looks in practice. With those options I could see it.

  69. paulzone says:

    @Doc:my team:

    rivers, fitz
    bradshaw, moreno, pierre, matthews
    aj, wayne, ward, holmes, washington
    tamme, gonzo

#1 – would you trade tamme for mccoy?
#2 – would you dump someone above for either floyd or choice?

i’m liking choice for some reason if Dallas retools some here…

  70. surfmonger says:

thanks for the stat chart, but a little confused here.

so I should read the value in this stat chart as being at the bottom of the green column?

  71. Turd Ferguson says:

Looking ahead to DST playoff matchups, how would you rank the Chiefs (@ SD, @ SEA, TEN, OAK), Cards (DEN, @ CAR, DAL, @ SF), Eagles (@ DAL, @ NYG, MIN, DAL) and Falcons (@ CAR, @ SEA, NO, CAR)? I’m almost certainly in the playoffs, though seeding is very much up for grabs.

Holding the Chiefs right now–they’re not as appealing without McCluster on returns, but he should be back come playoff time. Then again, their playoff matchups aren’t great, not nearly as good as between now and then. The Eagles are the highest ranked by most, but they haven’t been as dominant as the last couple years, and while Dallas twice is nice, they also have the Giants twice, including on the road in the playoffs. The Falcons haven’t been as good lately, but were a steady double digit performer early in the season, and get the Panthers twice, but I’m not thrilled with their matchups before the playoffs. The Cards have scored the most fantasy points in my league this year, and have a high-upside return game and pretty good matchups.

  72. Doc

    Doc says:

@Turd Ferguson: This is exactly why I stream defenses and only look one week ahead. If I had to hold one it would be the Eagles, but I would end up playing someone else when they face the Giants.

@surfmonger: Yes, the teams with the lowest rankings are the best matchups for fantasy defenses, at least stat wise.
