Sorry if you didn’t get your vote in by now but operators are no longer standing by to take your call.  The winner of the first Fantasy Football Face/Off is Andrew Nordmeier with his beautiful and glowing write-up about Roddy White.  Though it was extremely close all the way to the bitter end, we have to say sorry to Mark Lee and his diatribe for Julio Jones as Roddy pulled out the win with 53% of the vote.  It was a gallant effort but in the end, well…

My Hair Is A Bird Your Argument Is Invalid

Now that the tribe has spoken on that subject, it’s time to wet your whistle with this week’s match-up that starts tomorrow as we watch the argument over who has the nicer looking Tight End for 2012 fantasy football: Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham.  Who will win?  I know, the suspense is killing you!

    @Sky,
    Dang! That was a close vote.

    I wonder how the votes would have played out, if this face/off was held this week? With Roddy White coming out and saying, he will be less involved in the passing game for 2012.

      Ah, interesting. I personally was a Julio sympathizer. I think he’ll still have a strong hold in PPR leagues but his targets as ‘the’ WR threat in ATL should’ve been seen as reducing with Jones around. In all honesty, Julio is going to help Roddy and even Tony Gonzalez by stretching the field. In the end, it all helps Matt Ryan in my book. He’s sitting in a really good spot going into 2012.

        @Sky,
        As I stated in the voting article, I totally expect huge numbers from one Mr.Jones. This was before White came out and said anything.

        I agree with you on Matt Ryan and he just adds to the incredible number of viable QB’s for fantasy owners in 2012.

        A player that has me intrigued for the Atlanta Falcons in 2012. Is a running back, from Oregon State and that is JacQuizz Rodgers. Could be looking at the next Darren Sproles for fantasy owners.

          Yeah, in PPR leagues Jacquizz is going to be a guy people want to keep in mind for draft day. I also think Turner takes a step back this year so he makes for a good handcuff.

            @Sky,
            Michael Turner is one name, I will not be calling out in fantasy drafts for 2012. Especially for his asking price of an early 3rd round pick(16th) RB off the board.

              Couldn’t agree with you more. Frank Gore in the same boat for me. Less expensive but just as much of a headache.

                @Sky,
                I hope you have room on that boat? I’m with you on Frank Gore and not wanting any part as well. The whole 49ers backfield is a mess for fantasy owners this year. Who do they think they are the New Orleans Saints? Lol

                  I’m no Billy Zane. You can have a spot on my dinghy :)

                  The more we talk about these things the more I can kinda get behind your Green argument. Which in many ways is making me say ugh about RBs this year.

                    @Sky,
                    Hahaha at the Billy Zane remark.

                    I knew it was only a matter of time, till you would come around on Shonn Greene. lol Believe me at first, I could not wrap my brain around it.

                    Which is why, I think it should be stressed that fantasy owners try and come out of the first two rounds RB-RB this summer. As of now, we are looking at 13RBs(dont know about AP). That I would want to draft in the first two rounds this summer.

                      Oh agreed. Of course, don’t stress that to leaguemates.

    Sky,
    Appreciate your opinions and am interested in seeing you run a similar discussion of the pro-cons of a Vick vs Newton face/off. Vick has something to prove after last years debacle while Newton has a tough year to try to repeat his debut. I am in a 16 team auction league and looking for low hanging fruit and Vick may qualify.

    Keep up the good work. I’m ready for the season to get here!

      Ah, I like that one a lot actually. I will have to bounce it off my team and see if we get some takers!
