RCL Update, Preseason: Drafts Are Coming!

Like the title spoiled, the table is set, the forks and spoons are in their right place, and hopefully there’s food ready and on the way. In terms of the RCL universe (since I’m hungry and if there are any more food metaphors, I’ll eventually end up eating my keyboard), the “league” has taken shape and drafts are soon to begin over the next several weeks. (But that doesn’t mean you still can’t create and join your choice of RCLs after the jump!) And, I want to touch on what I just stated above: when I say “league”, I mean league, not leagues. Because ef pluralization… I mean, what has it ever done for me? Regardless, you have to remember, this is one complete universal league. The Milky Way of Fantasy Football if you will, including Antonio Brown, Saturn, and of course, Uranus. Don’t roll your eyes, you knew it was coming. (Just like your mother.) What I’m trying to say is, join any league you like, create as many as you want, and be part… of the universe. Mutha. Effing. DEEP.

Hey everyone! I’ve joined the pristine group of Razzball Fantasy contributors to shine a light on the Fantasy Football season in hopes that you heed my words of wisdom and win your leagues.

In terms of specific players and projections, I will leave that to the other writers who are doing a magnificent job. My focus today will be on the draft itself and why it is so very important for you to do adequate homework before you head into your draft lobby. Nobody likes sitting there in a draft when you’re on the clock and you are completely clueless as to who you should draft, forcing you to panic-pick someone overrated that will end up on the waiver wire after Week 2.

In the words of wisdom from a great fantasy football player:

“You can’t win your league in the first three rounds of a draft, but you can lose your league in those rounds.” – Myself, obviously.

So what do I mean when I refer to “homework”? This post is going to focus on topics you need to be privy to before draft day…

Welcome back for another strategy session, where you and I sit down, group our intellect together, and prepare to discuss Fantasy Football ad nauseum… and then promptly get distracted by RedTube. So pretty much every other Tuesday. (Well, for me at least.) We already have a Beginners Guide to Fantasy Football, for those of you who had no idea fantasy football existed… I’m sure there are dozens of you. DOZENS! But now that we have the “101” content coming out on a consistent basis, we arrive at the “Do’s and Don’ts” of a draft. As what should be pretty self explanatory, there are things that you should do and things that you should not do. Crazy stuff! I know. Granted, these are based on my own experiences within the Fantasy Football landscape, so take them for what you will. Which frankly, should be lots. Because it’s free. Free stuff is always good! Unless it’s crayfish in your pants. That’s something that’s free, mysterious, titillating, and scary all at the same time. Much like my lovemaking…

2017 Fantasy Football NFC North Preview

This is it, I’ve reached the end of my half of the Razzball Division previews with the rest coming from Zach. It’s been quite a journey researching the NFC for the upcoming season. It was great going through all of the players that have disappointed me in the past and still loving them for this year and vice versa. Now, I feel somewhat ready to start my rankings for 2017. Within a week, I will put out my top 200 for the season and I will also put out a top 100 IDP players post as well. We’re reaching the home stretch of the NFL offseason, but we still have a lot to cover over here at Razzball. Without further ado, let’s get to the Starks of the NFC North.

The Zeke Virus is Spreading

Around noon eastern time today, I was enjoying my life. It was another day, and I had a delicious lunch consisting of a PB@J and a granola bar. Pretty great. Matt Bowe (make sure to wish my man a Happy Birthday!) and I were talking about Joe Flacco’s broken back, and everything was going according to plan. It was going to be a normal Friday.

And then from around 12-12:15, it all went to crap. It was confirmed that Ezekiel Elliot was going to be suspended for 6 games. So I began writing about that. But then, Sammy Watkins got traded to the Los Angeles Rams. Okay, no biggie, just write two seperate pieces about it. But then, Jordan Matthews got traded to Buffalo. So screw it, we’re going to talk about all of these moves now.

I really hope Adam Schefter’s phone didn’t get hacked.

Fantasy Football Tools Update + Preseason Projections

Last year was our first foray into Fantasy Football season-long and DFS tools and I am hard at work finalizing the improvements for 2017 (stay tuned for an announcements in the next week or two – fyi, there will be a discount for current MLB subscribers). As part of these improvements, we will be projecting Rest of Season projections throughout the NFL season. Unlike MLB, these will be based on the exact matchups – e.g., the system runs all the games on a team’s schedule and then sums up the stats.
